I have a new resource idea. Why not have camels. They would commenly be found in deserts. They could either have their own units or be a good replacement for horses. I think they should have a movement space of 2 but if their moving through deserts they get a extra movement point.

Nice idea but it would weaken the Arabian UU. Currently they can effectiveky produce knights without iron or horses. If they need to get the camel resource then an atypical start location for Arabs (ie in the tundra) effectively rules out their UU.

As I said. The camel could be a REPLACEMENT for the horse and get a extra movement point in the desert. Also it's preety unfair that you can build a camel archer without the need of even iron!:mad:

As a REPLACEMENT for horses they'd only be any sense in a total conversion mod. With the units as they are, how can you justify getting rid of horses to replace them with camels. There are currently nine units that use horses; what are you going to do with them? Will they all be camel units? Not sure what the cossaks will think about that.

Yeah that is what I meant. It make a little easy for those that don't get horses.

Because they get all caught in my work boat fishing nets.

Thought having camels roaming the desert would be a nice resource alternative and a little more accurate i suppose for civs starting in and near deserts.

I would suggest changeing the Camel Archer as a UU though.

[Full Disclosure: never built one, slew a few, not idea if these things are any good]

I'd think a guy running around with a curved scimitar to be more iconic of an arab civilizations (and I'm excluding suicide bombers as a UU on general principles).
