Look for a bigger update in about an hour or two.
stocktracker Feb 03, 2006, 04:48 PM With your good city placement and your rapid expansion, winning this shouldn't be too hard.
To resize photos, you need a photo editing program so you can crop the size of your photos.
potatokiosk Feb 03, 2006, 06:10 PM Personally, I think you should have build Paris one more square to the south. It'd be on the river, and immediately have access to the cow.
SuperOmegaMan Feb 03, 2006, 06:24 PM Tech set to...
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/1296/civ67to.png

I decide Orleans will be my meeting place for my army.Lets get it on!
:o The Civ is England! Here we see my army gathering in Orleans, ready to march south and anialate them.
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/8640/civ96tk.png
Not the best, but it will do fine.Apparently it will take them 19 turns to reach Their city.So in 20 turns, buh bye!
Haha,I own:

conquer_dude Feb 03, 2006, 08:25 PM Personally, I think you should have build Paris one more square to the south. It'd be on the river, and immediately have access to the cow.
The river would be good but you could just wall it. BTW potato, dude thats why they made temples.;)

Theres the last update of the night!I believe I set on options to Respawn AI Players. Can they be killed? Thanks for reading!
stocktracker Feb 03, 2006, 09:27 PM I would fill up all of the existing land before starting wars with other people. Then if the AI respawned, they wouldn't have much room. You can outexpand the AI anyway.
conquer_dude Feb 03, 2006, 10:03 PM HOLY CRAP TAKE PARIS OFF WEALTH!!! Make some units to protect it, man. Thats so dangerous. Your gold will get ransacked by that barb. The that English archer will take it out. Build a spear. And hurry the production. it should only cost some gold or 1 citizen.
conquer_dude Feb 03, 2006, 10:04 PM OR MOVE ONE OF THOSE UNITS FROM Civ Fanatic town and guard Paris...
Double post.
Mirc Feb 04, 2006, 01:52 AM Be careful about the unit points. Don't attack with Spearman. Warriors aren't too good also. Attack only with Archers and Swordsman (in the Ancient Age).
BTW, move to Warlord ASAP. On Chieftain you will only learn how to play wrong.

I shaall move on to Warlaord after this, and then so on.
SuperOmegaMan Feb 04, 2006, 08:08 AM Make peace with the Englandahogiemonds, and they throw this on the table for World Maps

conquer_dude Feb 04, 2006, 08:47 AM Dude, any update works for me. BTW how much units did you send over there? How could you end up with two remaining? :wow:
SuperOmegaMan Feb 04, 2006, 09:20 AM Only about 8 :p
Their defenses were pretty good, those 3 spearman hurt all of my men good.
conquer_dude Feb 04, 2006, 09:33 AM Okay. I suspect you are gonna post an update soon? :D

conquer_dude Feb 04, 2006, 11:02 AM The pyramids really do help, oh and happy pwning.:D
The 777 Hoax Feb 04, 2006, 04:03 PM I'll definitely be subscribing...

SuperOmegaMan Feb 04, 2006, 09:55 PM I just now realize that no one is around me  But that will change soon enough.

This SoD Wiped out 3 of their cities, but they got my capitol
I took it back without trouble.New capitol is Orleans.

I promised two,but Im tired.Im getting off,bye!Thanks for reading!
stocktracker Feb 04, 2006, 10:02 PM I never have seen an alliance formed that quickly in a game.
Invest more in science, you have tons of money!
SuperOmegaMan Feb 04, 2006, 10:25 PM Yeah, that makes me mad.
Mr David Feb 04, 2006, 11:05 PM Just a suggestion, but I don't think such massive warmongering is good for training your game skills. You shouldn't be losing your capital or any other city when you have SoD's running around out in the battlefield.

I live for war.
Operation Rapid Expansion
The settler factory has been going good. Here are the new cities.
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7630/untitled1ax1.png
I surrendered to Russia and India,I also declare peace with Germany.

I know,small update,im tired tho.
conquer_dude Feb 05, 2006, 08:40 AM Alright you seriously did need peace there would be no way you could survive, expecially without your capitol, maybe you should rebuild your palace in Paris so it doesnt stay in Orleans.
Mirc Feb 05, 2006, 10:00 AM About that SoD: it has many Spearmen in it. You shouldn't bring so much defense to a battle. Bring offense and fast units and leave the defense in your cities. If you planned to attack with the Spears, don't do that, they have attack 1 and defense 2.
stocktracker Feb 05, 2006, 11:35 AM You need to get out of Republic, or downsize your army. Monarchy would be a better government in your situation.
conquer_dude Feb 05, 2006, 12:03 PM Yes, indeed, Monarchy also helps your cities grow larger, doesnt it?
stocktracker Feb 05, 2006, 12:32 PM Yes, indeed, Monarchy also helps your cities grow larger, doesnt it?
They grow at the same rate as republic, but you have better unit support and no war weariness. One drawback is the reduction of trade. With his empire right now, it is not producing very much trade anyway.
Smart Feb 06, 2006, 07:13 AM Here is my mini SoD
Don't attack with spearmans, they have only attack of 1 and cost the same amount of shields as archers with attack 2 ;)
Mirc Feb 06, 2006, 07:41 AM Be careful about the unit points. Don't attack with Spearman. Warriors aren't too good also. Attack only with Archers and Swordsman (in the Ancient Age).
BTW, move to Warlord ASAP. On Chieftain you will only learn how to play wrong.
Wow, we posted the same thing! So 2 times from me (with this quote 3) and once from you, probably it is enough to convince SOM to stop attacking with them.
SuperOmegaMan Feb 08, 2006, 04:14 PM Wow, we posted the same thing! So 2 times from me (with this quote 3) and once from you, probably it is enough to convince SOM to stop attacking with them.
No its not.
conquer_dude Feb 08, 2006, 04:21 PM People could you just shut up and post the freakin update already!?
Not being mean but... :p
I mean let a guy play the way he wants to.
Smart Feb 08, 2006, 04:25 PM I mean let a guy play the way he wants to.
...and stay on chieftain forever :p
conquer_dude Feb 08, 2006, 04:30 PM Evil. And once again this time in a different topic I have joined smart on the hills of off topic land.
Smart Feb 08, 2006, 04:44 PM I think, low-level stories (chieftain-monarch) are great for learning, because everybody can see mistakes and give advices how to play better. Then player will move up in difficulty level. Look for example at Experiment 626's Solo TDG. It is better then just saying after every update something like "Woohoo, nice update, continue it". If thread starter don't want some comments anymore, he can tell about it. Maybe I'm wrong
Sima Qian Feb 08, 2006, 05:05 PM I think, low-level stories (chieftain-monarch) are great for learning, because everybody can see mistakes and give advices how to play better. My monarch story definitely shows how NOT to play a civ game.
But SOM's really closely packed cities really scare me. Looks so much like ICS :dubious:
Oh, and just FYI, you might want to be careful when pasting screenshots into Paint. If you ever scroll to a different view in Paint, the next time you hit CTRL-V it will try to put your image right on that spot, cutting off the edges or leaving parts of the image beneath it showing. (I learned that the hard way :( )
conquer_dude Feb 08, 2006, 06:00 PM Well yeah your story doesnt TEACH you how to play a game, but you use strategy and ther's an awesome story behind it. Just like weasel op's one more turn theater.
Sima Qian Feb 08, 2006, 07:55 PM Well yeah your story doesnt TEACH you how to play a game, but you use strategy and ther's an awesome story behind it. Just like weasel op's one more turn theater.
*cough* OT
Although I might be interested in playing a game where I constrain myself to some kind of ICS like in this thread just to see how it unfolds...
I'll probably get slaughtered by the AI... so... YEAH I'LL PLAY IT ON CHIEFTIAN!
conquer_dude Feb 08, 2006, 08:18 PM *cough continuestheofftopicproblem hack*
Your jokin right?
Updates, Super Omega Dude?
Mr David Feb 08, 2006, 09:46 PM As long as we're talking about advice for SOM, I REALLY think you shouldn't build any wonders. Especially GL. I'm assuming you're going to try to get it and turn off research until the AI reaches edjmacation. That's seriously not a good idea. Strategies on Demigod/Deity/Sid that you see in other stories and SG's shouldn't be applied to a chieftain game.
SuperOmegaMan Feb 09, 2006, 07:58 PM Im assuming Off Topic is most of your guys middle names :P
Updates on the weekend.
Mirc Feb 10, 2006, 05:24 AM It's not mine!
Or maybe it is? :hmm:

I agree. My Story is at chieftan level for learning purposes.
