What dose it mean when it says stores 50% of food after growth or whatever it says ( can quite remember if that was accurate)?:confused:

if it takes 10 food to grow from population 1-2, then when you grow your set back to 0 food in your food box. a granary will allow you to start 50% of the way towards your next pupulation point.

Edit: kk another qeustion along the same lines, What dose the harbors 50% trade route thing mean?

not quite sure about that one, but I think it essentially just means that your trade is improved by half, so if you had 10 trade or something and the harbor would give you 15, and 5 is half of 10. The numbers or whatever are prob different, but I'm just explaining the idea here.

If a trade route would yield 4 Commerce, then a harbor would increase this yield to 6 commerce.

A Harbor increases your income from trade routes in that city by 50%.

Something to be careful of though; When there are multiple percentage bonuses acting on something, like building the Oracle as an industrious civ with marble, the percentages add together to deliver their final bonus. In the example I cited, the +50% bonus from industrious, and the +100% bonus from marble will together yield a bonus of +150%.

yea, with improvements that affect commerce (trade), production, and research (and sometimes culture I think), things are generally complicated when it comes to percentage type effects.

No they're not. All %-modifiers add together.
Bank(50%) + Market(25%) = +75% Gold.
Hindu Monastary(10%) + Library(25%) + Academy(50%) = +85% Science.
