Tae Shala,

Really enjoy playing with your female advisor. It feels much better now when she tells that I am technologically backwards or that the Chinese are disdainful of our culture!

How is work on the other female advisor going? I can use some good news from the Science and Military Advisor as well...

I am working on a redhead for the next advisor.

But takes some time to find enough good pics to use them for four different moods.

I think it will come in a few days. ;)

I am proud that you enjoy it.

This is probably a dumb question, but how can i use both of your advisor mods at the same time? i.e. how can i have them both show up in the advisor_tab.pcx file?

In the other thread you can download a version with both.

Or use this one:

Tae, I was thinking of trying to create my own advisors. How were you able to do yours? What program did you use?

Taé -

Followed your instructions, put it in game, but it's not showing up.
Any suggestions????

Taé Shala

You followed the order #2 of the readme.txt?
Look in your .../Civ3/Art/SmallHeads directory for the file popupFOREIGN.pcx. It should show you the replacement. If not copy the file from the down load over it.

Sorry to confuse you Taé,
I was referring back to our Oct '02 discussion.

Nate > Perhaps a number of colors problem. It should be in 8 bits.

NateDawgNY
Nov 11, 2003, 09:48 PM
Hmm.... Well I know that a .bmp file is done in 24 bits, but what type of file is done in 8; a .pcx????

Supa
Nov 12, 2003, 12:33 AM
The pcx used in Civ3 are in 8 bits, so yours must be in 8 too.

NateDawgNY
Nov 12, 2003, 08:44 PM
So what do you recommend Supa?
Taé recommended that you start off with a .bmp then convert it to .pcx.
Should I just do all the work in .pcx??

Taé Shala
Nov 13, 2003, 12:33 PM
You can do it. I only prefer working with .BMPs. They are more universal. But there should be no problem if you have a good prog that can edit .PCX. :ok:

NateDawgNY
Nov 13, 2003, 09:06 PM
Well I finally got it to work in-game, but the image colors are distorted.
Any way to prevent this??

Taé Shala
Nov 14, 2003, 01:00 AM
Easiest way to get around this limitation is to open an copy of an original .pcx. You can then use the palette.

NateDawgNY
Nov 16, 2003, 02:50 PM
Use the palette???
Are you talking about manually adding the picture into the magenta one color at a time???
Could you elaborate on this a little more?

Taé Shala
Nov 16, 2003, 03:09 PM
Yes. You understand. Copying groups of pixels.

NateDawgNY
Nov 16, 2003, 07:12 PM
Wow, now that's some work!

Thanks Taé.
