View Full Version : Hiawatha, Emperor of the Iroquois
azzaman333 Mar 24, 2006, 08:32 PM It is the year 4000BC. Your ancestors were nomads. But over the generations your people have learned the secrets of farming, road-building and irrigation, and they are ready to settle down. Hiawatha, your people are Commercial and Agricultural and have recently mastered Pottery and Alphabet. The people have vested absolute power in you, trustong that you can build a civilization to stand the test of time!

azzaman333 Mar 24, 2006, 09:22 PM The Iroquois were very happy for the next 399 years. Unfortunately in 3600BC, 2 Hoplites showed up uninvited outside Salamanca's borders.
http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/593/capture250320061337403gi.jpg
Hiawatha wasnt worried though, because he knew that the Greeks tend to be a very peaceful civilization. Hiawatha was slightly worried about the number of Greek troops he had seen though. In 3450BC, he saw a Greek warrior. The total known presence of Greek military was now 2 Hoplites and 1 warrior. Hiawathat wasnt too worried though, until he saw the 2 Hoplites waltz right iinto Salamanca's borders!
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/7134/capture250320061343279mw.jpg
Fortunately, they left Salamanca the very next turn. Hiawatha decided he would trade with the Greeks to get them happy. Unfortunately, Alexander didnt particularly like Hiawatha's proposal.
http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/1635/capture250320061347162ct.jpg
In 3050 BC, the Greeks were taught Pottery from a friendly barbarian tribe, but the Iroquois had gained some knowledge of Greek lands.
http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/2550/capture250320061350228hk.jpg
3000BC showed the conscript explorer a Greek settler moving North towards Salamanca. In 2950 BC the first settler was built in Salamanca. The city then started to build some warriors for defense.
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4126/capture250320061355120sr.jpg
The settler was then sent off towards the wheat NW of Salamanca. Hiawatha was slightly worried of the placement of Sparta to the south, but then a though occured to him. What if Greece can only expand North? They wont be able to get past Salamanca! They dont have a chance! To the south, the conscript warrior was patrolling the borders of Athens. He saw his chance to spy directly on Athens. He would stand on that hill to the east. It was a brilliant plan, and if he retreated quick enough, he wouldnt have to fight any hoplites. Interesting, he thought to himself...
http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/6586/capture250320061406276lh.jpg
50 years later, Niagra Falls was founded, which immideately started work on training a warrior.
http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/5470/capture250320061409029iv.jpg
The Wheel was learnt 50 years later, and the scientists proposed to work on a way of using their alphabet, called Writing. Hiawatha became very scared when he saw 2 German spearman fortified fairly near salamanca. And they werent moving. Must be a chokepoint thought Hiawatha. In 2550 BC, the volcano eruputed, and the new settlers considered themselves lucky not be have left Salamanca earlier. They moved towards the suspected chokpoint, to try and get rid of those spearmen. A nearby warrior escorted them to their destination, to protect them from the Germans should the try anything. Then Niagra Falls finished training a warrior, who was used as a garrison in the city. Then the people started to train a worker. Meanwhile, the Germans kept acting suspicious... :satan:
In 2470 BC, Grand River was founded.

Will this new town annoy the Germans?
Will i be able to keep Greece contained?
Do i have enough land?

azzaman333 Mar 24, 2006, 09:31 PM Goodjob. Nt a bad starting position either!
Position = Good
Neighbours = Bad
It will be hard to get a good balance since i have the very aggressive Germany to the ENE, and the very defensive Sci Powerhouse Greece to the South. And im already down 3 techs...
stocktracker Mar 24, 2006, 09:45 PM It will be very hard to kill those hoplites, and since the Germans have access to spearmen and archers from the beginning, it looks like you have a challenge on your hands.
Lord_Iggy Mar 24, 2006, 11:28 PM Good luck azzaman!
AutomatedTeller Mar 25, 2006, 12:39 AM Is this emperor?
a bigger issue than the neighbors is what looks to be a lack of horses. Iroquois without horses is like Persia without iron... what's the fun of that???

Its not as if i'm going to be able to do much with mountie, since Germany will be building a huge AA army and the Greeks will have tons of Hoplites.
conquer_dude Mar 25, 2006, 08:39 AM Well, you could counter attack them while they are building up.
And you could get horses from a neighboring civ if needed.
Mirc Mar 25, 2006, 11:54 AM Nice story! So on what level is it?
azzaman333 Mar 25, 2006, 06:39 PM Nice story! So on what level is it?
Its on Emperor. Thats why its called Hiawatha, Emperor of the Iroquois;)
azzaman333 Mar 27, 2006, 12:00 AM Last time, we ended with Hiawatha building a city very close to a German Spearman. Hiawatha's wife noted that the spearman was very ugly. Hiawatha was very worried about the German reaction, but his fears werent nessecary as the Germans ran away when Grand River was built. Niagra Falls trained a worker a short time later, and he immediatly moved to the wheat and mined it. He stayed away from the forest, since it was suspected that there was some uranium.
http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/8259/capture270320061632426tw.jpg
It was around that time that a settler was built. He really liked shiny things, so whe i told him to go north to the hill NW of the cows, he ignored me and went straight to the hill 1 N of the gems. I took advantage of this and sent him south to get some wheat and the gems, which made him happy. Meanwhile, a warrior found a southern tip of the continent and named the hill "Southern Hill". He wasnt the most creative warrior. Meanwhile, Greece and Germany were increasing their tech lead. Fortunately, i am pretty powerful.
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/2417/capture270320061638513ai.jpg
The volcano didnt like Greece's new town, Thermopylae, since when it was built, the volcano started smoking. Fortunately, my shiny thing obsessed friend wont be hurt. Salamanca was being struck with disease at this time, causing many people to be killed. At least Allegheny hadnt been affected.
http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/8301/capture270320061643235yb.jpg
I also knew that i needed a war to get Germany out of the choke point, since i had a very small area to build.
http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/1056/capture270320061646038er.jpg
It was also very fortunate that my shiny settler was off the gems, since the volcano spewed lava all over the gems. I also needed new settling plans. there wasnt enough room to stick a city 1N of the cow as i had originally planned. I had to stick a city 1 SE of the cow instead.
http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/1056/capture270320061646038er.jpg
By then, i had 2 cities building curraghs. And to regain the pop level in Salamanca, i was building warriors to guard my part of the choke. In 1910 BC, i got my first curragh., and by 1870BC, the Iroquois had tripled the importance of settlers. Then Hiawatha learnt how to write...
http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/3855/capture270320061659190rp.jpg
Do Greece or Germany want my writing?
Will Germany continue to block the choke point?
Will I get Philosophy first?
Is there another civilization just beyond the horizon?
Find out next time! :king:

Looks like a war with Germany will be necessary soon. Just to get that spearman out of the choke.

azzaman333 Mar 30, 2006, 03:18 AM Hiawatha decided he would talk to Greece to sell Writing. Alexander highly walued Writing and sold Hiawatha 3 technologies for it. After that, Hiawatha spoke to the disliked German leader, Bismark. he only sold 1 technology for Writing. But he was foolish enough to make it Warrior Code, granting Iroquois qith the knowledge of bows and arrows. This would most likely lead to a war. Hiawatha was pleased though, he had earnt himself all of the first teir techs
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/2032/capture300320062318128qy.jpg
The cities that had been built on the beach had been mking floaty things, which were named curraghs. Hiawatha never understood why they were called curraghs though, since he thought floatie thing sounded much cooler. Hiawatha was using this time to build up a small army to remove Germany from the choke point, which currently consisted of 3 regular warriors. Hiawatha was pleased they were regular, since he didnt want constipated warriors on the battlefield. Unfortunately, the Cultural Advisor was still in palace. She kept saying "Build the Pyramids! We'd be the envy of the world!" So she was given an axe and stuck on the frontline promtly. Even more unfortunately, the next culture advisor was more annoying, so Hiawatha gave up.

It didnt take very long after that for a third floaty thing to start exploring, and at approx the sam etime, Oil Springs was built. Niagra Falls joined in the settler building party the next turn, and after only one more turn, the great city of Tonawanda was built. It was December in 1625BC when Hiawatha met a red coloured border. It turned out that the red border belonged to Hammurabi, the leader of Bablyon. He refused to trade the alphabet to Hiawatha so he gave him the finger and went on his way. But after only 25 years, Babylon had learnt Alphabet, and was willing to trade the secrets of Iron Working for Writing. Hiawatha apologised for his earlier actions, and a trade was made. Hiawatha was very disappointed when he found out he had no Iron, but he knew that all he needed for now was archers. It took very little time to find the Hittites, who were north of Bablyon. They were technologically inferior to the Iroquois, so their messenger was given a lethal dose of wheat to show the Hittites what cold-blooded monsters the Iroquois were. By then the Iroquois had figured out Philosophy, and since they were such great philosophers, they also learnt Literature. Finally we can read books to our children thought Hiawatha as they told him of the great news. He was told by his military advisor in the same meeting that the army was ready to attack the spearman. Excellent. It was WAR! 2 men died attacking that spearman, but the warrior who succeeded was promoted to veteran! This allowed the powerful Iroquois to control the chokepoint, provided that they could hold it for the duration of the war. St Regis had just been founded too. Centralia was founded in dangerous territory, but this wsa of no concern to our friend Hiawatha. He trusted in his warriors abilities.
http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/8538/capture310320060003157gh.jpg
He was then shown some strategic maps by his chief mapper.

Will the German Army raze my newly founded city?
Will i ever get a strategic rsource?

stocktracker Mar 30, 2006, 07:24 AM I will say the orange civilization is the Ottomans, and for the other 3 questions, no, yes, and yes.
conquer_dude Mar 30, 2006, 08:20 AM I think the Ottomans also, Germans probably won't, yes you will get a recourse, and yes, someone will kill you if you post more advisor pics.

azzaman333 Mar 30, 2006, 07:05 PM You'll probably need to research iron mithing ASAP to get a decent S.R.
Babylon traded Iron Working for Writing, and i see no sources of Iron, and the only Horse is under Athens.
azzaman333 Mar 31, 2006, 08:16 PM Hmm, a German warrior has wandered to out side Centralia. He's only conscript, so he's no threat. Hiawatha was also told that one of his curraghs met a new civilization, known as Persia.
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4200/capture010420061228459om.jpg
He had nothing that Hiawatha want at this time, so he was dismissed. Hiawatha was confused, since he'd heard stories that Persia was normally Green or a darkish Aqua, and here they were in their shiny orange uniforms! Of course, Hiawatha had more pressing matters, namely the Germans. It seemed to Hiawatha's advisors that the Germans had an infinite suplly of warriors! "We've seen 3 warriors in 3 turns!" they said, but Hiawatha was very calm. He was much more worried of the new threat lurking behind Germany. Not only was Persia more advanced than Germany, they also had much more frightening warriors, known as Immortals. These Immortals were fairly slow moving, but are cheap and have an attack of 4! Hiawatha's strongest warriors had attacks of 2. But then, Germany attacked! It was a regular archer and a regular warrior against Hiawatha's conscript warrior. And the conscript won! He was promptley promoted to a Regular, and ordered to fortify and heal. And another town was built.
http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/8365/capture010420061241162ou.jpg
Hiawatha was pleased, since the Germans looked foolish. They not only hadnt had a single victory, but they had given up ground to the Glorious Iroquios. After another loss, Germany was wiling to talk peace. But hiawatha wasnt. He wanted to punish Germany for their mistakes. And the punishment was taking Munich.
http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/6425/capture010420061244292rf.jpg
As far as Hiawatha knew, there was only 1 Spearman defending Munich. He was also wondering were the last 2 civilizations were. While he thought about iit, the bloody volcano erupted again! That's the 3rd time thought Hiawatha, as he threw a rock at Culture Advisor. He then yelled at his culture advisor, since she was meant to be do all that crazy religous stuff to stop things like that happening. So Hiawatha attacked Munich immediately, and in his rage sent 2 warriors and an archer to their deaths. ****, thought Hiawatha. Better sign peace. Peace was signed between the nations, costing Germany 50 gold. With this new surplus, he ordered an embassy built in the Hittite capital.
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/8238/capture010420061258499lu.jpg
They dont look too menacing. And Code of Laws was learnt. :woohoo: So the scientist went straight to work on the secrets of Republic. Then, with a couple of sweet trades with Babylon and Persia, I only needed 3 more techs to get out of this crappy age.
http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/9540/capture010420061303257ry.jpg
And i had enough money for an embassy with the Germans.
http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8733/capture010420061303151xi.jpg
So it was a race to the silks. They were sitting right up the top of the continent, one of them in Babylonian territory. The Iroquois built their settler, and sent him straight to the chokepoint. When i realised, those German b@$^4rds had ivory! THis made Hiawatha so furious, he ordered an attacked immediately! His military advisor warned him that an attack now would permanently stuff up his economy, so Hiawatha cancelled the order for now. And in 1000 BC, the future Iroquois homelands looked like this.
http://img415.imageshack.us/img415/2117/capture010420061318292kv.jpg
Will i get a city next to ivory?
Will i maintain my technological superiority?
Will i meet a stack of Persian Immortals?
Will i meet the civs that are hiding from me?

And even though it siad that he was building the Great Library, he was actually stockpiling resources for the Statue of Zeus, since those who praise Zeus get Ancient Cavalry.

azzaman333 Apr 03, 2006, 04:01 AM The was wasnt going very well against Germany, but i wasnt losing ground. Or so i thought. Only a short time after building the Statue of Zeus, the German swords took the poor city of Kahnawake, which disconnected my ivory. And the Persians didnt seem to be doing anything to Germany either. And WW was really starting to set in. But i couldnt sign peace due to the alliance with Persia. Then i had some luck with a volcano. Kahnawake was destroyed!
http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/1194/capture030420061659475oa.jpg
But the German Army was equipped with swords, while i was stuck with bows and arrows. And it was wave after wave of swords to kill off my archers. And for the most part, Germany had been successful. And then there wer maces. I was doomed if the alliance didnt end soon. And persia was still being useless. But somehow, i still had Hamburg. Many skirmishes occured near Centralia and Nuremberg, while i built up my "all or nothing" stack of 5 or 6 archers and a spearman. They were going to throw everything they had at Munich, to try and end on a postive note. With 4 turns of war required, the troops were 2 turns away from Munich. Hiawatha's labourers were sick of the war, almost causing a riot in all of his cities. The Iroquois were in so much debt, that they could barely afford research. Only 20% of the gold generated was put into science.
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/4030/capture030420061717486tc.jpg
And finally some success!

phoenix_sprite Apr 04, 2006, 07:48 PM your story is ok thus far
azzaman333 Apr 06, 2006, 05:38 AM It was 230AD, and the dreaded message appeared. Your galley has sunk blah balh blah. Hiawatha never liked it when he got this message. He much prefered it when he saw "we have destroyed the evil Germans" But he knew that wasnt going to happen for a while, due to Hiawatha's army sucking. He was hoping to get some longbowman soon, to make an aggressive action against a neighbouring civ. But on one side, there was Germany, who had iron, a large army and a bad temper and on the other, there was greece who had no iron, but did have hoplites and the Great Wall. And in 280 AD, Hiawatha met a new people. It was The Greatest Civ Ever And You Know It, or as known by their friends, America. I was not their friend. They were technologiaclly inferior, but had almost 20% of the land. The Iroquois only had 9%! The also had 4 luxuries!
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/6679/capture060420061958449wz.jpg
Worst of all, i was still 2 techs down on Babylon, Germany, Persia and Greece. No Montheism or Chivalry for me. Fortunately, it didnt take long for America to learn Mono, and i was only 1 tech down. Also, my stack to use on Sparta was progressing nicely. I just needed some money to upgrade my archer.
"hello! You must be mayan in your yellow uniform! I see you dont know currency, so i'll just rip you off."
i could shortly later trade Gunpowder with the Germans to keep my tech parity. And i knew i had saltpeter! Musket Time! And through some clever trading, and America learning Education first, i got back to being the tech leader. All I needed now was Salamanca to build Leo's, to get cheap upgrades for my archers. And world politics was getting interesting, the America's declaration of war on the Maya.

And i did!

DAv2003 Apr 06, 2006, 04:05 PM Interesting update, good luck against the Greeks!
azzaman333 Apr 09, 2006, 07:34 AM The Greeks are going to die from the arrows shot from Iroquois longbows. But first, I must inspect the Incan capital.
http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/531/capture090420062232157me.jpg
Much better defended than i expected. And my stack is finally ready.
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/6536/capture090420062236095go.jpg
Time to declare.
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/2124/capture090420062238140lx.jpg
In the first turn of war, Sparta and 3 Greek Workers were captured. And that was only the Ancient Cavs. The 17 longbows had no fun at all. Next turn, they are outside Knossos, protected by 2 Muskets.
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/8504/capture090420062246106vo.jpg
Knossos couldnt resist the Longbows, and it was taken. The stack then changed direction, and moved towards the Greek capital, Athens.
http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/56/capture090420062250221sv.jpg
By the next turn, 11 attack units were outside the Walls of Athens. The Great Wall was protecting the precious horses, sought by the Iroquois nation. Their 6 Hoplites, Longbowman and Trebuchet were no match for my army.
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/5900/capture090420062257223oo.jpg
Swiftly followed by Delphi, but bringing some WW with it. Plan was to take Argos and make peace ASAP. First seige of Argos failed, but the casualties were quickly replaced and Argos was captured.
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/2550/capture090420062313535ui.jpg
After that, Greece really wanted peace.

How will i use my newly obtained lands?
Will i attack another civ?
Does this question have a purpose?
Find out next time! :king:
DAv2003 Apr 09, 2006, 10:03 AM Good moves on the Greek! Now you've got horses, things will get a lot more interesting.
conquer_dude Apr 09, 2006, 12:02 PM Yes
Hope So
Not really
azzaman333 Apr 09, 2006, 12:05 PM How will i use my newly obtained lands?
Yes
Not sure i understand what you're saying... :crazyeye:
conquer_dude Apr 09, 2006, 12:07 PM Not sure i understand what you're saying... :crazyeye:
I didn't see the "How" in the beggining. I thought it was just "Will I use my newly obtained lands?"
The 777 Hoax Apr 09, 2006, 02:24 PM 1.) You will use them to... um... build units?
2.) I hope so
3.) Yes, but we don't know what it is...
Ansar Apr 09, 2006, 08:33 PM Good job on defeating the greeks!
where is Herakleia located? :)
azzaman333 Apr 11, 2006, 01:42 AM Germans dont have Iron anymore, so my Longbows near my Greek friend are going to Fireland Mountains, where the pain in the @$$ volcano is.
http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/8467/capture110420061547343wd.jpg
And as i rebuilt my longbows, i saw Babylon moving some units in my territory.
http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/7805/capture110420061604032qr.jpg
I demanded they leave, and the inevitable happens...
http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/6962/capture110420061605348ii.jpg
They leave! I thought i had war for sure! I checked the foreign advisory, who pointed out that Babylon was at war with germany. Must've happened while i was too busy with Greece to notice. And 1 turn before the attack on Germany...
http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/281/capture110420061610131ya.jpg
Greece is going to pay dearly. After the Germans are dead though, since im busy atm.
With my capture of Nuremburg, the Greeks are down to 1 city, Berlin.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7879/capture110420061616547gd.jpg
And now you see my new core.
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4104/capture110420061622194rq.jpg
I wish i could attack sooner than 12 turns...
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1349/capture110420061626198it.jpg
I guess it just means a larger attack when it does happen. And my power is growing quite nicely too.

American Navigation tells us that the Maya are winning.
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2669/capture110420061638186at.jpg
And Greece keeps trying to move 2 longbows back to the homeland through my territory. I keep telling Furios Alex to leave, and he keeps doing it! I want him dead!
5 turns left on the treaty my stack looks like this.
http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/5195/capture110420061646212xi.jpg
How long will the Greeks and Germans live for?
Find out next time! :king:
stocktracker Apr 11, 2006, 07:35 AM With 22 good units after them, the Greeks don't have very long to live, and since the Germans only have one more city left, that won't take much either.
DAv2003 Apr 11, 2006, 09:47 AM It's a shame you're unable to intefere on the other continent as much. If the Maya continue as they're doing, they will become the game's super power.
conquer_dude Apr 11, 2006, 05:50 PM It's a shame you're unable to intefere on the other continent as much. If the Maya continue as they're doing, they will become the game's super power.
Not really. The Americans can always strike back. I think those two civs are just going to keep capturing border cities, and recapturing, and so on.
Ansar Apr 12, 2006, 05:56 AM Incan capital.
With my capture of Nuremburg, the Greeks are down to 1 city, Berlin.
:mischief: :crazyeye:
azzaman333 Apr 12, 2006, 06:03 AM No! Dont let them know that i make mistakes like that.;)
conquer_dude Apr 12, 2006, 01:45 PM I didn't mention you made it, but I saw it.
azzaman333 Apr 13, 2006, 08:45 AM In the next 50 years, i keep yelling at Alex for entering my territory. And Argos flipped. It led to this.
http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/3523/capture130420062256276it.jpg
Soon the stack is outside athens, and due to the last humiliating flip, i raze the heathen city to the ground!
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/8500/capture130420062303344ww.jpg
Then my poor MM strikes in the form of WW.
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/7012/capture130420062312149uc.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Fortunately, the Iroquois-Greece War is short, and results in Greece OCCing.
http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/2316/capture130420062318395lt.jpg
nd since now i have cavs, its time to finish the Germans. But before i get to them, the babylonians kill them.
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2274/capture130420062332097bd.jpg
I have taken the title of tech leader too. i have also decided my next target, and the allies i will have. And i enter the Industrial Era.
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3901/capture130420062344474fn.jpg
And the song im listening to right now seems appropriate for Greece. "We Used to be Friends" Not anymore Alex, your OCCing now :D
What will i research in the new age?
Will i be attacking Babylon or Persia?
Who will i have as allies?
Do rabbits live in my cities?
Find out next time! :king:
(well, you might not find out if rabbits live in my cities)
conquer_dude Apr 13, 2006, 10:00 AM Whatever you wish!
Yes!
Noone
Yes, Easter rabbits that send doom to every enemy.
AutomatedTeller Apr 13, 2006, 11:22 AM I have to say, I have *never* seen a cultural border like that before, where there is a square in the water on the *other* side of yours that is greeks and not connected to any city.
Wierd...
Ansar Apr 13, 2006, 12:19 PM Athens has so much culture, it surpasses the cultural borders of the 2 cities. Athens probably had 1,000+ culture.
DAv2003 Apr 13, 2006, 01:46 PM I'd reccomend taking several of the Persian cities that border alongside Babylon. Then you could push north and hit Babylon hard thereby while not completely conquering them, any real threat in the nearby future woul be neutrilised.
Marsden Apr 13, 2006, 04:50 PM Rabbits, you say? Aren't they the most dangerous animals in Britain?
azzaman333 Apr 13, 2006, 11:08 PM The Iroquois had just got their first source of horses, and they thought, "What if we stick our musketmen on horses?" This thought led to this army being produced.
http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2223/capture140420061243478hx.jpg
And the time was right for Persia's demise. The plan is to take Heidelburg with my AC's (blue), Konigsburg with my Cavs (green) and Cologne with my Longbows (red).
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/9471/capture140420061250478tw.jpg
http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/9431/capture140420061257140ds.jpg
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/7368/capture140420061259138uk.jpg
And in the first turn of war, my plan appeared to be working.
http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/3746/capture140420061304022rh.jpg
And the second turn, it looked even better.
http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/3323/capture140420061309145ec.jpg
And turn 3 give me a reality check. Emperor Civs have much better armies than monarch civs. :( Not going to be as easy as i thought. All i need is Babylon out of the war, and i'll sign peace. But provided they keep the agreement, they'll be in for the next 18 turns. But Babylon is actually proving to be useful at picking off the Persian troops, and I've taken Frankfurt. And its only been 5/6 turns of war! And my plan has worked amazingly well for once! With 12 turns left in the alliance, i have taken 9 towns.
http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/3223/capture140420061343435uk.jpg
And Greece joins in the fun at their own free will. Out of 4 scientific civ to start, 1 is dead, 1 is OCC and 1 is being pounded to a bloody pulp. I've taken all towns i expected to take, a bonus town, and the war still has 10 turns left!
Persepolis is then taken, and the capture of Arbela sends Persia into the same state as Greece. OCC.
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/7103/capture140420061402543zm.jpg
All i need for peace is a cancellation of the deal i have with Babylon.
I am now the leader in land area and power.
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/249/capture140420061407098vd.jpg
Will i continue my warring ways or will i be peaceful?
Will I build any wonders in the near future?
Does America have a chance if the Maya attack again?
Find out next time? :hmm:
DAv2003 Apr 14, 2006, 04:04 AM Perhaps it would be best to have a few turns of peace and building a few improvements before attacking Babylon.
azzaman333 Apr 14, 2006, 04:09 AM BTW, if you have an idea for my next story, PM it to me or post it in this thread.
stocktracker Apr 14, 2006, 08:18 AM You should easily be able to eliminate the Babylonians, and quickly surpass the Mayans in score.

Ha! Look at the Persians! With that as their only city, they have no hope in hell. A look at what im building in my core should give you my short term plan.
http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/9708/capture170420061417388hk.jpg
So im in a boring phase of my plan. But looking at the demographics, i am in quite a strong position.
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/4153/capture170420061421147zc.jpg
And Babylon, the only worthwile Scientific Civ has just entered the IA, and has learnt Steam Power. But he has no coal.

Yet....
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/6797/capture170420061425573se.jpg
I am curious of the strength of Greece, and its terrible. I'm tempted to attack, but instead, i'm just going to leave them. I can possibly use them for a Diplo victory later.
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/9507/capture170420061428229ku.jpg
The Maya are threatening me too...
http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/7438/capture170420061433042gk.jpg
But they are stupid people (fortunately they arent in a large group ;)) and are too far away from me to do anything. They just dont like my galleys floating around in their territory.
Its time for peace with Persia, and i milk it for all it's worth.
http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2456/capture170420061439326dz.jpg
And the Hittites have joined the fight against Persia. And when i learn the important technology of Replaceable Parts, i once again am shown just how resourceless my original core is. 1 source of gems is still the only resource with the radius of my first 9 cities. But i still have 3 sources of rubber
http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1090/capture170420061442105bq.jpg
And a nice deal with America, followed by an attempt to sell to the Hittites, who are hate me for some unknown reason.
http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/8028/capture170420061453356dc.jpg
Lately, no one has dominated the wonders either.

conquer_dude Apr 17, 2006, 07:48 AM Very good! To me, I think you should go after Babylin pretty soon, once that magnificent army in your core has built up to a good size.
azzaman333 Apr 17, 2006, 08:03 AM Very good! To me, I think you should go after Babylin pretty soon, once that magnificent army in your core has built up to a good size.
Not before tanks, unless i can produce a lot of artillery. I've never really been a fan of IA warfare. I prefer expanding as much as possible in the AA, attacking and gaining territory in the MA, using the IA to either mop up remaining AI or build a strong ecomomy for MA. MA to either beeline for Modern Armour and conquer 1-2 remaining civs or quickly get Rockets and Fission to see if i have the resources nessecary for a spaceship.
conquer_dude Apr 17, 2006, 07:06 PM Nukes too, eh? :D
azzaman333 Apr 21, 2006, 06:41 AM The industrialisation of the Iroquois had started. Most of the empire was being connected with Railroads, and the core towns were getting a nice bonus from these new rails.

Ansar Apr 30, 2006, 08:11 AM :dubious: Wow, I had never seen the volcano do that, I mean, I know volcanoes could do that...but...wow!:D
stocktracker Apr 30, 2006, 08:42 AM I think you want the Mayans to get weaker, you don't want them taking over that entire continent. But it would lead to an interesting space race or conquest.
azzaman333 Apr 30, 2006, 08:55 AM I think you want the Mayans to get weaker, you don't want them taking over that entire continent. But it would lead to an interesting space race or conquest.
I would be worried about the Mayans, but they are behind in tech. America is the 2nd in tech behind me.
conquer_dude Apr 30, 2006, 09:22 AM Holy crap this WW1 is gonna be insane! :D
DAv2003 May 02, 2006, 07:48 AM So what effect will the Hittites have? Do they pose a threat to Babylon?
azzaman333 May 05, 2006, 02:11 AM The beauty of the MPP is shown.

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9567/capture050520061540033fo.jpg
And the advantages of being rich!
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4756/capture050520061608209ea.jpg
And in 2 turns (with a lot of artillery bombardment), a Babylonian Army consisting of at least 10 infantry, 8 Crusaders, 5 Musketmen, 3 Longbows and a Medieval Infantry. That's at least 27 units, all of which were on Hills or Mountains. And did someone say MGL?
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/3028/capture050520061636389oj.jpg
With my new navy, the Babylonian Frigates are being humiliated.
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/6477/capture050520061647278rk.jpg
And besieging Berlin has shown to be a good plan.
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9656/capture050520061659398zu.jpg
But i lost at least 4 elite cavalry that turn.
I'll close with the discovery of flight.

What level of damage will my new technology cause?'
Find out next time! :king:
DAv2003 May 05, 2006, 05:17 AM I doubt it would do much damage, by the time you build your first plane, I think you'd have half of Babylon in your grasp.
azzaman333 May 05, 2006, 06:20 AM I doubt it would do much damage, by the time you build your first plane, I think you'd have half of Babylon in your grasp.
Well, the 2 destroyers i have have already killed 3 frigate and bombarded some bananas, in 1 turn. So any extra tech advancement will be of great use, if thats anything to go by.
azzaman333 May 09, 2006, 07:11 AM Hiawatha's records for the last 2 turns were lost, but he knew that he had taken Eridu before his CS:S war against RFW. (Which his team lost) But back to the current affairs. On the mountains outside Eridu, all Iroquois Artillery was waiting for the next move.
The bombardment of Babylonian Coast has started.
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4065/capture090520062139101uu.jpg
And, 106 units are ready to go towards Uruk.

Boooom! Blowing up railroads is fun.
http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/6443/capture090520062145244ix.jpg
And now i have new toys to build!
http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/9233/capture090520062150099lv.jpg
Uruk was a Babylonian city? Thats odd, it looks like an Iroquois city to me.

What wars and technologies will come in the Modern Era?
Find out next time! :king:
stocktracker May 14, 2006, 07:40 AM I think you will get into a war with the Hittites, but the Mayans and the Americans will be your rivals for the space race. I don't think you could weaken them fast enough to get a conquest, unless you take their capital.
conquer_dude May 14, 2006, 09:28 AM I'm..... sooooo honored to have a unit named after me. *takes hat off*
:woohoo: Modern Age! Yeah! :woohoo:
azzaman333 May 16, 2006, 07:48 AM 20 years later, the once mighty Babylonians were no more. This left 4 civilizations out of the original 8. Its interesting to note that out of the 4 dead civilizations killed, all of which i warred with, i only destroyed 1 of them which was Greece. Babylon killed Germany, and Hittites killed Babylon and Persia. Look at my military strength!
http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/6826/capture160520062216023wz.jpg
And look at what the Hittites did....
http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/3609/capture160520062216158zt.jpg
How dumb could you get?
In my first turn of war with the Hittites, i took 3 cities, and my army is close to Tarsus already.
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/3686/capture160520062225443kc.jpg
At least they tried a counter-attack.
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/4177/capture160520062227512tc.jpg
But bombers and artillery kill them off very easily. And Conquer_Dude's army is having fun pilliaging the Hittite plains.
http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/8882/capture160520062238306yi.jpg
And i finally have a higher score than the Mayans.

Will the Hittites be a worthy foe?

azzaman333 May 25, 2006, 10:11 PM The bloody Hittite War was continuing. Conquer_dude's Army had just taken Tarsus and Magellans Voyage while the bombing of the Hittite countryside continued.
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/985/capture260520061044526lk.jpg
And the small town of Aleppo seems to be in deep trouble.
http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/7933/capture260520061126030wh.jpg
One turn later...
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/6756/capture260520061147318tj.jpg
Shortly after that, azzaman333's army takes the city of Adana.
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/267/capture260520061200591ev.jpg
And the heavily bombed Hattusas has been captured.
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/8063/capture260520061216580vl.jpg
The Hittites want peace too, but having a look at their army tells me they arent in any position to demand anything.
http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/3941/capture260520061252187kt.jpg
And i am very powerful.
