i just realised that I made a mistake
Not a biggy, but perhaps in future ALL election polls (and I guess probably all polls) should have an abstain, which would be a good option to express disapproval for all the nominees.
So sorry about that, but it will be fixed next time :yup: ... I know this because I have had a discussion on this with the other candidate :)

I abstain as a result of the lack of Abstain. ;)

Question - What happens in the event that this election ties? We have no outgoing president to break the tie.
Should we leave it up to the newly elected president to decide?

If it is a tie ... I will step down :D
Would It be possible for you to clarify this?
I am not trying to be rude but you post has me somewhat confused
I feel that it can be taken 2 ways
1. You're a good sport and in the event of the tie, you would conceed and let gbno1fan take the spot, thus not having to put DaveMcW in a tough spot and possibly create tea mfriction early on.
2. You realize that you might not want to do the job as much as your orginally thought. :(
I for the sake of being optimistic am assuming you are somewhere around the first option in which case, :goodjob:
In any event I think the remaining voters need to know the reason :)

I am sure fe means he would be a good sport and step down. He and I ran on basically the same platform, and both intend to allow the other one to have a big say in what happens anyway.
We get along extremely well - I don't think there is any worry about team friction. :)

I like many sports :D ... Underwater Hockey being a favourite
Yes to clarify, I would have stepped down if it was a tie so save having a constitutional crisis or a 'Whitlam' (70's Australian PM was sacked by Governor General)
But looks like it may not come to that ;)

It is with pleasure that I become the first Provost for Epsilon.:D I thank my opponent, fe3333au, for putting up an excellent campaign.
At this time I would like to officially extend an invitation to fe to head my Department of Nomenclature. If he accepts, I'll buy the next round of .
