 In World Builder, how do you change civilization starting locations and how can you change the civs allowed in the game? Every time I change the starting locations, the game resets the civs and their locations when I save and play the new map. I also don't understand the cheat code chipolte. It doesn't seem to do anything. The options available in World Builder are the same as they were without the cheat code.

The interface has become way too simplified. The big deal in my opinion is you have to actually start a game to begin making a map.

Ditto. You would think they would allow us to access the World Builder from the Main Menu.

Jeah, I really dislike the fact that you can't create a new map, with, for example, all ocean, so that you can start building from there. Also, quite a few options are hard to find.

...Or even the one from Civ II. I wasn't actually so impressed with Civ III's mapbuilder until "Conquests" gave us some real scenario-builing capabilities.
And the Civ II editor wasn't so !@$# picky about rivers either...
(sigh) you'd think Firaxis wouldv'e put some extra-special effort into the WorldBuilder...

I think it's meant to put off complete noobs, so we don't get as many low-quality mods & scenarios as civ3 got.
It's on different levels, so any major modifications need the tweaking of xml files. Which isn't that hard.
But yes, the worldbuilder is a bit too hard to start, but thats why we have the map editor programs in the utilities forum ;)
