On this, January 1rst of 4000BC, a few unlucky nomads found themselves what they "thought" was a good spot to settle. But, unforunantly they didn't look too hard. There were elephants to stmapede them. And there was an oasis of fresh water, in which these nomads thought was crap. So, they settled on a regent world, with a huge map, and 16 other civilizations, with a spot in the "promised land."

The tribe had decided to choose a young man as their leader. His name was Tokugawa, and they called themselves the Japanese, and worshiped the Rising Sun. Tokagawa had recent sucess in his first record, The Rising Sun (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=163834).

Now the story begins.

Domestic Advisor- What do we do now, Tokugawa?

Tokugawa- We curse the Rising Sun.

Domestic Advisor- But, I do agree with the people that it is time to settle. All of the nations in the world have already settled, for it is tradition, that on January 1rst, 4000BC, all the nations of the world settle.

Tokugawa- So be it. We name this crappy peice of land, Japan, and this tiny new village of crap, Kyoto.

So it was done, on January 1rst, the people of Japan settled on this crappy piece of land. Kyoto was founded. The people didn't seem too bad to it at first. Over the first 50 years, they had adapted to the 100 degree temperatures.

Tokugawa- Get my margarita, Johnny. No, Freddy, you stay here and fan me. Willbur, you stay in your pigsty. Cooper, get over here and get me some ice.

Cooper (Servant)- Where will I find ice sir?-

Science Advisor (trots in) - We can choose many things to research, sir. What would you like? Pottery Bronze--

Tokugawa- Whatever the heck Pottery is I'll take that.

Science Advisor- Pottery will allow us to build granaries, which will increase our food source.

Tokugawa- Very well. Research pottery.

Albert (Worker)(Enters Room) - Sir, those elephants we have seen will not stampede us. They will, instead, create ivory which will make us happy.

Tokugawa-[B] Oh, lord, anything to nake these people happy will do. :wow:

[B]Albert - Yessir. Also, sir, I have two things to ask you. That pool of water to our west is not contaminated or anything. It is completely drinkable and will provide us with food. Then, I have heard of a method called irrigation, which I can create nesr rivers. It will also increase our food source.

Tokugawa- :dubious:

So, Albert began his work and made shure that it was done well.

Looks like a fairly good start and better than settling on those yucky flood plains to the SE. I lost 4 citizens as Japan before I could get out a settler because I had to settle on flood plains.

I think that was part of the story to settle in 4000 BC, regardless of the starting location.

*cuts through thick jungles and stumbles on story* The great musketeer, D'Artagnan59, had discovered the Rising Sun 2 thread's ruins. There was a great source of plains after the jungles. It was infuriating knowing that the community was dead. Only a few people spoke of the updates. Then, the explorer finally yelled, "GIVE ME UPDATES OR GIVE ME DEATH!"

I haven't seen conquer dude since I came back from Italy last week.
