In this thread you may bid on land the government owns. Currently there are 20 plots available. I will release 10 now and the other 10 later. The prices listed here are the minimum you must pay to buy the land. This is a standard auction, whoever posts the highest amount wins the land. If two people post the same amount the first person to post wins the land. Once I see that a piece of land hasn't had a new bid in at least 48 hours, I shall sell the land. (the "I" means as a government official, not me as George)

Quick question 4m is one loaf of bread meaning 5 food, correct? Does that mean when I purchase it, I get a benefit of 25 a turn (5 gold x 5 food = 25 gold) or do I just get 5 gold benefit for having food on it?

They multiply so you get 25 gpt.

The other patches of land i think George was planning on releasing when we have more people.

Food and hammers are worth 3 gpt..so you would get 15., Check the other land thread...Commerce get 5 gpt.

for 4m if I understand right 5 food times 3 give 15 then you get a base rate of 5 so you get 20gpt

Ahh thats what I meant...when I posted it I was looking over a lot of stuff so I got the prices confused, thanks though.

If you look close, there's one loaf of bread plus one food. The land has 6 food x 3 =18 plus 5 (per plot)=23gpt. The other way to look at it is that we set the initial price at 10xgpt, so you would get your money back in 10 turns.

People are going to be getting lots of money and quickly. I want to wait until everyone has built up a cash supply and inflation is starting to effect the game. Then I'll release some more land and take some of the money out of the game helping inflation. According to the rules, we should have 20 plots available right now, but I was afraid that much land all at once will deflate land value. Land value is high in RL because you can't really create more, so I wanted to limit the amount of land around.

George, I think you made a mistake on my account:

4M 6food
5L 5 commerce 3 food

4m would be worth 6x3=18 gold + 5 gold for the plot itself
5L would be worth 5x5= 25 gold + 5x3= 9 gold + 5 gold for the plot itself
therefore 18+5+25+9+5= 62 not 52.

I'm assuming it was just a typo, considering the 5 is next to the 6, but I checked everyone elses account and there all the right amounts.

Umm, actually I forgot to carry the one when adding 23 and 39 :rolleyes:, but I like your suggestion of just missing the key. Yeah, that's what I did.
