Please decide which difficulty level will work best for the Civ4 MTDG. This discussion will end no sooner than Saturday (2/25).

Since there is no AI what does the diffiulty determine besides barbs and happiness?

I would say Prince or Nobel. Am I a coward?

I believe it also effects research cost. Prince is fine with me.

difficulty effects happiness, health, barb bonuses. I'm not sure about the research cost but it likely does that as well. It could also effect production.

I think Prince is where most average players end up playing SP. So I think that would be best since everyone is used to the settings at that level.

With the difficulties I've had getting the game to run at all, I'm only on my 4th game (now I count), I started on Settler just to see how it worked and moved up a level with each one, so I've only got to Noble so far. Saying that I've certainly learnt in SGOTM never to be put off by hgher level than I would play SP, so would be happy to give it a go on Prince (or higher if that's what people want).

Noble is the default for PBEM so I voted that.
