View Full Version : Small Wonder NOT IN BUILD QUEUE!
FinnMcCool Apr 04, 2006, 10:26 AM OK. Numerous additions in this mod, new techs, resources, etc. I've run into a problem where I should see a small wonder in the build queue, but it doesn't show up, I hope there's a reason for it, and not just an installation problem or something. Conquests, patch 1.22 installed.
New techs Occultism then Secret Societies. Also no-era tech The Reich given to Germany.
A Great Wonder called The Masonic Order is made obsolete by The Reich, thus not available to Germany, it requires Secret Societies tech. It puts a Skull-and-Bones Society in all cities. Also, a SMALL Wonder called Ordo Templi Orientis which requires 13 S-a-B's. Incidentally, the Monumental Obelisk is a Small Wonder which requires 4 S-a-B's. Masonic Order requires the presence of the Monumental Obelisk.
So. I built 4 S-a-B's manually, built the Obelisk, then built the Masonic Order. OK. All my cities have a Bonesman. The OTO should show up in a build queue but IT DOESN'T!
Is there an upper limit to the number of buildings required for a SW? Is 13 too high? Is there a problem using "Wonder-created" buildings for the SW prerequisite? For some reason do they not count? Do I have to build 13 S-a-B's manually?
Help please! I've put a huge amount of work into this, it's frustrating. But I guess you'd all know that...
William GBTW Apr 04, 2006, 11:29 AM Cool idea about the Reich. Its funny with the Skull and Bones; added the Trilateral Commission and Builderburgs. No there isn't any number thing. Maybet you:
Didn't do the palletes right;
Didn't use the right folder.
Please tell me if all the ones are black or not?

Weasel Op Apr 04, 2006, 12:11 PM Palettes and folders wouldn't have anything to do with this. It may be that spawned improvements don't count towards wonder requirements, like you guessed. The easiest way to test that would be to buold 13 S&B's without the Masonic Order and see if the OTO appears. If not, you may have some other requirement somewhere that isn't being met. If you can't figure it out, upload the biq and I'll take a look.
FinnMcCool Apr 04, 2006, 12:23 PM Thanks WeaselOp, I didn't suspect pallette issues. I've seen that before, and the problem here is that nothing at all happens about a Small Wonder. No "we'd like to build the O.T.O" or anything. No option in the build queue, not merely a missing graphic. (though I really like William's ideas, I thought about the TLC and BB's but got sidetracked...)
I'm not eager to replay the game and build the Bonesmen manually, I might be inclined to test it in a created scenario, but cheezus! I've already done that... Is it really possible that spawned buildings don't count? Hasn't that already been tested? Hm...
William GBTW Apr 04, 2006, 12:25 PM They count I think. You should add the TLC and BB's; I'm suprised you've heard of them.

I think I did spawned buildings once.
mrtn Apr 04, 2006, 04:56 PM I believe that spawned buildings don't count, IIRC there was a problem with that in a very early version of the WH mod (1.1 or something like that).
FinnMcCool Apr 04, 2006, 07:10 PM CONFIRMED.
Re-ran the mod a couple turns earlier (after changing the conquests.ini entry in hopes of appeasing the RNG gods) (?) :mischief: ahem, anyhoo, reran the earlier turn, building 13 Bonesmen manually. Changed everything. Novus Ordo Seclorum showed up (requires 9 SaB's and Jerusalem) and also the O.T.O.
In the interesting sidebar info department: I also made peace with the US, and started another trade for Manifest Destiny (the US unique resource.) Earlier we had the same trade, and I built the Lend-Lease Act (I'm playing UK in this WWII mod) then the US attacked me. I had the L-LA in my build queue, so finished it, but once done, it wasn't producing destroyers. I wondered if it was because I wasn't receiving Manifest Destiny from the US anymore. After re-running this to test the OTO, I got destroyers on the turn I didn't get destroyers in the earlier timeline, when I didn't have Manifest Destiny.
Seems that a Wonder that requires a resource only produces its units so long as you still have that resource... Hm. Makes the blockade that much more powerful...

"Frozen Snot Land"???
 Lemme guess. Fargo?

Oh any self-respecting Conspiracy Theory nut has heard of these. I even remember the way GHW Bush led Dubya II out of the limo in a news clip. Once Iraq happened, it was clear who was in charge in that scene. JFK, Sum of All Fears, Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory, 1984, Wag the Dog, all great movies...

Yes, that's true.
"Frozen Snot Land"???
 Lemme guess. Fargo?Stockholm, Sweden. But now we're finally getting spring, so it's time to change back...
FinnMcCool Apr 05, 2006, 11:28 PM My Swedish is rusty, what would "frozen snotland" be in Swedish??
I'm keen enough to know what the real meaning of the author of the classic Edda is,
...drumroll...
Snorri Storullsson...
I do love the Swedish language... So frank, so honest...
