So, completed my first succession game, and decided to do a story from it (assuming there's interest). It was an easy game, but I think a reasonable story can be made from it.
So, here we go!

View Full Version : An Alternate American History JesusOnEez Feb 09, 2006, 07:09 AM So, completed my first succession game, and decided to do a story from it (assuming there's interest). It was an easy game, but I think a reasonable story can be made from it. So, here we go! JesusOnEez Feb 09, 2006, 07:10 AM PRE-HISTORY Tyee sat by the campfire, looking at the leaders of the other tribes. He noticed his son, Yuma, looked nervous. His face lit orange as the flames licked into the night sky. Tyee smiled at him reassuringly, and started to speak. “We have lived as small tribes throughout our known history. We have fought as friends and battled as foes throughout this time. I feel that now, during this time of peace, that a new dawn should be ushered in. I propose a joining of our tribes…” He paused as he looked at their faces. Some angered, some intrigued. He continued. “We have the opportunity, now more than ever to join. Share our resources. Build our power in the world, but we can only do this as one. You know as well as I that strange, pale-skinned people are exploring our shores. They are organised and well equipped. The may be peaceful, and have been so far. But we are in no position to defend ourselves should they become hostile. We need to be prepared, to be ready, if and when the time comes to fight for our lands and our right to exist. Hopefully that time will not come, but if it does…” He looked at the first leader. “Will you be ready?” The next leader. “Will you?” He went to each leader in turn, asking the simple question, without waiting for reply. He waited, as they chatted amongst themselves, most shaking their heads as they talked. He continued. “Very simply, if we do this, we can become a great power, a great nation and a people that demand respect. If not, we will simply become extinct. You have until sunrise to decide” With that, Tyee retired to his tent, hoping for good news, but expecting none. JesusOnEez Feb 09, 2006, 07:10 AM 4000BC Yuma looked at the land around him and smiled. His father, Tyee would have been proud. They had been turbulent times leading up to this day. Of the tribes that had not agreed to a joining of forces, most were gone, split up by miles of land, dotted around in small encampments. A meagre life of pillage and murder. Those that had joined had gone on a quest. A quest to find the perfect place to found their first town. Their new home. It had been a long time coming. Tyee had long since died, and Yuma himself was no longer young. But he was to see the dawn of a new age. His smile grew. JesusOnEez Feb 15, 2006, 04:06 PM Abandoned...lack of interest. :( |
