It was suggested that you end everyturn with this....
end of turn 1, 4000 BC
tax - 0%/ science 100% / culture 0%
researching Fusion due in 10 turns
pressing enter
If no instructions are given for a situation, then it is left up to the discretion of the DP. Otherwise instructions must be followed even if you gave them yourself. ;)
Sigma Mar 01, 2006, 12:37 PM Make sure you add the Governor of City 3 to your instruction checklist.
Tubby Rower Mar 01, 2006, 12:51 PM II. States
IIA. States are groups of cities run by a single Governor.
IIB. Cities within states do not have their own Governor.
1. Governors of States may designate a civil government led by a Mayor in cities under their control.
A. Mayors may be appointed or elected in a special election depending on the wish of the Governor of the State. The way of choosing Mayors does not need to be the same for all Cities in a given State.
2. A Governor of a State chooses how many cities if any will have Mayors in a given term.
IIC. The Capital of [Name of our Nation Here] will never be a part of a state.
I have read this to imply that the second governor was over both of the other cities until a new state is established.
DaveShack Mar 01, 2006, 01:45 PM No state exists until it is created. Until then, each city has its own governor.
Tubby Rower Mar 01, 2006, 02:09 PM Ok fixed....
Whomp is UP
Tubby Rower is On Deck
robboo Mar 01, 2006, 02:40 PM Are we going to wait till we have a president and chief justice.
GeorgeOP Mar 01, 2006, 03:16 PM We don't need a Chief Justice to play a turn chat, and the President at this time only has to worry about the tax rate which he can't change by more than 10%. I think we can have one turn chat without those positions filled. Also, wasn't this next turn chat going to be shortened for some reason?
Sigma Mar 01, 2006, 03:35 PM Also, wasn't this next turn chat going to be shortened for some reason?
Yes. I plan on requesting we stop the TC after we're finished researching alphabet, so I can see what trades we can make before we start researching our next tech. (i.e., if we can't get any religious techs through trade, we might decide to get those out of the way) Alphabet will be completed in ~8 turns, so it won't be much shorter than normal.
Chillaxation Mar 03, 2006, 09:32 PM Ok fixed....
Whomp is UP
Tubby Rower is On Deck
Tubby - I believe you played last term, in which case Bengeance is on deck, followed by you, DS and CT by votes among DPs who played last term.
Tubby Rower Mar 04, 2006, 06:19 AM Last term we went by vote tally. I was just following precedent. Since Whomp & I tied he got the first position.
I'll leave it as me on deck until I hear confirmation of DP play order.
Chillaxation Mar 04, 2006, 07:15 AM It seems to me that if the order had been taken only from the vote tallies (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=156325), the order would have been you, Dave, CT, CivGeneral. That wasn't the order, because neither you nor Civ had played the previous term. The order was you, Civ, Dave, CT: first DPs who hadn't played last term, by votes, then those who had played Term 1, by votes.
Am I missing something?
Tubby Rower Mar 04, 2006, 07:18 AM I don't know... I was just trying to get the ball rolling so we didn't waste time. I'm fine with bumping Benge up to on deck if he is.
so Whomp is UP - playing tomorrow
Bengeance is ON DECK
Bengeance Mar 05, 2006, 11:09 PM Yeah, that is fine with me.
Tubby Rower Mar 06, 2006, 06:07 AM I changed the play order... I'll be gone from Friday to Monday which could be another TC. So I just dropped myself to the bottom of the chain.
Play Order :
Whomp
Bengeance UP
DaveShack ON DECK
Chieftess
Tubby Rower
Bengeance Mar 06, 2006, 07:06 AM I'll try to have the turnchat on Wednesday unless we need more time for tech trading discussion
Tubby Rower Mar 06, 2006, 07:14 AM Go ahead and create the thread. The trade stuff shouldn't hold us up since the polls were posted today.
Bengeance Mar 10, 2006, 08:10 AM Looks like Daveshack is UP and Cheiftess is ON DECK
DaveShack Mar 11, 2006, 10:21 PM Thread posted.
Chillaxation Mar 12, 2006, 06:49 PM Chieftess, you are up. Tubby, you are on deck.
robboo Mar 12, 2006, 07:39 PM RE Chieftess..you might want to contact her. I dont think she will be plaing due to her grandmother being in the hospital. You guys might want to skip her. Check out her Sec of State thread.
Chillaxation Mar 13, 2006, 09:05 AM You're right, Rob. Don't I feel like an insensitive clod.
Tubby Rower Mar 13, 2006, 06:30 PM I'll post a TC instuction thread tomorrow.
Prayers go out for Chieftess and her family....
Chillaxation Mar 13, 2006, 10:49 PM Tubby is up, and, because of Chieftess' family emergency, Whomp is on deck.
Tubby Rower Mar 14, 2006, 05:53 AM Instruction thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=163093)posted
Time is Friday @ 5:30 pm EST or 2230 GMT for the Europeans who don't like to stay up late.
Sigma Mar 20, 2006, 10:19 AM It's already been 3 days since we've had a TC, and Whomp is out of town until tomorrow (it's in the absence registry). What should we do about it?
Tubby Rower Mar 20, 2006, 10:31 AM Whomp Should be back, but I'd say that Bengeance should be UP and Whomp on deck
So Bengeance post your instruction thread.
Chillaxation Mar 20, 2006, 06:51 PM Bengeance - please review the thread on Chieftess's absence (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=3835658) about a possible trade we can make.
Tubby Rower Mar 27, 2006, 05:42 AM Whomp is up... Should we have an office to keep the order of DP's in order. It appears as though this is a needed job.
Swissempire Mar 27, 2006, 06:13 AM THe DP's should just appoint a head DP at the beggining of the term who will keep things organized.
Methos Mar 27, 2006, 08:21 AM THe DP's should just appoint a head DP at the beggining of the term who will keep things organized.
I'd suggest instead either:
1.) The Chief DP is chosen by which DP earned the most votes during election,
2.) The Chief DP is picked by the President.
ravensfire Mar 27, 2006, 09:16 AM This should fall under the President's duties both legally (see catch-all clause) and conceptually as they are the head of the Government, they should organize the how the actions of the government will be executed.

Methos Mar 27, 2006, 08:02 PM So are we going to have another turn set played before the new term? I don't see a reason not too.
Edit: BTW, is there a set date on when a turn set is played, or is it just whenever?
Chillaxation Mar 27, 2006, 09:30 PM Whomp, please post your instruction thread.
Methos Mar 28, 2006, 07:46 PM I'm curious, is there a term three Minister of Culture? There's been no instructions posted so far, so I didn't know if I was supposed to post instructions in Whomps thread. My term doesn't start until April, but since there doesn't appear to be an active MoC I wasn't for sure.

There was a Term 3 MoC, but I don't think he ever posted anything related to the office. Given the the big warning in the thread and the current litigious climate I can understand a reluctance to post there and start your term under a cloud of controversy.
You might consider posting something very similiar to an instruction thread (without sounding quite as official and binding) in the citizens' forum. We all have the right to express an opinion. Of course, others can reply and express their opinion :)
Whomp is running the turnchat and he seems a pretty relaxed kinda guy, so I don't really see any major problems - unless you're trying to change our culture strategy (and if you do that you should be consulting the citizens anyway ;) )
robboo Mar 29, 2006, 11:58 AM Methos...
If I was you..I would sit on it. You could contact people to request things but I wouldnt put any "official" weight behind it. Make suggestions saying .."hey next term I plan on doing this..if you could slip it in this TC it would be great". Good luck with the job...I am sure you and I( as SoW) will have very different request of the build que...
