Breton Men-at-Arms complete Set. Added two models and revised the Officer. I admit I was a bit lazy with the maceman but as compensation he still has some teamcolor:mischief: . This models are meant to give a diverse look for one unit, because of this I only included one button. Enjoy!

Thx everyone. I hope to release the other two soon. Unfortunatly they won't support teamcolor but hope that's not so bad.
Edit: oh feedback about performance in game would be appreciated, didn't test much:mischief:

You'll suffocate him, if he doesn't die from the chill first or simply explodes! You madman:cry:

Hmmm, here's the thing about the weapons pack, I'm going in a more fantasy direction with it, here's a preview of some of the stuff it's gonna have:
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7140/preview015st.th.jpg (http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=preview015st.jpg) http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/6426/preview025jc.th.jpg (http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=preview025jc.jpg) http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1557/preview038hw.th.jpg (http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=preview038hw.jpg) http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/9016/preview040ke.th.jpg (http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=preview040ke.jpg)

I'm not sure how well if will fit with regular medieval units. If you'd like some more realistic stuff I can certainly do it (it's easier too :)) but that'll have to wait for the next weapons pack.

P.S. Oh and thanks for not putting any pressure on me. :joke:

This is really good. Medieval units are a necessity in my opinion.

Hello Ploeperpengel!

Nice work on these Men-at-Arms!

I'm trying to use the unit in the lower left quadrant of the picture as a medieval police man, the one with the wide-brimmed hat, and I can't figure out how to setup the art defines for displaying this unit.

I copied the Swordsman directory from the ZIP file and renamed the directory as "EarlyPolice". Regardless of whether I plug in either of the two NIF files in the place where such is provided in the art defines, the unit looks like a plain ole' swordsman, not the wonderfully colorful unit you depict.

Can you tweak this art def code to display the unit with the wide-brimmed hat?

<fScale>0.44</fScale>
<fInterfaceScale>1.0</fInterfaceScale>
<bActAsLand>0</bActAsLand>
<bActAsAir>0</bActAsAir>
<NIF>Art/Units/EarlyPolice/BoundShape.nif</NIF>
<KFM>Art/Units/Swordsman/Swordsman.kfm</KFM>
<SHADERNIF>Art/Units/Swordsman/Swordsman_FX.nif</SHADERNIF>
<ShadowDef>
<ShadowNIF>Art/Units/01_UnitShadows/UnitShadow.nif</ShadowNIF>
<ShadowAttachNode>BIP Pelvis</ShadowAttachNode>
<fShadowScale>1.0</fShadowScale>
</ShadowDef>

Thank you!
Spocko

Think the Shadernif needs to point to the nif used above. Also, what sort of problem are you having? If it is the redblob syndrome, make sure it is the right .kfm

Ploeperpengel

<NIF>Art/Units/EarlyPolice/BoundShape.nif</NIF>

This line is wrong. Just put in the same as in shadernif. I believe(not sure) at the time I made this model I didn't own a graphiccard that supported shader at all so despite the name of the model it's probably noshader.

Thanks Ajidica.

Actually, the zip file doesn't contain a .kfm file for any of the three folders nested therein. So I pulled the kfm for the normal swordsman.

I don't know the function of a nif file or a kfm file... I'll do my homework to find out. But now that I've made the correction noted in Ploeperpengel's post (thank you too!),

This line is wrong. Just put in the same as in shadernif. I believe(not sure) at the time I made this model I didn't own a graphiccard that supported shader at all so despite the name of the model it's probably noshader.

no line in the art def points to the directory where I copied the swordsman folder from the zip file - they point only to the swordsman folder:

<fScale>0.44</fScale>
<fInterfaceScale>1.0</fInterfaceScale>
<bActAsLand>0</bActAsLand>
<bActAsAir>0</bActAsAir>
<NIF>Art/Units/Swordsman/Swordsman_FX.nif</NIF>
<KFM>Art/Units/Swordsman/Swordsman.kfm</KFM>
<SHADERNIF>Art/Units/Swordsman/Swordsman_FX.nif</SHADERNIF>
<ShadowDef>
<ShadowNIF>Art/Units/01_UnitShadows/UnitShadow.nif</ShadowNIF>
<ShadowAttachNode>BIP Pelvis</ShadowAttachNode>
<fShadowScale>1.0</fShadowScale>
</ShadowDef>
<fBattleDistance>0.35</fBattleDistance>
<fRangedDeathTime>0.31</fRangedDeathTime>
<bActAsRanged>0</bActAsRanged>

So, as you would suspect the problem is not the evil red blob, but that I see only a normal swordsman.

I'm wondering if the zip file is missing an "officer" folder or something?

It would also be helpful to post the art def code that pertains to the wide-brimmed figure...

Thanks for your help guys!

The name of the model also is swordsman.nif not swordsman_fx.nif

Oh, well another thread raised from the dead - and for something which could easily be figured out by looking at tutorials or actually simply experimenting a bit (it's not like there are more than 2 or 3 options to begin with).

<NIF>Art/Units/EarlyPolice/swordsman.nif</NIF>
<KFM>Art/Units/Swordsman/Swordsman.kfm</KFM>
<SHADERNIF>Art/Units/EarlyPolice/swordsman.nif</SHADERNIF>

Now can we please let this thread rest again ;)
