Some sceenies of our current lands.
It's important to note that we have two sources of gold. The second was revealed by our borders expanding.
Settler Estimate:
If we were to start training a settler now, without reassigning any citizens in Delhi, it would take 25 turns.
The Northwest:

jeejeep Apr 25, 2006, 03:18 PM Why not worker-settler or something? Are we in a rush to build that settler?
Can't really judge the time until delhi grows to size two.

It's two turns until Delhi grows, BTW.
Emp. Killyouall Apr 25, 2006, 04:57 PM Make these threads for 10 turns, so we don't take up too much space and it is easier to read.
koondrad Apr 25, 2006, 04:59 PM Make these threads for 10 turns, so we don't take up too much space and it is easier to read. Yeah, that's the plan. I'm just doing 7 -10 so that we start on a decent number.
I am the Future Apr 25, 2006, 05:13 PM continueing from the old thread, I would say that Babyloco (bab-a-lo-co)
would be a good name. IMHO
King Flevance Apr 26, 2006, 01:27 AM I like the worker before settler idea, this will give us the ability to get a farm on the corn to help aid settler production. then run up and get the the wheat farmed as well along with connecting roads. All this while we produce whatever comes after the settler.
I would like to suggest that after meditation we go for masonry if that wasnt already the plan.
ranathari Apr 26, 2006, 07:26 AM We want a city up in the Northwest to take that second gold deposit and we definitely want one down in the southwest to exploit all those forests. Our biggest problem is the less than ideal starting location we've got - we're going to fall behind in production due to a lack of hammers so I back Jeejeep's idea of getting a worker out before a settler - we'll be able to keep research cranked up high too.
How about "Delhi-Belly" for our existing capital and Babyloco for our first new city?

Deloco?
Delhico?
@IatF - I don't suppose you want to make a poll with all the suggestions for the new names?
@jeejeep, KF and ranathari - Concensus seems to be that we're going for a worker first then, when the time comes? Also I remember Karl suggesting it in another thread.
I'll get a worker estimate this turn.

Delhi will grow next turn.
Currently:
- Warrior will be completed in 8 turns.
- A Fast Worker could be trained in 15 turns.
The E. It looks like we may be have a lagoon:

Any opinions on what tiles we should work after Delhi grows?
Cheers,
Karl Townsend Apr 26, 2006, 03:28 PM just move the warroir onto the hill and were done

What? That's what we're doing. We're moving down the coast.

ranathari Apr 27, 2006, 03:12 PM We could switch from working the forest to working the two hammer hill? We'd still have a food surplus and we'd gain a production boost.
Emp. Killyouall Apr 27, 2006, 04:24 PM hmm... I would say fishing, with all those delicious water tiles just waiting to be worked... and its really a coin toss on the settler or worker...
koondrad Apr 27, 2006, 04:58 PM hmm... I would say fishing
Sounds good. Any other opinions as there are only two turns to go until we need a new tech to research.
Personally I would be considering either fishing or agriculture as growth is very powerful in [civ4] and because we should exploit our resources.
@ranathari - sounds like a possibility. We'd be losing two :food: in favour of one :hammers: . As with most things, there is a trade off. We'd be losing some growth which would normally benifit us in the long run, but churning out a warrior and a worker/settler sooner. Any tech opinions, BTW?
King Flevance Apr 27, 2006, 06:25 PM How soon are we wanting to capitolize on a workboat for the crabs? I suggest going for:
Agriculture: to get the farm build since we are making a worker next, as soon as he pops out he can make the farm. This would also open access to animal husbandry in case we want to roll the dice for chariots for fast exploration. We have alot of lake around our city sites so agriculture will keep our worker busy for a while.
Fishing, will allow us to make workboats that we wont be able to build for 7 turns after researching it.
ranathari Apr 28, 2006, 04:13 AM I agree with Flevance: let's go for Agriculture because then we can develop that wheat and switch to get the extra hammers. That way we'll get a production boost without sacrificing as much growth.
(edit): That reminds me, which portion of the tech tree are you guys going for? If this was single player I'd just dash along the top towards a cultural victory but any military weakness will result in the other teams wiping us out rapidly. However, if we're on an island on our own then we could meander along the top of the tree and work on reinforcing our armies closer to the time ocean travel is possible.
Emp. Killyouall Apr 28, 2006, 11:30 AM Lets go for a conquest! Seriously, with Ghandi a Space or culture is the most likely. So we can head for expanding, science, and a few hundred cottages; or we can build wonders galore.
koondrad Apr 28, 2006, 11:39 AM So while we're waiting, I think the plan for the next turn is to move the warrior SE, and to change the forest tile to the plain hill tile?
koondrad Apr 30, 2006, 09:30 AM Moved warrior SE.
Tried to rename Delhi to Short Line Railway but there is a 15 char max.
Changed worker from forest to hill tile.
