View Full Version : Conquer Dude's Hotseat Game
conquer_dude Feb 12, 2006, 04:12 PM Hello everyone. GAAAHH! Yes!! I'm starting a hotseat game with (hopefully) updates daily.:) It is on tiny map. I am playing regicide.:)
On January 1rst, in 4000 BC, four nomadic civilizations have conquered their enemies and havve risen to become the greatest, most powerful civilization of all time. Which of the four will become most powerful? I, conquer_dude, the great storyteller of these civilizations will guide you through devastating battles, humungus and small wars, Victory and defeat. For all of these four civilizations want to be the strongest.
As I begine my storytelling of the nations, i must first introduce you to them. First is Arabia, in which boasts their capitol city of mecca, with nearby silks.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Mecca.jpg
Carhtage boast its capitol city of Cartage for neaby wines AND gems.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Cathage.jpg
Next is Dellhi and the Indians, which boasts insence, game and nearby cattle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Delhi.jpg
Next is Germany, Berlin which boasts a nearby goody hut which is abandoned.:p They also boast game and nearby wine.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Berlin.jpg
That will do it for today. Which of these four simple civilizations will come out ahead of each other?
Mr David Feb 12, 2006, 04:32 PM Wait, so you're going to play as all the civs? Or is a sibling/family member going to play also?
Smart Feb 12, 2006, 04:32 PM Playing against yourself? :crazyeye:
I don't think that somebody will win or lose unless you will say "This civilization must die", and give a King unit for destroying :mischief:
I will look how it will be going.
Sima Qian Feb 12, 2006, 04:46 PM Uh, hrm. How are you going to decide how to trade with yourself? Or whether or not to agree to alliances/RoP/MPPs?
It'll be interesting to see how that works out.
stocktracker Feb 12, 2006, 04:53 PM What about these games you started?
The Great French
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=147418
The Hopeless Mongol War
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=144722
Can't you finish those?
I'll see how long this can go...
conquer_dude Feb 12, 2006, 04:54 PM I've played hotseat with myself before, and when you trade, say it is 1rst civ's turn, he wants to trade with civ 2, he offers it, then when civ2's turn comes around, you can add to it or just accept it. i won't be making any retarted trades, though, it will be just like the AI, I will have to be everyone and hate everyone.
@Stock- I cant because my CCquest disc has screwed. I would if I could, man.
Mr David Feb 12, 2006, 04:56 PM Stocktracker brings up a good point. Don't start a bunch of stories that sounds like a cool idea and end up not finishing it.
But I will follow this one :D
conquer_dude Feb 12, 2006, 04:57 PM Like I said, I would finish BOTH of them if my conquests disc wasnt screwed.:crazyeye: Anymore people gesturing against those stories?
Mirc Feb 13, 2006, 04:13 AM Strange idea! However, I don't think that you will have time to finish this game! Just think how much a normal game lasts, and then imagine how much a 4 times longer game will take!
conquer_dude Feb 13, 2006, 05:52 PM Oh it won't take long if I finish it. I will post an update today once I play the game.
conquer_dude Feb 13, 2006, 08:26 PM Alright here it is:
I will now lead you through events that will change the civilizations. First I must show you the explored territory of the civilzations. :)
Here is the territory of the Arabians:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/arabarea.jpg
Next is the territory of the Germans:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/german-area.jpg
Next is the territory of Carthage:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/carthagearea.jpg
And well I, the ancient storyteller seemed to have forgotten to take my camera when I was flying over Delhi in my helicopter, and well... didn't exactlly get a screen.:mischief:
Next, it looks like the Germans have found themselves a friendly hut!:)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/luckygermans.jpg
And same with the Arabians!:D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/luckyarabs.jpg
Looks like Ghandi is trapped. Maybe this one will be knocked out early.:mischief:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/lookslikewemighthavelostghandilol.jpg
Hmmm... We have a situation here...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/lollol.jpg
Well, that is it for my ancient scrolls of wisdom. Next time... Who knows what may happen as tensions rise between the four civilizations of the ancient world.
Will Ghandi survive the raiding surrounding barbarians? Will the the Germans and Arabians become mad of their close borders?
Find out next when I learn more of my ancient scrolls of wisdom...
I am doing this as I play along, I have not finished it yet.
Mr David Feb 13, 2006, 08:38 PM :crazyeye: So confusing to read a log flipping back and forth between 4 civs. It might be better if you just have four sections in the log instead of constantly switching
conquer_dude Feb 13, 2006, 08:44 PM :crazyeye: So confusing to read a log flipping back and forth between 4 civs. It might be better if you just have four sections in the log instead of constantly switching
How is it difficult, it's only four civs, I was thinking about starting a ten civ hotseat.:p The leaders should help you like Ghandi and blah blah blah.:)
stocktracker Feb 13, 2006, 09:43 PM Someone on the Civ 4 story forums tried a 18 civ hotseat, it didn't last long.
In this game, tension should rise quickly, the civs are very close together.
Mirc Feb 14, 2006, 04:23 AM This story is strange! :crazyeye: But it's funny!
conquer_dude Feb 14, 2006, 08:19 PM Sorry I can't post an update today because of darn homework. :(
azzaman333 Feb 14, 2006, 11:08 PM Sorry I can't post an update today because of darn homework. :(
Homework killed one of my stories, so i know how that feels.
conquer_dude Feb 15, 2006, 03:51 PM Indeed, but prepare for an update coming... tonight. I'm on a different computer right now.
conquer_dude Feb 15, 2006, 06:35 PM Well, the ancient storyteller got mad at his image hosting place because, um, they wouldn't let him overrite files so he wasted a couple of good minutes when he could be playing his electric guitar but, woah I'm in 2006 AD Back to 3700 BC.:mischief:
As we all know Ghandi was in a little bit of a um... trap. But those retarted barbarians halted the moment to seize the Incan civilization, and they fortified!? Anyway back to the story.
Ahem!!!
INDIA
Ghandi saw that these barbarians were rather, uh... retarted. So ghandi goes oh wtf I dont know what to do.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/strange.jpg
So he came with the conclusion.:D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/closecall.jpg
So all that said.
CARTHAGE, GERMANY, AND ARABIA
Looks they have c-l-o-s-e borders.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/closeborders.jpg
Looks like we have another situation here. I didn't know they all spoke the same languages!?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/haharemade.jpg
Well, tomorow maybe even tonight, I conquer dude must go back into 2006 and work on getting a map of these great civilizations out.:goodjob:
Beam me up, Spock
SHOOM
stocktracker Feb 15, 2006, 06:54 PM Get two of those kings in a fight, that should eliminate a civilization quickly...
conquer_dude Feb 15, 2006, 06:56 PM Nah I dont want to do that. No fun. I will once tehy have strong units guarding them. Then there will be a fight to the death.
conquer_dude Feb 18, 2006, 11:24 AM Alright short update bigger ones may come tonight or tomorow.;)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The ancient storyteller managed to get 3 of the civilization's explored territory. He could not get the Germans because 1- his computer went screwy and 2- the Germans had anti-aircraft missles everywhere so his helicopter couldn't really get there. :mischief:
So here is what he got. The Arabians:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/arabarea2.jpg
The Indians:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/India-Area2.jpg
And those folks that the Romans hate:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/carthagearea2.jpg
It's a pitty the Nazis had so much AA guns. Oh, did I mention they were flaming arrow AA's.:mischief:
stocktracker Feb 18, 2006, 03:54 PM If the computer were running these civilizations, I would assume India would do the best. They are isolated, and have good food bonuses. I guess I will wait to see what happens to them.
Mirc Feb 18, 2006, 03:56 PM Calling the Arabs "terrorists" might cause revolt around the world!
conquer_dude Feb 18, 2006, 04:48 PM Ah yeah yeah yeah just a joke.
ac196nataku Feb 19, 2006, 01:21 AM Albeit racist.
conquer_dude Feb 19, 2006, 08:44 AM Dang it's not racist people! Just a joke and you should all know that.
Updates coming this afternoon. :)
Edit: There? See? Glad? I changed it!!
conquer_dude Feb 19, 2006, 04:03 PM UPDATE!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Again, the ancient storyteller has returned with more news on the four civilzations. Aparently, the first civilizations to have their leaders meet face to face were the Germans and Arabs, when the Germans offered pottery, and here is what the Arabians gave the Germans, a ripoff.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/germans-trade.jpg
I believe that Bismark was dumb enough to accept the deal!
I have realized that something is going on between the three packed up civs here... There is a good spot that any civilization would want to put their next city, by cattle. Unfortunantly I do not believe that these folk's land was not as good as the Indian's lands. So that is why this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/goodspot.jpg
:is a good spot. (By the cattle on the coast) So I did some investigation to see who was on the move to get their settler out. Here we have the Chartagians, working on the first settler of the game. Assembling a group of settlers is not easy for a small city like that, so it will take 10 turns...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/firstsettler.jpg
So, the Chartagians are hoping for the nice city spot, and the other two civilizations, Germans and Arabians are currently finishing projects THEN to work on settlers. Actually Arabians have the advantage because they are closer. Even if Chartage gets the settler out first, Arabs could beat them there to the spot. Germans have the biggest disadvantage because they are farther behind and have not started a settler.
Oh, gosh! Have I forgotten the superpower of the four civilzations!? The unknown civilzation of the other three? The Indians!? Look at this.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/ClearlyBest.jpg
They have the best land over the four civilizations. the other three know they are there somewhere, when suddenly, a German warrior sees an Indian warrior south of the Arabs. Unfortunantly it was too late (I was on the Indians when I saw him) and the trun ended. :( But I got a snap of the historic German warrior:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Wowenough.jpg
Well that's about all for now. Enjoy!:)
conquer_dude Feb 19, 2006, 04:03 PM Note: I wasnt as happy with this one but big things happened, I will switch India off the settler until it grows larger.
The 777 Hoax Feb 19, 2006, 04:19 PM Dude, I just found this. This is a weird little story, but I think it's funny. Lol, keep it up!
conquer_dude Feb 19, 2006, 08:51 PM Alright updates... hopefully tomorow because its a school day and I dont know if I can fit in an update.
1000th POST!!!
conquer_dude Feb 25, 2006, 04:12 PM Alright, sorry late update. I will only be able to post updates on weekends probably because of homework.:(
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ancient storyteller was flying over Germany when their AA's were innactive. He got a shot of why the Germans probably won't go for that spot. There is some good land west of Berlin. Here is what it is:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Germany-NiceSpot.jpg
I also got into a conversation with Bismark! I got to safely enter Berlin!
Bismark: Come, sit. Would you like a beer?
Me: What beers do you have?
Bismark: Hmm... Corona, Miller, Budweiser, Guiness, Bud Light...
Me: Guiness please. What do you think about Arabia?
Bismark: *Drinks Carona in thought* I am kind of annoyed with them. They are close to our territory, *hick* and they are close to *hick* silks that are down sou- *hick* th.
Me: What do you think about Berlin?
Bismark: *hick* Runnin' low on miller. *hick* *Picks up miller and gulps it down*
Me: Well, I'm gonna take a picture of Berlin with my camera.
Bismark: *hick* What's a *hick* camera?
Me: Nevermind.
Berlin:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Berlinagain.jpg
After a strange visit in Berlin I leave to go off to Arabia. They made the first archer of the game... Looks like it's gonna pop that tribe down there.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/GoodyHutPop.jpg
I got into a conversation with Bakr:
Me: What do you think about Arabia?
Bakr: I like
Me: Do you like the production rate?
Bakr: I like
Me: Do you like the Germans?
Bakr: I like
Me: Do you speak my language!?
Bakr: I like
After that visit, I got a snap of Mecca:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/MeccaAgain.jpg
Next I went to Carthage and I had a strange conversation with Hannibal.
Me: Hello.
Hannibal: Die you Romans What? Hello? Uh... Hi.
Me: What do you think about Arabia
Hannibal: Hmph... *Thinks* Suckers.
Me: I see. What do you think about Carthage?
Hannibal: :woohoo:
Me: I see.
So after that talk, I got a snap of Chartage.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/CarthageAgain.jpg
Next I fly to India.
I seem to have suprised Ghandi when I walked in and he was meditating...
Me: *opens door* Hello Ghandi.
Ghandi: *Is floating in meditation and falls* Hm? WTF?
Me: Um... Ghandi?
Ghandi: WTF is going on here? Leave, stupid!
So I left. But I managed to get a shot of... *gasp*
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/ArabianBorder.jpg
Looks like a border has been found!
Here is Delhi:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/DelhiAgain.jpg
That is about it. ;)
Mirc Feb 26, 2006, 05:31 AM Nice!
azzaman333 Feb 26, 2006, 05:50 AM I want to see a fight to the death between 2 leaders. Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
stocktracker Feb 26, 2006, 07:57 AM At this point, I would put money on India, but I am sure something will change to give them a disadvantage. One civ won't dominate the entire game.
conquer_dude Feb 26, 2006, 09:49 AM @Mirc-Thanks. ;)
@azzaman-That will (believe it or not) be coming soon, around early AD I hope.
@stocktracker-Who knows... It really think India will win too, but, my second guess might be Arabia...
Updates later on today. :)
Mirc Feb 26, 2006, 11:19 AM
10 char
conquer_dude Feb 27, 2006, 10:12 AM And so, I the ancient storyteller return with a late update becasue of that crappy Arabian chopper I have broke down. Ahurm... Yes. Indeed I will continue.
When I was flying over vacant land I saw this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/germansandindiansmeet.jpg
: I was expecting to see this soon. I was not surprised. But what did surprise me was that all of these civilzations are on the same continent. :hmm:
And so, as I heard Arabian citizens when I was walking around Mecca, they were cursing the Carthage people, especially due to the "Cannibal" in their border. So I wasn't surprised to see something like this. The Arabian archers are puzzled in what they should do. Bakr would definantly be mad if they attacked "Cannibal" and died, but kings cannot capture cities, so he wasn't as worried.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/WhatwillArabiaDo.jpg
And so Arabian archers amazingly called off the attack.
The Carthagian citizens hear about this and build up for a war. Warrriors are stopping their scouting and returning to Carthage for the war. Though, Carthage still wants some citizens to settle. Especially if Carthage is captured in the war and they have to head out.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Carthagewarbuildup.jpg
Arabians do the same, except they no longer worry about settlers. They want offensive power over the Arabians.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/warbuildup.jpg
Then, Carthagian warriors get sooooo over excited, they dare surprise attack Bakr!?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Thefightbeginsfirstbattle.jpg
And so they do!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/andsotheymeanit.jpg
This is war!!!! I could hear the Carthage warriors shout that from in my chopper! Luckily I got the whole see of the battle, and...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/andsocharthagefails.jpg
They suck. 30 warrriors against one dude. wOw that's lame. Carthagians lose the first heated battle of the now-known-as Chartage-Arabian war of 3150 BC.
Find out what happens next in the next thrilling chapter of Conquer Dude's HOTSEAT GAME!
(Do not look at spoiler for, it is, indeed a spoiler)
Someone dies...
Cheers.
The 777 Hoax Feb 27, 2006, 02:27 PM Haha couldn't resist, I look at the spoiler. I don't listen very well.
Mirc Feb 27, 2006, 02:31 PM I didn't look at the spoiler and I think I won't do it. BTW, I also think that the joke with the Arabs wasn't racist at all, it was just a joke and I did just a joke by talking about it.
Edit: 1200th post!!![party]:woohoo::band::woohoo::dance::bounce:[party]:band::band::dance::beer::band:
conquer_dude Feb 27, 2006, 08:33 PM @ Mirc: I know you did a joke about it. ;) It was immature to call it racist. Because calling people "terrorists" isn't racist. Making fun of other races (By color) is racist. I just changed it so those immature freaks wouldn't explode in more immature, negative posts.
@cody: :nono: Don't look at spolier. Bad.
ac196nataku Feb 27, 2006, 08:45 PM Corona, Miller, Budweiser, Guiness, Bud Light
lol, most Germans would be disgusted at crappy American beer. The fact that Budweiser bought the rights to sell its beer at the World Cup in Germany this year makes me laugh.
Also it seem that you edited it out, but the thing about terrorists is pretty rascist IMO because you are stereotyping a group of people based off of a couple individuals. Ditto for calling Germans Nazis. Not trying to flame or anything just putting out my two cents.
Interesting thing you got going here. Every now and again I play with two civs or so but I usually get caught trying to pick which one to kill off and that just doesn't work haha.
stocktracker Feb 27, 2006, 10:02 PM I looked at the update, and I realized that you are only 17 turns in the game! It seems like you have gotten farther with all of the updates. Only 523 turns to go...
conquer_dude Feb 28, 2006, 09:40 PM Yup. :D
Sorry I couldn't post an update. Internet just came back and I'm about to go pass out.
conquer_dude Mar 01, 2006, 09:34 PM Quick chapter.
I, the ancient storytller got some more info.
Looks like India makes the first settler of the game.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Indiafirstsettler.jpg
So India decides to make a barracks for stronger units.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Indiaswitchproduction.jpg
Looks like India has met two of the three "northerners"
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Indiahasmettwo.jpg
Incense for India!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/IncenseforIndia.jpg
The second battle of the Chartagian-Arabian war rages!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Archersattack.jpg
And the result is... Not so good for the Arabians. Boy will Bakr get mad!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Andtheresult.jpg
So, back to India, they decide their amount of gold is good enough to up reaserch to 100%
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Indiaupsresearch.jpg
There is an area that these civs will be fighting for. They will all want the silks.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Allwillwantthesilks.jpg
Looks like Arabia gets a surprising message, but they agree.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/surprisingmessage.jpg
In the meantime, Hannibal heals, hoping to start better relations with Arabia.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/Hannibalheals.jpg
It is safe to look at spoiler btw. Nothing to spoil this time!
For all you nauty ones who read the spoiler, I told you someone would die! Archers! :p
stocktracker Mar 01, 2006, 09:42 PM I wish I could actually get away with a three turn war in Civ 3. And it looks like the Arabs have taken the score lead, for now.
conquer_dude Mar 01, 2006, 09:44 PM  Three turn wars are more realistic, becasue wars against AI's last for 1000 years while this one just lasts for 120 or something.
And, yeah the Arabs are two points ahead of everybody.
Sima Qian Mar 01, 2006, 09:49 PM I wish I could actually get away with a three turn war in Civ 3. And it looks like the Arabs have taken the score lead, for now.
The last turn of my first story (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=152838&page=13) was a one-turn war, declared at the beginning, got a peace treaty before the turn ended. Of course, I can almost never pull that off unless I'm actually trying to do that... and it's usually not worth the effort.
I think you just have to deal out enough damage to the AI in one turn to make them beg for peace. In other wars I've had, the AI would refuse to see me even after about 20-30 turns, simply because I didn't kill enough of their units.
BuckyRea Mar 02, 2006, 08:59 AM Dang, those are some big screen shots! I have to sneak in time at work just to read this! (Got a t-1 at work, dial up at home -- Shhh, don't tell the boss.) Lookin' at those (probably sacred) cows to their south, I'd give the early advantage to the Indians. Are you taking wagers?
conquer_dude Mar 02, 2006, 06:55 PM As many of you have probably already guessed...
No updates today cause fomeowrk killed the update. But (hopefully time tomorow, I'm going out of town but I think I'll have time to make an update. The other update will come Sunday, because I'm going out of town, like I said. :(
conquer_dude Mar 03, 2006, 03:58 PM I, the ancient storyteller return to the world here:
India is amazed about land all around them. Look, Ghandi! Silks!

Self explanitory:

And again:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/6.jpg
stocktracker Mar 03, 2006, 04:02 PM Why did everyone research bronze working first, is a bigger war coming?
conquer_dude Mar 04, 2006, 08:27 AM They wanted defense and I was bored. It is a bit confusing switching back and I think making techs go in a diferent order for the civs it would be hard, if you know what I mean.
The 777 Hoax Mar 04, 2006, 11:03 AM oopsie. Me no lookie at no more spoilers.
conquer_dude Mar 04, 2006, 08:24 PM Teach you guys a lesson!
conquer_dude Mar 10, 2006, 07:31 PM Ok, my apologies. Sincere apologies.
I noticed hte time today. We got in a fender bender on the way to the mall today and JUST got home. :(
Updates, maybe Sunday, but I cant promise. This week though, I can update cause we are doing the Standardise Testing crap, but we have no homeowrk. :)
conquer_dude Mar 13, 2006, 08:23 PM Okay, I played alot just now. About a thousand years. Woohoo!!
I, the ancient storyteller will tell you more news here!
Well, photobucket SCREWED me bad and I'm so mad I'm switching to imageshack! So, you only get half of my 12 shots I took.
They were basically all about new cities being founded. India founded Bombay, palace addition, Carthage founded Utica, palace addition, Germany founded whatever city is next, and a palace construction.
Arabia has founded:

Well, I am furious at photobucket so, the ancient storyteller could only show you half the story!:mad:
Mirc Mar 14, 2006, 09:47 AM :banana:Update!
The 777 Hoax Mar 14, 2006, 04:24 PM Dude I hate imageshack... sometimes it says i'm trying to upload pornographic material when i'm trying to upload civ screenshots! Maybe it's Joan's picture, it's a bit revealing... :p
stocktracker Mar 14, 2006, 04:33 PM I use Imageshack, it usually takes less than 10 minutes to upload a set of pictures. I have never had any problems with it. I have about 900 images on it, mostly civ-related.
The 777 Hoax Mar 14, 2006, 04:35 PM You use irfanview, as well, don't you stock? That's where I first heard it from, you.
conquer_dude Mar 14, 2006, 04:35 PM My problem is that photobucket screwed my files bad. BAD. Updates coming soon.:bounce:
conquer_dude Mar 14, 2006, 06:52 PM I, the ancient storyteller has returned with (great) news! A world war is forming up as tensions arise from the Germans, Arabians, and Indians. The Carthagans, former Arabian enemies ahve been stirring up with Arabia and its ally, the Germans. But can the allies remain "allys" much longer?
First, this is interesting. An Indian warrior comes across the first camp of barbarians. Must still be remaining from the nomads that did not die in 4001BC!
http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5144/130pr.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Hanniabal; sees his chance for gold... and seizes it!
http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/8241/142tl.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
At that next turn, Germany launches a surprise attack on India, and loses an archer to a pathetic warrior, though the archer was crossing a river into a mountain...
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/66/151ig.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Here, the second great battle of the war takes place! This time German archers attack an Indian warrior on a BG!
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/3185/167hq.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
And the result is clear:
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/4918/176tr1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Arabians decided to pitch in.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/2458/190wy.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
But, they failed to that invincable warrior.
:wow:
The Germans see their chance, and the Indians miss it. (I didn't even now that the warrior was there, it was a surprise attack, I guess.
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/738/206ny.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
So it be written, so it be done!
http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/3376/212ze.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Looks like the remaining resister of Delhi are not so happy. Maybe it will flip!!
http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/3393/229vb.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Well, that is all, and the ancient storyteller has to write a report so, tut!
The 777 Hoax Mar 14, 2006, 09:00 PM Yes! War war war!!!
stocktracker Mar 14, 2006, 10:34 PM You use irfanview, as well, don't you stock? That's where I first heard it from, you.
Yes I do, it is good for reducing the file size.
And Germany getting the Indian capital will knock them off the throne. I am going to assume that India will get it back.
conquer_dude Mar 15, 2006, 04:00 PM I don't know. I plan to update tonight and the World War 1 continues!
conquer_dude Mar 15, 2006, 07:07 PM I, the ancient storyteller bring more dreadful news from the World War 1. Do not think it is just the lost of 200 archers, but the loss of 200,000 people. Yes, 200,000 all because the death of one.
WARNING: DON'T YOU DARE LOOK AT THE LAST SCREEN UNTIL YOU GET THERE!!
The raid on Delhi has begun! :wow:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/23.jpg
Sucess! And the citizens of Bombay are all like WTF!?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/24.jpg
Looks like a Chartagian settler is having some issues here!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/25.jpg
Arabians decided to counter-attack the Carthagians. The Arabians and Carthagians were former enemies and this restarts the war. Making WW1 larger than expected!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/26.jpg
Danged warrior kicked the living crap out of the archer!
Looks like Berlin is anguarded!? Huh?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/27.jpg
The raid begins!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/28.jpg
And ends with the warrior getting the crap kicked out of him!
The capture!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/29.jpg
And, and, and, GOOD LORD!!! WTF is this warrior doing! :dubious:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/30.jpg
GOOD LORD!!!The warriors attacked the great Ghandi and from around the world, the very moment the ax went through Ghandi's head the whole Indian civilization exploded into fumes and now all of them are dead. Great job, Ghandi.
*sniff* *walks away*
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/31.jpg
And the citizens were so happy... Well, that about sums it up for the Indians as a strange Indian resister and some family and other resisters stood on top of a cliff looking at the German soldiers from afar. Blew their horn, and ran into the forest never to be seen again.
Let us all give Ghandi a hearty salute. :salute:
The 777 Hoax Mar 15, 2006, 07:11 PM Nooooo!!! Gandhi!!!! You're not supposed to die until '48!!! And it has nothing to do with an ax!
stocktracker Mar 15, 2006, 09:50 PM That is too bad, I guess I should not make predictions about who will win.
Mirc Mar 16, 2006, 11:45 AM Great update! War! War! Much war!
BuckyRea Mar 16, 2006, 12:37 PM Heh. Club wielding warrior caveman vs Gandhi. No contest. Reminds me of that very short cartoon "Bambi vs Godzilla."
SPOILER ALERT!!
Godzilla won about two seconds after they quit rolling the opening credits. Like I said... very short cartoon.
conquer_dude Mar 16, 2006, 04:06 PM Updates are coming soon. I actually do not muss Ghandi. Makes the game shorter. AND: I will either go for domination or conquest. Conquest most likely. Trust me, this game might end before the mideavil ages.
conquer_dude Mar 16, 2006, 06:31 PM Well, I the ancient stryteller return once again today with news. News that Ghandi's body has been found. And the name of the man thet killed Ghandi is, well, what I just said.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/32.jpg
He recieved a high honor! But besides that, Carthage is finally at war with everyone since the old stats were to be Chartage and India vs Germany and Arabia. 2 allienced. Chartage now stands on one leg, after losing their strong ally.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/33.jpg
Now, will ya' look at this!! German archers are aproaching Utica and attacking!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/34.jpg
They were brave archers, and did not hesitiate one bit, but Utica held, with the warrior remaining with 1 hp, becoming a veteran.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/35.jpg
Of course, that was from the German's view. But, that vet warrior eventually had to run up to Chartage to save it from Barbarian attacks. Funny enough, when Carthage was about to be ransacked, the culture expanded, destroying the barbarians!
Well, here you see Carthage offering Arabia peace, which is later accepted, as the world war comes to an end.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/36.jpg
And boy do the Germans have a surprise!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/37.jpg
And then Leipzig isnt that great anymore either...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/38.jpg
Then Carthagfe gets its iron by settling the town of theveste!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/39.jpg
Soon after this, there was fighting on the German borders and peace was later declared between Carthage and Germany, freeing the world from war, but still. Germans and Arabians began to anger themselves as they declared peace with Carthage and now they are squabbling about who started.
And the score!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/40.jpg
Mirc Mar 17, 2006, 02:13 AM Great update!
"Sir, this will cause war with the 3 people. Are you sure?"
stocktracker Mar 17, 2006, 07:27 AM The Arabs could be in trouble without iron. And they also have the lowest score.
BuckyRea Mar 17, 2006, 09:19 AM Ouch! No iron? Is there any chance of doing anything in history without iron? For me that's usually a sign that I need to emotionally detach myself from any civ I might be playing.
conquer_dude Mar 17, 2006, 07:37 PM Chill people! The Arabs have iron south of them on a mountain and I am sending a settler down next to it and hook it up.;)
@Mirc-Yeah I was too lazy to give the tribes names. :p
Updates coming, thanks for all the "great updates" :)
Mirc Mar 18, 2006, 06:31 AM No problem, it's easier to follow the story like that. Just that it sounds funny to have a war against 3 people.
conquer_dude Mar 18, 2006, 12:44 PM You mean "the 3 People" :p
Updates will coming in about an hour. Sorry I couldn't update last night because I had to watch a movie. SO, Expect possibly 2 updates today! :D
conquer_dude Mar 18, 2006, 01:39 PM I, thew ancient storyteller return once again with thriving news. AS mentioned in the last episode, Germany and Arabia began to stir up rivalries, and as a German warrior enters the borders of Damascus:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/41.jpg
And, the battle is about begin, as Arabian warriors prepare themselves for treacherous fighting and bloodshed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/42.jpg
The next day, the attack began and Arabian warriors held out without even taking a scratch. Lucky Arabs!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/43.jpg
Well, all that said, we go to Carthage. This one veteran warrior that has been siting around on its butt for 2000 years finally gets some orders.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/44.jpg
The Arabians send out a small attack force and head for Berlin, thinking Bismark is there, not knowing that he is hiding out somewhere else.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/45.jpg
And WTF!? When I was looking down at former India I saw this where Bombay used to be!:wow:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/46.jpg
Well, heh. Back to the story. Carthage squeezes in a city on the borders of both civs.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/47.jpg
Bakr needs to make a quick run to Medina for safety.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/48.jpg
While the archers were heading out, they found out that Hamburg was undefended, where Bismark was hiding out. The Arabians made theory that the Germans were switching Bismark with a spearman in Hamburg but the spearman didn't arrive in time and... Well, spearmen don't attack, so he retreated to Berlin?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/49.jpg
Germany makes advantage of their newly discovered tech, writing. They were curious with Carthage, for they were building up a small stack of swordsmen and archers on the German/Arabian border. Bismark wonders who they will attack but he gets no great answer from this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/50.jpg
Mirc Mar 18, 2006, 04:18 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/46.jpg
It is a common bug. I've seen it many times. In Vanilla if an enemy razed a city with coal in it's range the city became a railroad.
conquer_dude Mar 18, 2006, 09:30 PM Well, I can't update today cause I just came back from watching 16 Blocks with some friends.
I guess you might expect two tomorrow if I dont go anywhere.
conquer_dude Mar 19, 2006, 09:57 AM I, the ancient storyteller return with more news. This time, a fatal trategy has occured, as world wars start up again. Word War 2 in 700BC!
So, here we have an Arabian battle plan, attemting to take out another civ.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/51.jpg
But their plan was terribly interupted. German swordsmen came to attack the city.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/52.jpg
And, meanwhile a German archer approaches Damascus, but it takes haevy casualties and the some remaining five archers of the 200 that attacked wondered off back into the jungle, feeding on locusts, but they were attacked and killed by barbarians.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/53.jpg
Meanwhile, Carthagians pitch in! The attack will begin!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/54.jpg
And now, the chariots zoom into the city, sacking alot of it, but were forced to retreat when the spearmen came around.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/55.jpg
Sucess!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/57.jpg
And, the citizens of Hamburg are a tad bit worried...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/56.jpg
The city was captured.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/58.jpg
The current score and power graph:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/59.jpg
Carthagian units near Medina, with Bakr the only defender, his spearmen a bit too late for reinforcements.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/60.jpg
And:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/61.jpg
That id *sniff* the end for the Arabians.
Let us all give Bakr a hearty salute! :salute:
Mirc Mar 19, 2006, 10:09 AM :goodjob:!
So now Carthage and Germany will fight until the end of the world?
stocktracker Mar 19, 2006, 10:21 AM This shows once again that in a regicide game, your defense is your best offense. It seems odd that the city with the king in it is so lightly defended...
conquer_dude Mar 19, 2006, 10:23 AM Well, there were like five spearmen coming over a while back, but they were split when the raid on Damascus began. Updates will come soon. I'm eager to find out what happens next myself. :D
conquer_dude Mar 19, 2006, 10:59 AM I, the ancient storyteller is listening to Crazy Train as he does this update, so you know what's going to happen! :mischief:
After the Germans think they have enough defense with Bismark in Berlin, they start construction on the Oracle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/62.jpg
The Cartagian SoD
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/63.jpg
The battle begins! SoD aginast five spearmen, 1 swodsman, and 1 Bismark.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/64.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/65.jpg
And: Carthage's SoD was knocked weary, but it was succesful!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/66.jpg
I WIN!!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/67.jpg
And the ending stats:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/68.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/69.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/gundamdude0079/70.jpg
Well, that sums it up.
I plan to start a new story (Not a hotseat) tommorow or tonight even!;)
Takeo Mar 19, 2006, 11:08 AM In a way you actually lost 3 times and won once.
Cool game! I didn't even know you could play this way.
I'll have to give it a try.
conquer_dude Mar 19, 2006, 11:09 AM It's on PTW. You can go on multiplayer and you chose hotseat.
stocktracker Mar 19, 2006, 11:19 AM I thought this story would last a little longer, but the element of surprise keeps me reading.
conquer_dude Mar 19, 2006, 12:45 PM Alright! This is finished and I have started a new story called The Rising Sun (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=163834)
Mirc Mar 19, 2006, 01:41 PM Bravo !
Congratulations for winning!
BuckyRea Mar 20, 2006, 01:28 PM from now on I will call you "1 the Magnificent". What an excellent nickname!
seanos08 Mar 25, 2006, 08:59 PM Interesting concept using a Hotseat game so all sides can be viewed. It should be easy to build a scenario this way.
