Well I see war in our future..because we are weak right now. Our land is akward..we are spread out too far..I expect the next city to cost us researchwise.

As for the ruleset..its a easier to understand. And I cant wait to get money to spend. :)

Nope...I can look at our our power graph and see it coming. We are also number 6 overall in soldiers in the demographics table. I know this is not a direct conversion to military force(Robi D's work) but it is alarming. The AI hits weak civs..we are one. And our tactical situation is aided by the BW/MG peninsula, but that doesnt help defend Abydos and the future Alopha city. We are in a sad shape and need a strong unifying leader to mold us to a winning position. This isn't civ 3, every TC that goes by pushes us further from winning...especially if the other continent is ahead in tech.

As to the economy, I agree, the markets lead me to believe that pork bellies are falling against the cow. War, or rumors of war will have that effect. It does seem there is a lack of patronage though...any thoughts a to how we might get the word out?

I believe I made the first purchase (considering I just opened the bank), I don't think past debts hsould be collected, since BCLG said all the booze was on the house until the bank opened. Anyway it's BCLG's call though.

On another note, I think we should get Chieftess, once we get land management up, to post on the main page that the RPG is now functional. I think thatthe last time it was mentioned there, it was a scentence, as a sub division to the regular demogame. I don't think it caught anybody's eye.

Well we might make it so that if you buy a piece of land you could become embroiled in Land Conflict but thats just a pipe dream right now, so no nothing you do in one place affects what you do elsewhere.

These new rules (the business ones still be negotiated on) highly encourage the citizens to start their own business. I'm still debating wether to run for governor of c5 (w/e it's new name is) or run for SoW. I believe that the power of the SoW is dwarfed by the citizen's voting on everything he/she does. I guess it also depends how long the war lasts. Since I've never been SoW before, I don't think I'd be right to take over SoW in the middle of a war, not experienced enough. If it looks like it's going to end before Term 5, which I'm starting to doubt, I'll consider running.

When the nomination threads come out, I'll make my ultimate decision.

Not at all, im not immensly well liked in the demogame and dont take it too seriously which rubs quite a lot of people up the wrong way, plus have been nominated for science and as a DP so will have to do a bit of thinking.

Anyone have any ideas how to make my construction business get any business. There's no need for temples or houses or walls or such, and it's not a place to chat, so I can't say buy a house every 10 posts like you do here (even though your pretty lax about it.)

Is it possible like every building you put on a tile you own you get 2 extra gpt or something. And, again, I am open to rival business.

Isn't Abydos currently unhappy? How do you plan to deal with that and get some production out of the city? (main reason why I took auda city, it's small and unhappy, and I can properly grow it.)

Hey all, jsut registered here at the forums after Ice coersed me into joining. From what I understand (from Ice) this seems to be a pretty fun game, (and I have played in a democreacy game before (not hear though).) I guess I'll start my character off here, (which I assume is somewhere in our capital?) So throw me a Looterzale beer and chips.

I have a few questions though about the game, which right now I can't seem to find Ice to ask.

The game is based on the current demogame, right?
Do the skills I created my character with have any affect in rpg threads?
Do rpg threads have any affect on my character, or my balance?
Can land be sold to other people after you have purchased it?
Is defict spending allowed, and if so, how long do I have until I have to take a lone to repay my defecit?

Yes the rpg is based on the current CivIV DemoGame, loosely.
The skills are for BCLG's tournaments, I think. I'm too lazy to post a link, but it's one of the first few threads in this forum.
Yes land can be sold once you own it to anyone.
Private property can be sold to any other citizens for any amount both citizens agree to. Both parties must PM the Land Manager 24 hours before the TC for the transfer to become finalized, otherwise it might not be recognized until the following TC.
Even though I'm the banker, BCLG was here first and drafted the banking rules, so I can't anwser your last question about defecit spending.

BCLG, I was reffering to if someone is in minor debt for a turn, let's say they were -10 Gold. Will the bank allow them to make that up in a turn, or will the bank automatically take a loan for them?

BCLG you mind if I update the bank tonight as if we had a turnchat. I don't really see a turnchat coming about in the next week or so, considering half the positions aren't filled yet. I will update it like I normally do, distributing 50 gold to each person so on and so forth. This is basically to get things moving, and so people will know what they can spend and what they can't.

Sure ice, your the bank manager you can make that decision :) the bank and economic issues are completly in your hands, so long as you run major decisions by everyone first :)

I was looking over the Civ III Demogame II:RPG.

I couldn't find any in the 3rd demogame rpg, because nothing was stickied and everything was pruned.

My findings were:

There is a very strong centralized power controlling the game.
It is a lot more complex then our current game.
It probablly attracted a lot more people, because there were rules and an economy.
Everything there had a meaning.

My first question was: Are we ever going to do land conflict before nationalism is discovered?

My second question was: To achieve some of the titles in the game, did you have to be a certain title in the actual demogame itself?

Now, why aren't we using such a strong economy like that one? WHy have we diverted so much from that game's rules?

well the economy is partially based on that one, i looked at the rules from that extensivly before writing this.

yes we can do the land conquest thing but it does depend on having a few more people in the game.

and yes some titles were required by members in the demogame as was an ability to gain more money from them positions

I think it's good if there is an actual need to buy something to get some things done instead of the economy as it is now where you can buy things because you like it but you don't have to.
Like having to buy a chariot to ride and the need to have a good chariot for racing.

Problem is: you need to control which citizen controls which goods so people won't make up items from nowhere

Well dutchfire, I argued the point for a need based economy, but it was pretty much just thrown out. And for pertaining to the problem, you would have the government look over all prices and give rough estimates at what they should be.

Anyway, I think in a time of chaoss like this one we shoudl take the CoL as a guidline more than God's word. If the american revolutionist didn't go against the English law, there wouldn't be any America.

Right now, were at war, paticipation is low, government positions aren't being filled and the censor is gone. This calls for action, not some pencil-pusher throwing out un needed justice left and right.

This new thread will have the rules copy and pasted directly from each office (and character registry), so that there is no confusion among the rules. The rules have changed so much, that each thread now has a different set.

Unless you want to edit the thread yourself, and accumlate all the rules.

No, I don't mean that. For instance the character registry rules are different than the ones posted. The bank ruels are slightly different. I think the land management is verbatum from the orginal though.

Chipville shall recieve 10% of the entire profits from the rebel pub, right now that doesnt seem like a lot but will increase as participation of the demogame increases, the rebel pub only requests a link in the first post and if your willing in your signature. you can by all means set up another pub however as it would be you setting the buissness up you would be required to pay i think its 500 gold and with the established competition of the rebel pub II neither would make too much profit.

i am obviously affected because it is my pub so if someone else would like to make a ruling, possibly ice. In my mind it would be hard to have a contract with someone that didnt exist until a couple of days ago, also every other deal was considered done when everything changed so i figured this one is too.
