View Full Version : race bonuses?
Ghost Mar 06, 2006, 12:13 AM When I choose a race it says that it gets special bonuses (like the Yor have 100 loyalty) but if I change any abilities the bonuses go away. Is this suposed to happen? If i start the game without adding the rest of the ability points and quit, the next game the stats disapear as well. Does anyone know exactly how this is suposed to work?
Killstar Mar 06, 2006, 09:11 AM That' a complaint I had too...I'm hoping Stardock will give us a way to reset them back to default in a future update. In the meantime the only solution I've found is here:http://tgnforums.stardock.com/?ForumID=162&AID=102631
Ghost Mar 06, 2006, 09:22 AM Ok thanks
but do the original race bonuses apply to the game if you dont add new ones? Because things like the 100 loyakty Yor bonus are not possible to get with just abbility points.
BlizzardGR Mar 06, 2006, 10:58 AM I'm pretty sure that those bonuses stay regardless of what abilities you choose. I could be wrong though.
Ghost Mar 06, 2006, 05:26 PM if someone can try this i would appreciate it because as soon as you change something the list under "race bonuses" changes and the original ones disapear
Tboy Mar 08, 2006, 10:47 AM I have had this problem happen too, but only with certain races (the only one I know of is the Altarians). I've posted in the feedback for the 1.0x patch thread, and hopefully this will be fixed in a patch. Unfortunately, the linked thread does not help with this problem, and it'll probably only be fixed in a patch (which I'm desperately waiting for!!!).
woodelf Mar 08, 2006, 11:05 AM Stardock has been incredible with patches so far. I bet come this Friday we'll get another and hopefully this will be addressed.
Tboy Mar 10, 2006, 11:28 AM No patch so far... hopefully when I get back from Germany in a week it'll be out.
BlizzardGR Mar 10, 2006, 12:06 PM I think they take their time this time to fix more issues and add a few new features too!
Tboy Mar 10, 2006, 03:16 PM For those who have problems, I have created a list of the race bonuses (the ones that are always there, not ones gained by using points, even if they are set there by default). All numbers mean %.

I know it may seem suprising, some of the imbalances, especially the massive bonus for the Drath, but I am sure I wrote them correctly. This imbalance really ought to be fixed in a patch, along with losing the bonuses (which I have discovered is for all races).
Tboy Apr 12, 2006, 05:31 AM BTW, this bug has now been fixed in the 1.1 b3 patch. Thanks Stardock! :)
W.i.n.t.e.r Apr 24, 2006, 07:56 PM Actualy there is a nother bug in the "Bonuses" part. Namely because the plural of "Bonus" is nt "Bonuses" but "Boni" (some may suggest even "Bonii" but then again I don't speak latin myself so that'd require a latin dictionary). I remember seeing this mistake even in the old Galciv I  perhaps that could also be patched after all these years ;)
Farae Apr 30, 2006, 10:31 PM If you wish to reset the bonuses, just click the "Clear" button on the bottom of Race Setup. It should be right by "Save"
smjjames Apr 30, 2006, 10:52 PM it doesn't seem to work properly in the demo (the clear function) because it just resets and gives back all points. but eh, its a demo and I'd like to get the full game on my birthday, which is in a little over a month on June 2nd :)
Farae May 04, 2006, 07:26 PM Odd. Clear normally resets the race to its original stats and party for me...

well it IS a demo, so the bug in the demo is probably fixed in a patch for the full game.
I like to play around with the stats anyway because you can only play the terrans in the demo.
