We on the staff will eventually get around to working on Quattro, the permanent Hall of Fame for Civilization IV. As such, now's a good time for any suggestions, recommendations or ideas for the competitive venue that will stand the test of time*.

*Or at least the time between now and Civ V.

Hello!
I think in pernament rules you should exclude games with anarchy exploit.
And I also think, that the maximum number of revolution shoud be set to avoid games (almost all top games in diety and immortal - thera are exceptions too for example : my gamegs) with a number of revolution to avoid runnin out of gold when you only attacking with praatorian without bulkding an economy (courthause, market, etc).

I am waiting for the anarchy exploit to be fixed in the next patch. We will see.

Something that I would like to see is a personal HOF in there. As in a simple link or drop down that would only let you see games that you have submitted. That way you could see which victory conditions you have currently accomplished. Wouldn't be that hard, just draw from the same datafield that the mysubmissions page does instead of from all submitted games.

Some other nice additions to the personal HOF would also be the ability to include your accepted but not published games in your own HOF. When I am trying for particular spots in the HOF I hate have to go to my submissions and look through all my accepted games to see which ones achieved what condition and when. Would be nice if you could get a preview before they are published.

Another personal HOF idea would be to include each entries submitted rank so you can see how you are doing in relation to everyone else. This could be on the personal HOF page or could just be in the submitted games list to show how you stack up. (Having it in the submitted games list probably wouldn't work since you would be different ranks on different tables so nevermind that).

I suspect you will have to wait for a long time (may be for eternity) before that happen. When I document the anarchy method (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=152148), I did also give my prediction on when I think it will be fixed. Since I said it will work for "Game version: Patch 1.52 or later", I don't expect Firaxis to prove me wrong anytime soon.;)

If it's not patched, we will.

I want to be able to search by everything.

Leader, map type, checkbox options, everything.

Will there be any final results of beta HoF when the permanent HoF arrives?

Also, I'd like to see peak positions & longest occupying of nr 1 spot.

Allow only these size/speed combinations:

Duel: Quick
Tiny: Quick
Small: Quick, Normal
Standard: Normal, Epic
Large: Epic, Marathon
Huge: Marathon

i thing that is not a good idea.let the player decide the game speed.

Then all the best games will be played on Marathon.

I completely agree with this idea. Otherwise everybody needs to play marathon for the best games.

Huge: Marathon

But with this all the "best" games would be Quick on Duel, Tiny Normal or quick on Small etc.

This would be a restriction as well forcing players to only exercise Quick speed for Duel, Tiny etc.

Why not a table with speed category separated.

If you want to make Quick the "official, headline" speed of Small and Duel maps, that's fine.

However, this would only work if we had the ability to look beyond the artificial restrictions of the main tables and search the database for records of our own preference.

You know, my request.

I'd like to see the exploit of spawning so close to AI Civs that they don't settle allowing a win in less than 10 turns or so excluded from the list as well.

When the permanent HOF arrives, the switch would decidedly happen with an update.

We don't have a target date or deadline. We are working on it. My guess would be a few months.

No, there are #1 games with normal epic and quick speed. Look at Bram's diplomatic entry.

Yeah, the speed advantage on Marathon only really works for aggressive games, where Marathon greatly speeds up troop movement rates relative to turn speed. Now that anarchy time has been patched, epic speed seems better to me than Marathon for builder-type games.

If there is some kind of limit on game speeds--I can see both sides to the argument--I would hope that we aren't forced into quite those narrow of restrictions. Why not at least allow normal speed for tiny and duel maps, for example?

Any game speed may be used.

When looking at Shadowsong's Deity guide I see quick is best for time and space race.

@Denniz:

Uh, yeah, I sounded pretty stupid there. I had just been reading another thread, and I thought the reference was to Quattromaster not Quattro. I see now that this is an old thread. Duh!

Quattromasters is in development, not available to the public yet. It is basically the Civ4 equivalent of Civ3's Quartermasters (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ3/quartermasters.php). When it's ready for public consumption we'll make sure you all know about it ;).
