Did anyone make guard tower UNITS ?(from Age of Empires for example) Not improvements .

It would be cool to have a really long upgrade path from a puny arrow tower in the ancient age to a bunker in the modern age .

I believe that someone did some landmines and the guys making star wars mod have a city defense consisting of shields and big guns. That would be a cool ideea!

Well I don't think so at least I've never seen one... there is the siege tower but that'S mot what you thought of... well there is the turret, some starwars defense buildings (shield genreator and the laser(plasma?) turrets.) I think there are also some bunkers for some ww2 mods (I think in soe there will also be some) hmm but all in all it's a very good idea! I would like to see the wodden spytower at the beginning upgrading to the mighte forcefieldgenerator...

It's nice to see that people like the idea :)
I know the Siege Tower - cool, but not in this case
I also know the mines - not very good but that is how i would like to see these towers ...
The StarWars turrete :hmm: it could be the last upgrade ... but i don't like all that much SF in mods :p Although i do recall seeing a Red Alert 1 turrete somewhere :hmm: that would be perfect but where did i see it :hmm:
A WW2 bunker unit ? - where ? that would be perfect also :)

This wasn't the first intention of this thread but if some unit makers would like to make the some guard towers (like for example the guard tower and bombard tower from AoE 2) we would apreciate it ... :)


Maybe if all these things get done in a month i would add them to my mod, if not ... oh well - expansion pack ;)

I used Aaglo's ancient wall unit, specifically the one that is just a wall tower and used that as a tower. Just added a machinegun attack sound to it.

Well the WWII style bunker is for example included in the Barbarossa scenario. Hmm in the \units\ folder it's called fortress...
Well i don't know where it can be found in the forum seperatly but i am sure if you ask around a little bit it should not be too difficult to find it.
I also remember Wyrmshadow making a mg-nest for SOE at least there was a preview

That bunker is just (one of the things) what i need :).
Now that i look closely at it the siege tower i realise it has what i need (arrows and catapult combination is cool) but those wheels are a little out of place ...

There is also an excellent ww2 bunker unit in the ww2 global scenario and a few of them in the old storm over europe mod( if you can find it i think all the older versions of this have been taken down).

Ok quinzy i am going to post 4 towers ... take your time , make them whenever you like :)

The last 2 pics are screenshots from the editor.

But i don't have the first game, but i found smth on google - i don't know if they are enough to make units out of them. If they are not enough TELL ME - i can get the game in a day or two.

ALSO the first picture has 4 towers in it; i don't want them all - i would like only the one on the far right ... the lighthouse looking one...
