As some of you may know, this is a time of starts for Knickers. As some of you may have noticed, Knickers likes to talk about himself in the third person.
Enough of the intro, let's get down to business:

AI civs: 7, all random (let's hope for no Russians, they smell)

I'm liking the dyes.
So, I settle where I am and switch the science up to 100% and start research on the wheel.
After settling I find that there is a barb hut just a little south from me and start producing a warrior to go get it.

So, they rinse me and I've lost all my gold and the ol' warrior loses some weight.
I then sent him home to the mothership to eat some food and I put him up in a 4 star hotel to get a good nights sleep - you can't trust anything below that.
Persepolis builds another warrior and he is sent out for scouting duties: hopefully I can get lots of contacts with other civs to replace my money...
Yet another warrior gets built and he also gets sent on his way over the hills and far away - I desperately need a substitute for that money I lost. I also hooked up a second lux, but just some more dyes unfortunately.

And after Presepolis has completed work on a spearman, I'm going to produce a settler baby, yeah.
Turns out that there are more dyes to the east and my worker mined a place in Presepolis and has switched to a settler:

I sent the settler up north and after gaining the tech 'the wheel' some horses appear near those furs. This gave me a tough decision, as there were some horses right next to presepolis. I decided against settling right next to the capital though and went for the furs - I badly need the luxuries (in future).

I came accross another barb hut a while back and they taught me pottery, but I just can't believe my luck at the moment:

And after his valiant attempt at a pre-thought out defense technique, I felt he utilised and exploited it so well that I gave him not one, but two promotions. (He became Elite) After handing him his rightly earned shiny new badge, I sent him on his way to explore further:

It's a pretty good starting position. Dyes, river, a hill, some gold, and acess to coast (or a lake)

The elite warrior, or as I like to call him ewarrior, then discovered, some barbs tried attacking presepolis and after fighting one of them off, the second went just as easily. I learnt how to teach warriors a code and presepolis produced a barracks.

It turns out the border belongs to the Americans, and things aren't looking so good at the moment:

I found that Germany was a lot closer than I had anticipated and then I met the English and struck this deal:

My Warrior from the previous screenshot got utterly rinsed to my surprise and then this happened:

My warrior went on to rinse every surrounding barb and took 25 gold from that little colony thingy and got promoted to elite status, but I almost screamed when I saw this:

Things are not looking good at the moment, I need to pump out a few more settlers and secure some iron towards the north. I was too slow and the Germans have secured the dyes to the east as I mentioned before - this will be a main target for my offensive. There is iron to the north of me, but that city would be quite isolated. The germans have some iron in one of their cities quite far south - I don't know how long (or if) it would take me to reach it.

Maybe next time you could just have the warrior fortify in the town and let your culture pop that hut after ten turns. Just a suggestion. Nice meetin' ya!

You are doing great but you are expanding a little slow...

Yeah, I know, I set up almost all of my towns to build settlers, then I wasn't watching them and they were going to be done in size 1 towns on the turn that they grow. And if you land them right on the turn they grow, don't they only use 1 citizen?

In my first game I lost big time, to the French, I think. But I think it was because I didn't know ow to build a city and I didn't know what A/D/M values were.:confused: :confused: :confused: But it wasn't realy too bad :crazyeye: (I hope) but now those little chieftans don't even have a fair chance at winning.:mischief:

I'm sorry but I dont think Knickers needs these posts, this is not general discussions on your first game.

What knickers needs is an update. ;)

Well, things are looking bad for this game, and it's on Regent (I now play on monarch) so, I don't think I'll be continuing this story. But look out for my next one which I WILL play...
