I usually play a civilization that doesn't favor any particular religion. I pretty much just let any religion be in my cities. Unfortunately, this means that the other civilizations hate me since I wouldn't convert to a particular religion. What would be a good way to handle this? Would the United Nations council enable me to force other civilizations to not bother me over religion? Or do I just convert whenever I am demanded to do so, then revert?

is there a resolution that forces everyone to adopt free religion? you could also bribe your neighbours to adopt free religion i think.

I do the same atheist throughout thing and it does hurt my relations, but not as much as it would to some if I changed my faith to a different one then theirs.
Just try to get one or two strong allies who don't hate eachother and aren't near eachother, if they share a religion, good for you, try to get it.

to add to that Isabella will always be pissed to the brink of WAR if you aren't her religion.

Isabella has never declared war on me and i am NEVER her religion. In fact i dont think ive ever been on good terms with her.

I guess i just have a good military or shes never on my border because ive always wondered why she declares war on everyone else on Civ fanatics.

And yes i do play on prince and she still has never declared war on me.

on higher difficult levels, isabella is pathetic weak and rarely be able to declare on anyone. Btw, what is the point of not converting to any religion? It sounds like you dont favor cavalries, infantries and tanks either and would rather die than build any of them

I never convert to my enemies religion when they ask me. Heck i dont convert even if they are my friends. For some reason i always have a sense of sticking to the religion i found.

Of course i have never played past prince so maybe i would have to convert on really really high difficulty levels.

And not to flame or anything but if you convert to your enemies religion to avoid war your just a wimp. Build up your military. If they want to declare war on me i welcome it. And isabella is a wimp i love to see her mad! :D
