View Full Version : 270-ish BC (Rise of Rome)
zimtallist May 02, 2006, 05:54 PM This is a mod based around 270-ish, though i dont know how accurate that is. The map and civs are based off Rome-total war. and i used that to make the map. All of the civs are playable, but if you play as one of the "barbarian" civs you'll be at a disadvantage because of location mainly. Most of the civs are at war with one or more enemies so youre early goals are set to war, I set troops as i saw fit, though it isnt very balanced. There are barbarians, but the Macedonians flag looks just like the barbarians, so just check before you attack
The civs are as follows
The Greek Empire
Germanic Tribes
Egyptian Empire
Gallic Tribes
British Tribes
Spanish Empire
Roman Empire
Parthian Empire
Numidian Empire
Seleucid Empire
Carthaginian Empire
Pontus Empire
Scythian Tribes
Armenian Empire
Thracian Empire
Dacian Empire
Macedonian Empire

The File isn't too big, but the amount of troops may make it laggy, I hope it works:goodjob:
griff09 May 02, 2006, 09:35 PM I tried to download the scenario...seems GREAT!!! Except there's nothing in the worldbuilder file...I don't think so anyways...help!!
<Mike
Nyvin May 02, 2006, 10:27 PM I think "Celtic" tribes would be more fitting for both Gallic and 'British' tribes...

zimtallist May 03, 2006, 03:22 PM Well it seems to work, but ill try and see if theres something wrong with the download place:goodjob:

Drtad May 03, 2006, 09:08 PM This might sound dumb, but I clicked on the link and I got to the site, but I cannot see the file there. It says rise of rome and the size, but I can't see the file.

Well i think you need to enter the code down at the bottom, the little numbers and letters. see if that works:goodjob:
Drtad May 03, 2006, 11:08 PM Thanks, it worked now.
zimtallist May 04, 2006, 05:22 PM Sweeeeet, tell me what u think:goodjob:
Drtad May 04, 2006, 07:18 PM Just some things I noticed. I played as Armenia and I saw that the capital should be Artaxata, not Artaxarta. The Parthian capital should be Ecbatana. The leader for Pontus should be Mithradates, not Cyrus. Armenia should have some more metal resources, and should be at war with the Seleucids and the Parthians. Just some feedback.

Thanks, im starting on a v2, so that will really help:goodjob:
Drtad May 05, 2006, 09:37 AM Thanks. One more thing, it would be better if the Armenian leader was Ardashes, because he began the Armenian dynasty in 180BC.

scipian May 13, 2006, 11:06 PM Just a couple of friendly suggestions. With Carthage it might be good to put coastlands between Caralis, Carthage, and Sicily. And also to either put more fish around the cities or put rivers in. As it was the cities were really small and starving.
Rome in a Day May 30, 2006, 03:46 PM I like the scenario, but I wish you had capped the tech tree. It is 240BC and I have rifleman. It would have been amazing if you couldn't advance beyond sowrdsman and galleys. Riflemen and frigates don't belong.
Fun to play though. I like the chaos of having so many civilizations to contend with.
RickFGS Jun 02, 2006, 08:31 AM Where is the Lusitania tribes....you skiped it, and dont tell me its spanish cause hispania is the meditterrenean side, Lusitania is the Atlantic one
Handsup[GER] Aug 14, 2006, 03:42 AM I like the scenario, but I wish you had capped the tech tree.
YES, definitly. I would like to see the tech tree from "Greek world". Sadly iam not able to managed it... who could help and enhance the scenario?
LlamaNamedOsama Jan 02, 2008, 06:22 PM Looks really cool.
Few suggestions about the names though; too many are named "empires", when other titles could better fit, as well as some historical name fixes
Egyptian Empire --> Ptolemaic Empire
Greek Empire --> Greek City-States
Carthaginian Empire --> Republic of Carthage
Roman Empire --> Republic of Rome
Spanish Empire --> Iberia
Pontus Empire --> Pontus
Macedonian Empire --> Kingdom of Macedonia
All in all,looks great, good work!
ohcrapitsnico Jan 02, 2008, 11:19 PM Could you please post pics, its just that I don't want to invest time into trying this out without seeing what I'm getting into. :) Looks interesting, so thats why I asked.
ashley26ph2003 Nov 05, 2010, 02:45 PM hi

Pef Jul 27, 2011, 06:28 AM seems dl isn't working , says " no input file specified "
Jayman1000 Aug 02, 2011, 09:07 AM Found this on Google: http://planetcivilization.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Scenarios.Detail&id=65
Could this be the file?
By viewing it in a text viewer, it certainly looks like civ4 file. Cannot test it right now, but it could be it. Could someone test it? Else I will probably have time to do it this evening :-)
