Figured this question would show up sooner or later, so I opted for sooner. What race/s are your favorite to play as? One of the main ten or a custom race?

I like playing the Dominion of Korx. I don't think I've ever lost money playing as them! Those extra trade routes are incredible! And because they lean towards Evil, it's almost free to obtain that Starbase Upgrade Cost Waiver, which makes it really cheap to build those Influence and Battle Stations Upgrades...

I've been playing a custom race, from the Terran template, using the Populist party, with the following stats:

The Love Monkeys

Economics: +30
Morale: +40
Diplomacy: +40

Still tinkering around with the techs.

Iconians, just because they are cool, and if you add a few points into diplomacy/research they make for a great race

I like the Torians. Mainly for the Green. :p

I like the Yor! They are so cool and almost impossible to culturally take over!

By the way, how do you reset a race you've customized?

Go to: MyDocuments/MyGames/GalCiv2 and delete the raceconfig file.

Thalans rule all! They have a good production bonus, plus they are the only non-humanoid race, which I like (for some weird reason).

Lately I've been on a Drengin kick, and fully playing the role too. Evil all the way. I make sure I always pick on the Torians too.

~ Btw Yor is a good pick too. Love the miniturization bonus they have.

The Yor are a blight upon the galaxy, and must be vigorously exterminated.

If you're doing Love Monkeys, shouldn't you have a massive population growth boost? :D

I'm using Terrans as well, but fiving myself:

+50% Research
+25 Luck
+25 Creativity
+2% Sensor

I have only played a couple of games with the Terrans. I always end up trashing the Torians, I don't know, their dumb look annoys me.

Usually I play either the Terrans or a custom race, though I've played a couple of maps as the Drengin when I felt like cutting loose and steamrolling everything in my path. :D (It's just such a pity Terror Stars didn't make it into this one...)
