i got my civ4 off of ebay (bad idea) off some sketchy malaysian guy who sent me a malaysian release, a dvd edition (maybe the same is the EU edition?). it's in english and all, but i get two xml errors at the beginning while loading with something about italian and civilopedia, and i get funky text instead of the normal messages on some of the labels like, instead of "congratulations your resources is connected" i get [key] [resource] [connected], crap like that.

also, i don't have animals on my screen! their graphics don't show up; it's just their shadows. maybe this is b/c i have a crap graphic card that didn't even work w/ civ4 until i figured out some sketchy way to update/tweak it.

is there something i could do do u think? :confused: :confused: :confused:

Return it to the guy and buy one from a real store?

It isnt your card causing the shadow. Many people have the same problem. I think if you turn off animations they will show up, but not moving, but then disappear again once anything crosses over their path.
