Hello!

To celebrate my survival of my trip to Pictland/Caledonia/Outer_Hebrides/Alba, I did this Albion unit: Fen beast. Enjoy :)

Note: Albion is a Warhammer fantasy race of humans living in a misty island where be dragons... and druids...

Here's some civilopedia info by games workshop:
The Fenbeast is an elemental monster raised from the depths of the Albion marshes. They are little more than mud and detritus of the marsh itself, bound together by the power of a small Ogham stone at there core. They feel no pain and have no emotions to speak of. The creatures are mindless and can only be directed by the will of their summoner, be they Truthsayer or Dark Emissary.

Capable of riping a man in two and as tough as a Troll. Fenbeasts are a living embodiment of the elemental force of Albion and are fearsome monsters.

Here are the files:
Fen Beast (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads11/FenBeast.zip) (~1,0 Mb)

Here is a preview of the attack animation (a bit fast, but you'll get the idea anyway ;) ) :

Attached is a civilopedia preview.

Great work, aaglo. I love the mud or whatever falling as it swings it's arm--super detail.

Games Workshop had a "special Albion theme" a couple of years ago (Dark Shadows - Summer Campaign 2001), it was available then, don't know if it still is.

If anyone makes a WH world map/scenario, this could be available to all civs if they get a special "Ogham/Fen/thingy" resource that's only available on that island. :)

Thanks aaglo!

Its been awhile since a new fantasy unit has been released. Finally that curse has been broken.

Very nice. I will have to find some use for it in my mod.

Still can't find it, but thanks for your answer and suggestion.
In fact Albion is no more in the list of armies, which is : Beasts of Chaos, Bretonnia, Dark Elves, Dogs of War, Dwarfs, Empire, High Elves, Hordes of Chaos, Lizardmen, Ogre Kingdoms, Orcs and Goblins, Skaven, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts, Wood Elves.

There's never been an Albion army. They had a campaign set in Albion, somewhat like the more recent Lustria and Storm of Chaos ones.

Ohh... ok then. Understood. I don't know much about WH, but the mod got my interest. Still, how come Albion is a civ in this mod ?
maybe I should ask this in the WH thread ?

The WH mod includes a number of civs that are only talked about in the fluff of WHFB. They exist in the world, but GW hasn't made 300 different minis for them. As we don't have to sell every civ in the mod we can also add the minor civs, we don't loose money, as GW would do, as we don't make any money.

That post suspiciously sounds like you are going to include the Ogre Kingdoms and the Fimir civs :mischief::p:king:

Why not ? An Ogre Civ would be great, with aaglo's units and a LH by...:mischief: well, Grandraem, maybe ? I'm gonna put this to the wish-list

You know, Gomurr () opened the WH discussion thread so we could discuss the Ogre Kingdoms civ he was going to make. But that was before he went silent on us. I still suspect he is working with the team to make the OK civ, and his silence is just a teaser to make us crazy, and totaly fall-of-the-chair surprised when he makes a come-back. And frogs can fly :crazyeye:

He also wanted to introduce the Border Princes civ, but that was a hard one to make (+ interesting enough).

And, the OK got its first unique (cos everyone cept Bretonnia uses ogres) unit - the Gnoblar by LizardmenRule! :)

 I'm so sorry, didn't want to bother you, friends...:suicide:
I know that wasn't the place, but a silent thread isn't one either ;)

What? No, you haven`t bothered anyone, and I think you misunderstood me - Gomurr opened the WH Discussion Thread - one of the 5 most active threads in the main C&C section, its been on the first page for 5 months or so :), and its definately not silent! If you want do discuss the ogres, stop by, we`ll talk :) I would advise you read the first 3 or 4 pages of the thread, so you can get acquainted (sp?) with the idea :)

@Stormrage (not so mean person)
Thanks, I take the advice. And yes I did misunderstand, I've read too fast (Gomurr went silent, not the thread, right?). See you on the WH discussion thread ;)

Wow! This is one really mucked up unit!

PS. The Fens are near Cambridge, not in Scotland. Sorry to sling mud at your successful unit release, but it was a monstrous mistake.

He is refering to some guy that posted in 15 minutes a "i like your unit" sorta post in EVERY thread on the first page of the units forum. But Chieftess cleaned the mess up now, all mesages erased. I edited my message where i expressed my discontent about him so that ppl won't think i was refering to another poster... Storm should do the same now. :)
