Please define "Only winnable by histograph"

You can't win by conquest, domination, space race, culture, diplomacy, VPs, elimination, or regicide. You would have a shot at the top histograph score at scen's end. :)

Since I rarely finish games I'm not sure if this is boring or not. I'll vote not since it would have to be less boring than Domination or Conquest.

well you could always win by conquest, could you not?
destroyed civs would be hard pressed to produce much on the history graph.
This would only serve to force you to play until the last turn no matter how quickly you smashed your foes.

In the scenario I'm thinking about, you won't be crushing your foes. :evil:

Also, if conquest is switched off, you won't technically win if you wipe out all your enemies.

What would happen if the human player conquered all the cities of the other civilizations? Would he have to keep playing through all the turns of the scenerio before truely winning?

I voted yes, but I wouldn't be surprised if you found a way to make it fun.

It would be fun if the oponent(s) would be strong enough. Since you would need to weaken it as much as possible to win. I voted No - it could be fun. Besides i usualy like to play peacefull games and atack only the civs that threated my position in the ranks. But untill 2050 i always get another kind of victory.

In fact, I would probably prefer that, I don't like it when I'm in a fun game, and need "just a few turn" to finish something, and can't because of the victory conditions.

I've always love the beganing mid game, but I get pissed and/or board at the end and kill civs for something to do.

No, the content of gameplay is more important. I've never finished RFRE but the mod itself is so well made that, although not happy about that fact, I still enjoyed playing it immensly. RFRE only has a SS victory so I think it's a similar situation.

I would not mind, I think.... because it might depend on what you have in mind.

Not really. It'd be somewhat RFRE-like in that only one civ is playable, and you try to do as well as possible with that one.

In case I decide Histograph-only is too impopular, I might make a VP scoring variant. In fact, I might do that even if people are prepared to live with Histograph-only, if I can make it work neat enough.

I voted "no" (not boring), since you can set the end of the scenario at any turn you want... you don't have to play all 540+ turns to complete on scenarios :) ... I hope :D

I voted "yes", but make them both anyway. There will surely be people who will enjoy it.;) You can please all the people some of the time; some people all the time; but, not all the people all the time.

I voted "yes" it would be COOL if you could win also by diplomatic victory.
