I nominate my deputy Robboo. If he accepts the nomination I will decline my nomination.

I may had loss in the first elections but I will win this time, I nominate myself, UnitQ.

As a member of the Triumvirate, the Secretary of War is an important part of our nation and at this early stage of our history his actions and directives will help form our nations place in history.

A great military mind once wrote:
War is
A grave affair of state;
It is a place
Of life and death,
A road
To survival and extinction,
A matter
To be pondered carefully.

I feel this is the most important aspect of the SoW job. He must take every action seriously always remembering that each action is a building block or a stumbling block for our nation’s development and future.

My plans for our military are as follows. We must build our forces not only for attack but for defense.

1. Pairs of archers (hopefully we learn or trade for this soon) with 2 promotions make strong defensive pickets on forested hills and also non front line cities. They are also excellent "cheap" units to use to garrison on resource tiles. And to follow the main attack force in any battle to reinforce captured cities

2. Our UU is an excellent fast raider and rapid reaction force. In our home peninsula I can see having 2 to 3 pairs of chariots stationed in areas between cities to respond to any threat to our core cities. As members of our attack force I would want our chariots to cut roads and attack workers and stray units deep behind enemy lines. Road cutting is more critical in keeping the enemy for reinforcing their front lines.

3. Our basic attack force as of now looks to be a mix or spearmen and axmen. I strongly urge a mix of units in any attack. Spears should be used as mounted unit defenders for city raider promoted axmen.

4. If or when we develop other military technologies, we can use those units their strengths against our opponent’s weaknesses.

Wars are won before they start through planning, preparation and training. I have shown through my work as deputy SoW that I have the capability of preparing and planning our nation for war. And while no one wants war, if you need us my War department will be ready to obey the citizens wishes.
