I did a search via google on the release date for Gal CiV 2 in the Benelux countries (Belgium, The Netherlands…) but all I could find was “March 3”. So yesterday, I looked at all the big stores in my hometown but galactic civilizations was nowhere to be seen. Also, when I look at the sites from stores in the Benelux I always get a “not found” message if I look for the game. Even in "future releases" there is no sign of it....

So my question is..... Has anyone from the Benelux been able to find the game in a store?
Or has the release date been pushed back for us? Maybe it’s now the same as in Germany?

I went yesterday to gamemania (Belgium) because on their website there was indicated that the game would be available on March 3th.
Unfortunately they hadn't received their copies of the game and now their website says that the delivery is postponed to an unknown date... :cry:
So, there is definitely a problem with the deliveries in the Benelux!

No coincidence. It's always the same... Our small country is so easily overlooked in these things :(
In the release of games, Europe is most of the time a few days or weeks behind North America and it is not fun to watch you guys brag about the game while we haven't even had the chance to play it :cry:

Not only your small country is overlooked, your neighbouring small country has been ovelooked to. The store where I normally buy my games has never heard of the game (at least according to the site) so I'll have to wait a bit.

You can buy the game online (from www.galciv2.com), download it and get it on your mailbox later.
You'll have to pay a bit more but you can get the game earlier.

Gamemania Belgium just updated their release date to 9/3/06 so should be there tomorrow or at least friday(if they deliver late). The netherlands often have a release date similar to belgium(thought sometimes with a few days difference)

According to Bol.com the game will be released on the 10-03-06. So it seems reasonable to assume that this weekend will see it's release in the Benelux. Hurray!

This evening I went to Gamemania in my hometown and there it was, waiting for me, my own copy of Galciv II :D

I'm at work for the moment, so this is a bit guessing. In the version that I have, there isn't any possibility to choose a language, nor did I see any indication that it was a localized version.
I think there is just one version, in English, for whole Europe.
But then again, I'm guessing for the moment...

As far as I can tell, one version for Europe, or at least we, Belgians, get the UK/English version

I bought the game today at Fnac Leuven (last copy)
It's the limited edition (collector's edition, but UK/English)
Gamemania had sold out in just 1 day and will be receiving more copies by the end of next week. Apparently Stardock or Paradox didn't anticipe the success of the game and has problems keeping up with printing the copies.

I hope it's the same version for all Europe. Eitherwise, in Wallonia, I've got all the change to get the french's.

Dynabyte (NL) says they expect it today (the 14th of March) in their shops. So maybe we can be lucky tomorrow.
