Higher than noble you get slower research, less health and happiness, and more dangerous barbarians. I don't see any reason to choose a different difficulty, but maybe we could let Sirian decide? But then I just reread the thread, and I see that I had verbally opted for Noble. When you made the above statement, I actually wondered how you could interpret, as it stood at the time, 1 Random, and a tie for Prince and Noble at 4 to be one for Sirian's Choice :confused: I was going to comment at the time, but then decided to wait for more votes ... I didn't realise that you were actually going to post in UN ... sorry :blush: Perhaps with polls that have no closing date, when these things occur ... it may be a good idea to post an intention of what you are planning to do, with a 1 day notice. I can see where confusion happened cos many people posted very confusing messages of wanting to vote for options which were not made clear by the game administrators ... however when they ended up voting they voted for a specific difficulty level ... and it is now plainly clear, that the late voters have chosen Prince. It may make things easier for the administrators as well as other teams didn't really understand that Sirian was an option ... I interpreted Random as being decided by the game's RNG. EDIT ... perhaps a legitimate reason is the lateness of some voters. classical_hero Feb 28, 2006, 05:11 AM We had alot of verbal voters saying Sirian so that it what I went for because many of those votes were way before what we have right now. gbno1fan Feb 28, 2006, 07:59 AM Out of principle, I agree with Fe. You should have waited until it was clear that the people wanted a specific option. However, at this point I do not believe you can change anything, and it is likely that Sirian will select one of the two we were bickering over anyway. Memphus Mar 06, 2006, 01:30 AM Now that it has been decided that the game will be played a prince the only thing that affects the early game is the hut probabilities: High Gold: 10% Low Gold: 20% Map: 10% Warrior: 10% Scout: 5% Experience: 5% Healing: 5% Teach: 10% Weak Barb: 15% Strong Barb: 5% Basically it boils down to 1/5 you pop barbs, meaning you might lose your exploring unit. However at this level I would still say it is worth the risk to pop huts, if sirian puts any on :mischief: |
