I have yet to come accross it anywhere.
Although I am 99% sure the default of Noble will be taken for this game since it is all humans playings, I thought this might be an interesting topic for debate or just to be friendly and point it out to all teams :)
The difficulty of our Multi-Team Demogame has not been discussed, but maybe it should be since it does affect a couple of things:
1. Hut probability
for example on lower difficulties you can pop a worker or settler, higher difficulties net more barbarians
2.Base reasearch rate
I am sure there are more but you get the point.
So in the event it is Noble :cool:
If not does this need to be voted on?

Reason I say that is its a custom made map so resources will be put as Sirian sees fit and research rate will be constant for everyone. Am I missing something.

We're deciding on a game speed, and I think difficulty will also change the game speed. Thins will happen a lot faster if we're playing a Normal game on Settler than a Normal game on Diety.

don't forget barbs! on higher levels they emerge out of the FOW a lot faster and stronger!

Yes, not as much as it would in a single player game but it does affect quite a few aspects of the game.
However I do suggest that for all teams having the discussion that the difficulty level be no less than NOBLE or else extremely random events may GREATLY effect the game.
I.E. This is probably the msot important one:
on Difficulties lower than NOBLE you can pop a settler or worker from a goodie hut, this would be a HUGE advantage.

OK ..Now I see the importance..wasnt thinking about barbs at all. Good thing GeorgeOP and ybbor are my teammates to keep me from screwing up. ;)

Pointed out in our thread by DaveMcW:
Noble is the default, and every multiplayer game on Gamespy uses noble. Higher than noble you get slower research, less health and happiness, and more dangerous barbarians.
I don't see any reason to choose a different difficulty, but maybe we could let Sirian decide?
So maybe that could be an option :goodjob:

Right, your starting bonuses like free health and happiness to begin the game are affected, as are huts, etc. It doesn't have to do with JUST the AI.
