View Full Version : The Ironic Bible
greekguy Feb 25, 2006, 02:30 PM The proud people of TNT would now like to present our current collaboration of the Ironic Bible. This thread will hold all the stories of that the people of TNT "find". We would now like to share with you the first 3 stories we have written. Please remember that not every story is in time order. So a story we post today might be taking place further ahead in time then a story we post a few weeks from now. We'll try to put everything in order in the Index though. I hope you all enjoy. :)

gmaharriet Feb 25, 2006, 08:13 PM A fun read of some highlights of your history. :goodjob:

I'm a really good plagarist. ;)
General_W Feb 25, 2006, 09:02 PM I'm a really good plagarist.
Hmmm... perhaps that's why I was flashing back to the Holy Hand-grenade of Antioch while reading that.
Very nice guys!
...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy."
RegentMan Feb 26, 2006, 03:39 AM Good job! Newspapers, the Ironic Bible... great! :goodjob:
Robi D Feb 26, 2006, 03:30 PM Is that a hint of Monty Python i detect there donsig
donsig Feb 26, 2006, 08:21 PM Is that a hint of Monty Python i detect there donsig
More than a hint. Guilty as charged as pointed out by General_W. I probably should have saved it till we had gunpowder then I could have made it a hand grenade and just lifted the whole thing without modifying it. Would have been perfect seeing as we're TNT!
Too bad no one decided to play the French. Would have much more to steal then. :D
Glad to see we're all up on our Monty Python.
peter grimes Feb 27, 2006, 08:06 AM Much fun in reading! I eagerly wait the next installment.
Tubby Rower Mar 09, 2006, 06:01 AM too funny.
BCLG100 Mar 09, 2006, 04:17 PM there will be an update soon, just some of us have been swamped with coursework :(
greekguy Mar 18, 2006, 08:36 PM Attention nations of the world! A new Ironic bible update is here! Four new scrolls make up this update. They can be found in the first index post, with the word "NEW" next to them in big bold letters. Please enjoy these brillant works by brillant minds, including 2 scrolls by a first time scribe lost_civanatares. :)
RegentMan Mar 19, 2006, 03:11 AM :goodjob: I love the creation story.
Dinsog is the Anti-Meleet?
BCLG100 Mar 19, 2006, 06:20 AM Yer you may notice the first part of the creation story from elsewhere
classical_hero Mar 19, 2006, 10:22 AM And which version. ;)
Robi D Mar 19, 2006, 05:47 PM I glad i've provided so much inspiration for your stories :D
Tubby Rower Mar 20, 2006, 05:19 AM It's quite funny that according to your legends The Rik has created you the smartest of all peoples yet you needed MIA to gift you into the Middle Ages.
General_W Mar 20, 2006, 10:11 AM It's quite funny that according to your legends The Rik has created you the smartest of all peoples yet you needed MIA to gift you into the Middle Ages. Or else they were so smart they didn't even have to do the research themselves?
Like my daddy always said… there's "smart enough to do the work", and then there's "smart enough to not have to do it."
Besides… it was more like Christmas… Gifts for everybody! :xmascheers:
Tubby Rower Mar 20, 2006, 10:14 AM yup they sure out-smarted you. You got one tech from them and they got 6 from you. Maybe you guys should rescind the SCI trait of the Greeks. ;)
PLus you swapped free techs which is a wash anyway.
greekguy Apr 15, 2006, 10:31 AM Attention nations of the world! 2 new scrolls are now ready for your viewing pleasure. The new scrolls have the word "NEW" in big bold letters next to them. Enjoy! :)
Sir Bugsy Apr 16, 2006, 03:35 PM Doesn't read like scripture. Reads more like a missive from the government. But hey! I'm just an idiot. :crazyeye:
lost_civantares Apr 16, 2006, 04:15 PM That of the scripture must be read like it is, the solid and deep word of Meleet! So as the deep (and endless) voice of our government, always looking for our money in the deepest depths, comes, so the great Meleet comes out of the depths looking for hertics (such as the despised RNG cult) out of the depths.
Does that help the poor idiot wanderers? :p
TimBentley Apr 17, 2006, 08:42 PM Doesn't read like scripture. Reads more like a missive from the government. But hey! I'm just an idiot. :crazyeye:
No separation of church and state here.
greekguy Jul 31, 2006, 12:29 PM Attention remaining nations of the world! The final scroll of TNT has been edited into the first post. this scroll contains the last words of the people of Iron, written by lost_civantares. Enjoy and good luck to the remaining teams!
General_W Jul 31, 2006, 05:24 PM Nice ending TNT!
Reminds me of… “We cannot get out. We cannot get out. They have taken the Bridge and second hall. We cannot get out. The end comes... drums, drums in the deep... they are coming.”
gmaharriet Jul 31, 2006, 06:12 PM Very well written. It made me a bit misty-eyed. :(
lost_civantares Jul 31, 2006, 06:23 PM Reminds me of… “We cannot get out. We cannot get out. They have taken the Bridge and second hall. We cannot get out. The end comes... drums, drums in the deep... they are coming.”Yeah, I was thinking the same thing after I wrote it too.
fe3333au Aug 01, 2006, 12:23 AM Well written ... and a nice way to end TNT's game :salute:
