Ok, So I won the game on a huge map on epic pace at Prince by building the spaceship well ahead of every else. Now I want to know how to win a cultral victory on Monarch on a Huge map at Epic pace. Anyone have suggestions?

I've never pulled off a cultural victory, so my advice is just the general sort. I would suggest you build lots of wonders (Which would require an Industrious Civ) and a lot of Temples, Monastery's, and Cathedrals. That means you'll need to have several religions present to make it worthwile. Other than that, you may have to play it by ear.

I haven't won at monarch but just won a game on prince, normal speed, 50,000 culture in three cities at 1904. Basically, I won with a hermitage in one city and buddhist stupas in the other two cities. Ideally, more religions would have spread to me. But in my game, I got buddhism early and then no other religions spread despite open borders with nearly every AI civ all game. This was on a inland sea map.

Basically, I cottaged the heck out of my three culture cities, had a GPF, and two other rinky dink cities that existed for the sole purpose of hosting theatres so I could build the globe in my GPF (basically built so when I switched to emancipation from caste system, I could still have 5 Great Artists. Also works nicely with slavery for rush building. I don't build any wonders when playing this although the Parthenon is a possibility.

read DaveMcW spoiler in the GOTM thread. He won the fastest cultural victory in the 2nd GOTM.

I've won quite a few cultural victories on Prince, but haven't tried with Monarch.

So far, they've all been with Cyrus. And most have utilized early Immortal rushes to claim Capital sites from 1 (in one case 2) nearby civs. Also, they've generally been on small continents where I was (or became) the only civ on the continent.

Lot's of religion is a good way to go, but isn't needed. If you're shy on religion, try to get 2 (or more) GP farms rolling, pumping out as many Great Artist's as possible early, and make them specialists in your 3 target cities. Specific wonders that are useful are Pyramids (early Representation to leverage all the settled GP's), Sistine Chapel (to get even more culture from those GP's), and the Parthenon (to help the GP farms). Running Caste System more than normal is beneficial to help control the GP farms to pump out Artists. And if you're isolated (like most of my small continent wins), running Mercantlism and getting Statue of Liberty are good plays to leverage the Sistine Chapel and Representation into even more benefit.

Get your military to Riflemen or Infantry and then let your military tech stall. Grab Electricity, Radio, and Mass Media (for their associated Culture generating Wonders), then push the culture slider as high as you can run and stagnate your research (if you're running Representation with Mercantilism and SoL, you'll still get some advancements).

In some respects, it ends up being a pretty boring game.

If you're not isolated, it'll be important to build and maintain close friendships with your neighbors. Hopefully you can use them as military defense against anybody who wishes to beat on you.

I find there is no time for electricity, radio, and mass media. My win at 1904 was only a handful of turns ahead of both gandhi and washington from completing the space race. I usually stall tech after democracy or military tradition ? (whatever the tech is that lets me get redcoats, when playing elizabeth)

I suppose you can win it the same way as in pretty much any other settings. You build 3 nice cities early on, preferably getting Pyramids and running reprentation, beeline to Liberalism and then switch to 100% culture. Add few cities as the time goes to attract religions (or you can discover them yourself on Monarch, I guess) and to up cathedral limit. That should give you a cultural win somewhere in 1750-1800 AD which should be fine on Monarch. I haven't actually tried Monarch/Huge/Epic though. Am I missing why the regular way won't work?

No reason why it shouldn't. In fact I think the larger world may make it slightly easier since you can sit around as a nice harmless medium-sized civilization and avoid getting into wars for territory and resources. Even if it means you also need more temples per cathedral.

While you can pull off a cultural victory by stopping research after Liberalism, I prefer to keep going until I have Electricity/Radio/Mass Media so I can build the associated wonders. I just got an early 16th century victory that way, on Monarch (standard-sized world, though). I think it might be time to start playing on Emperor.

You know, so far I've found the endgame to be fairly boring regardless of victory type. Either I outclass the opposition badly enough to make it mostly a formality, or the opposition outclasses me so badly that there is no hope of victory. Most of the actual fun is in the earlier bits of the game. Mercifully, the endgame is usually also quite short, and while a cultural victory may end up taking more turns than a military one it takes less time to play since I don't have to muck about moving all those armies around.
