Okay, I don't know how many of you remember Semulin's Warhammer Fantasy Mod challenge, but IMO, it was one of the most fun story sessions I ever read. Basically what it was was a random WH game as the Orcs, and Semulin created the game, and uploaded the save, so that all those who chose to participate could download it. Unlike a succession game, where the participants take turns playing the game, each would play their own game off the same start and record their progress. That mad for a rather interesting set of stories, since different play styles led to different outcomes for the 4 players.

At the time, I had no way of downloading the WH mod (my internet connection would drop mere 20 MB downloads halfway through, let alone a 600 MB one).

Well, I have it now, as well as the latest WH 2.2 patch (all of which are avaialble in the Completed Modpacks section of this site).

Here's my ideas for the scenario: Monarch, Standard Map, play as the Dwarves, all other civs random, continents etc random, and raging barbs.

Feel free to join this undertaking and/or make suggestions for changing settings. Once we've got something that everyone involved can aggree on, I'll create the game and upload the sav for everyone to start off of.

So, who's in?

Oh, and for those who might be confused as to what this is, I've dug up the original Warhammer Challenge (which spawned, IMO, four of the best Civ III stories ever). In the thread, you can see the different Orc Onslaught stories, and if you read King Arthur's or Semulin's, then you'll get an idea of how I plan to do my Dwarf Onslaught :D (i.e. write it as though I was a dwarf talking). I'll also be throwing in some LotR, Final Fantasy, and Discworld references as needed to increase the humor content.

True... SInce this thread isn't getting much response/support, I figure I'll wait until tomorrow, and if noone else posts anything, then I'll create the game and post the save, after which I'll start my story.

Thanks for the support.... The Dwarves are my favorite fantasy race in any story/genre (as a matter of fact, the only non-human charachter I played in D&D was a dwarf fighter). I'll see about posting the save tomorrow and starting by Thursday at the latest.

Have you thought of promoting this concept on the War Hammer threads??

Some of those guys are hardcore and fanatics ... imagine the 'decoration' pictures they would post along with their adventurous tales.

Okay, I've got a game started, and have posted the SAV file. I'll start on my story tomorrow... I'm rendering a unit right now. Note: I have NoAIPatrol=0 set, so the raging barbs should be a bit more troublesome for both human and AI players alike.

Glad I found this again. This is the FAQ for the story. I knew that there was a post that had the start stats. It was driving me nuts:wallbash:
