Personally, I find that I am always pleased, or usually friendly with Cyrus. He rarely wants war with me, loves my religion, and we always have similar enemies. On the other hand, me and tokugawa seem to have a problem, but he has problems with everyone.

I think Frederick is the only one I like having as a neighbour.

Gimme Ghandhi as a neighbor anyday. He is a nice guy and generally I can talk him into becoming a good trade partner.

I bump into America more commonly though... they usually tend to be rather friendly.

I agree with blargh, I always breathe a sigh of relief if I see good old Freddy's in the game. I often seem to get along quite well with Ceasar & Roosevelt too.

Musa, Cyrus, Ceasar, Hatty and Bismark are all usually friendly to me.

Catherine and Isabella would jump my bones in a heartbeat, if they thought they could get away with it.

Napolean always demands things 'till I'm sure I can take him out.

I don't know about Monty. After reading about him, I take him out as soon as posible.

Exactly right.

Although, if I had to choose a leader or two, I'd say Ghandi or Frederick.

Any non-Financial peacenik civ that's not my neighbor. Leaves a pretty short list, all the rest I kill :)

Financial civs == not good friends, these are the ones that'll go for spaceship 200 years before the rest. Better to kill them off, or at least pillage all their towns. Leaves more time for dominating the world. :crazyeye:

Victoria is one you really don't want to leave alone, nor Mansu Musa. Both of these can pull off crazy space race wins.

If they're not my neighbor, Cyrus, Hatshepsut, Roosevelt, and a few others make good long-term friends. They're usually pretty powerful due to their expansionist nature, and tend to have a good tech pace, yet not overly powerful to the point you have to worry about them pulling ahead.

Victoria and I usually get along pretty well. Too bad, I'd rather have Lizzy any day.

I always am friendly with Hatepshut right up until I send a few stacks next to Thebes, Memphis, and Phi-Rameses. Mansa's almost always friendly, but he's dangerous to leave in a position of power.

Ditto for Cyrus

Especially Cryus -- with his relatively cheap Immortals in the early game he can attack often and with greater force.

I get along best with Japan; not sure why, but giving away technology seems to help!

It depends on my goals, if i want to conquer the world, i get along with the smalled militarily powerful country, have them attack someone and then take over them myself while their forces are distracted. so in the end i dont like having anyone next to me

Cyrus I think is generally the most amiable without ever quite becoming a threat.

For some reason I have got along rather beautifully with Catherine and Qin. Genghis is nice too if he is far away. Toku depends from game to game, if he is far away...if he is close, war will ensue. He seems to have a habit of attacking weak nations which I don't mind attacking either, so this occasionally brings us close enough for *gasp* open borders. And of course good thing about Toku is that everyone else hates him, so they won't complain when you attack him :)
And Monty is useful if he is far away, he is easy to persuade for attacking someone :)

Frederick, Gandhi, Hatse, Mansa and Washington usually are doing too well for my taste. And Alexander is no good as an ally, best you can hope from him is that he is far away and irritating to someone else. Similarly, both French rulers a) suck and b) are annoying.

Cyrus is my fav..... he's mellow and he,s easy to take over

the game im playing (japan continents normal size) cyrus was blocking me from expansion so I decided to grab all his cities, witch they were well placed on the map. easiest civ erradication that I had to do !

Mansa, usually friendly right up until invasion time.

Him, and Hept, she's never once declared war on me, despite all the abuse I heap on her throught my games.

Im almost always friendly with Catherine and Cyrus, and Cyrus has never declared war on me! My most common enemies are Isabella and Montezuma, who i can never thrust.

Hatty is a very friendly AI, on Emperor on this testing thing she even gifted me tech despite our borders clashing and her empire being much more powerful than mine.

I think Mansa is also very friendly, too friendly as he'll go onto win if he is allowed enough time and room.

Togu, Alexander and Izzy are complete and utter gits the whole time no matter what!

Hatty first and then probably Mansa.

Always quite friendly with Elizabeth/Victoria. Washington/Roosevelt normally OK, Hatty and Mansa invariably good relations.

Everyone else it's very much how you treat them - deny the above guys a tech, trade or money, they seem to be less offended - everyone else it seems to really affects how they see me.

Montezuma - kill at first sight!

Cyrus and, for some unfathomable reason, Bismark. They both even seem rather polite even when I attack them. Hatshepsut is usually peaceful with me but will attack others as will Bismark and Cyrus. Montezuma and Isabella are really "loose cannons" and I make them priority eliminations.

Mansa, usually friendly right up until invasion time.

Him, and Hept, she's never once declared war on me, despite all the abuse I heap on her throught my games.

Hept is a good one, and so is Ghandi. They never start the war.....But, don't start one with them. I played a triangle game with them and Catherine....I got my butt handed to me by Ghandi. It wasn't pretty. LOL

I hate seeing Hept at the same time though. I know, if a space race is gonna be won...It's gonna be her that wins it. :(

Napoleon, J Ceaser, Alex, and Monty love to jump my bones at any infraction. Doorknobs.

Probably Hatty and Mansa.

In the current game I'm playing (as Caesar), all the civs wound up on one continent. Mansa is spread out in a band to my South. We've traded resources and techs--he even gifted me one--and I converted to his religion. We're best buds!

He's currently acting as a buffer between me and Peter, leaving me to sweep around the continent and take out Monty, Saladin, the Incas, and Washington. When they're done, I'll flip a coin...

I'm almost always friendly with either American (especially FDR), and usually get along well with Cyrus and, strangely enough, Genghis Khan. With Alexander, I have noticed an interesting pattern. In the early-to-mid game, he is frequently pleased with me and we get along great. However, towards the industrial age and modern age, these good feelings dissipate and he seems to enjoy becoming a nuisance, at least until I decide that his territory would look better in a different color.

As for others, Montezuma's hostility towards me borders on absurd at times, and I can't stand Napoleon either.

well for me its Elizabeth. when she is in the game we are always close. there are some others that are sometimes cause i play with random personalities but she is my ally all the time.

Ghandi always trades extra stuff with me, sometimes without asking for anything in return. I've NEVER seen another AI share stuff with me freely.

Mar 09, 2006, 02:03 AM
Mansa all the way, and Hapsy second. They're good peaceful trade partners and have never betrayed or beaten me.

I don't like to see Frederic, he's the only leader who've beat me in a space race so far and he tends to have an insane progression rate in tech as well as a top army.

That's probably not a good sign. According to the game documentation, Ghandi shares stuff with weaker civs...

I find me and J Ceasar get along fine enough... And Saladin is usually on my kill list... I think its because he picks up a religion and never shares it, so I pickup another and never get open borders with him.... then its all downhill from there...

Anyone wish Theodora was back in the game? She'd wipe the floor with Catherine, IMHO.

Just a thought!
