You do need the SMTP, and I'm also pretty sure the auto-email feature doesn't work very well (if at all) in this patch.

Well it works for me every time.
I have another game going on and i have set my information(e-mail and smtp) and when i end my turn it saves the game and asks if i want to send the savegame. In that window it asks what to whom i want to send it.

1st u have to open the game main menu window(press Esc once), there is "your details" link and there u need to put your e-mail and smtp.

Forgot to try the email thing. I'll try to remember next time. Heh.

Bad news I'm afraid: My home network seems to have contracted some bad ass problem and my computer is the only one that can load the web at all. Despite lots of (so I thought) clever technical geekery and many hours sitting on hold to talk to useless broadband "support" we've got no where. My local Geek shop has agreed to sort it out but I have to take the router and the other computers there so they can make them 'communicate'. They said it will all be sorted within a week, hopefully earlier. The long and short is that from tomorrow morning (Thursday GMT 0) I'll be offline for up to a week. Hopefully back by Monday night all things going well.

Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience - this has been fast paced thus far, hopefully that will continue when I return. Meanwhile, see if you can get the move back to me by the end of tonight and we'll have another move!

We all have our share of problems, and we all know that there will be various delays due to vacations and other such things throughout the year.

If you had gotten the turn to me about 15 minutes earlier, I'd have been able to kick it back out before leaving for work. As it is, I won't be able to do it for another 9-10 hours from now (ie. sometime shortly after 6pm EST).

Patch 1.61 is out guys!

So we'll all need to upgrade. I'll be upgrading tonight when I get home. So when I eventually get the turn, I'll be sending it along saved from the new version.

Just looking at that now HAK. Will the games be able to be continued with new patch?

Yeah. I havn't actually tried it, but I'm sure it will. When they came out with 1.52 it was able to load the 1.09 games. It was only 1.09 that couldn't load the 1.00 games.
They would have a lot of angry players if 1.61 couldn't load the 1.52 games, so they would have definately made it capable of doing that. Though 1.52 certainly won't be able to load 1.61 games.

Well I sent on my last game before I read this and saw there was a patch, hopefully hasn't caused any problems... I'll patch up now.

Opened turn from HAK Save 160AD in v1.61. Came up as year 320AD when opened game, didnt realise until I sent save to Kake, and went back and checked?

That's been the normal trend that we've noticed in the converting of the saves from 1.52 to 1.61.
The one I sent you I realized I opened using the 1.52 that I still have on my PC in another folder, so you received it in 1.52. When it convertd to 1.61 the dates changed.

I've seen this already in the other games that I've loading from 1.52 into my 1.61 and sent on to the next player. It doesn't actually change what's happened, as far as we can tell. It's just changed the date. Though it looks like some of the games the date moves forward and some it moves backwards, since on of my games went from 1880 AD to 1775 AD.

I have to say that i was a little surprised when i saw the 320AD save file. Then i came here and read the patch(downloaded) info.

What's more it seems to be present no matter what is going on, and therefore doesn't appear to be associated with any discovery/unit/wonder/religeon etc...

Hmm, I havn't really been paying attention and barely notice the music anymore. It sort of just floats through my mind without touching any braincells...I'll have to listen more closely next turn. :D

Built the Great Library normally and got a Great Engineer on the turn of completion of the GL. So put him straight into the Chichen Itza was 27 turns down to 1.

Is it JR that has vanished, or is it someone else? If JR is still around, then he can try to locate someone to replace whoever it is that is holding up the game.
But if JR is gone, there's not much we can do without the Admin password.

I have sent 1040AD file onwards and have not received next file. If iu have sent the next turn to JR, then its JR who is holding the game.

I just dropped JR from another game that was sputtering also...

Yeah, it was 1055AD that I sent to JR on Aug 1st. I've just sent him another email, but if he doesn't respond it's likely this one is dead.
