I was trying to get my first victory on Prince last night. I was doing great, I had the highest score, 3rd biggest army, I was leading the tech race. So then I noticed Hatshepsut started getting techs like crazy. One after the other, then after 8 or 7 turns I clicked on the foreign trade table and noticed she had 3 techs I didn't have plus she had all of mine. I worried cuz we where close to completing the space race. I hurried into fiber optics while ignoring all the other techs, I bult the internet and got all the techs she and Mansa Musa had(most annoying leader IMO). Anyway, we were balanced once again, only 2 techs away to complete the table. Then 4 or 5 turns later she gets them all. Wtf, how did she manage to get so many techs that fast? She was always way behind in techs throughout all the game and now this? Does the AI carry out "secret plans" to victory like humans do? Like using a lot saved great people to get all those techs? Cuz I'm puzzled on how she got them all. Anyway when I was 6 turns away to win the space race she beats me to it. I almost threw my laptop out the window.

1. Did she get a GOLDEN AGE?
2. Did she get a swarm of Great People?
3. Did she declare war and get a lot of cities?

If no to all of those the answer is probably this She adopted State Property or some other civic or other event that increased her income so she could shoot up research. Who knows she could have been a tech giant all the game and then she adopted State Property or something and she cruised.:cry: Sorry about losing though.

needed a new mouse.

I had the same problem as Washington.I tried to outtech the AIs,
but at the end they were not as far behind as in the beginning.
