Is there anywhere that breaks the expenses down further than military, colony upkeep, ect? I just started a new game and got quickly crippled by expenses. I either overexpanded or built too many space stations, but I can't seem to get an exact listing of what costs me what. Any ideas?

Open the Civilization Manager. There you can see how much you spend on each colony, on your ships, on research etc etc.

If you want to know how much maintenance you pay for each building in a colony, double click on the planet and select the tile where your building is built on. You will see on the lower part of the screen a description of the building, what it offers and how much you pay for it.

If you want to know how much you pay for a specific ship or starbase, double left click on it and you will see the it's details.
