Just wanted to clarify when a specialist was active or not. When the computer's been handling specialists I find myself losing track of who is doing what.

Can someone definitively tell me when a specialist is operating in a city? Sometimes there is an icon, sometimes it is highlighted in yellow, is there a difference?

When it is faint and there is a plus symbol, I assume this shows the potential to build a specialist of that type. Is this right?

If a Specialist is outlined in yellow, it means that the computer has chosen it because Citizen Automation is on. You can change it if you want though, you don't have to accept it's choice. And yes, if there's a + sign beside the greyed-out icon, it means you can create one of those types.

Other way around, Willem; when the specialist is outlined in yellow, that means you have chosen to have that specialist there (forced), which means that the computer will not automatically take that specialist off.

You can add forced specialists by clicking the + sign next to the specialist; mousing over that + sign will tell you the max number of that type of specialist you can make. If there is no + sign, you cannot make that kind of specialist.

To remove forced (or computer-assigned) specialists, click the - sign next to the specialist. This will turn that specialist into a citizen, or if you are clicking the - sign for the citizen, it will put that citizen on the land to work.

I see. I don't use Citizen Automation so I wasn't quite sure about that.

Thanks :) So I can turn off the computer control? That'd help.

You're actually better off if you do things yourself. The governor is not very smart.
