Thanks Watt_Connektion Mar 10, 2008, 01:20 PM If you edit these values in this XML document, does affect Beyond the Sword as well? If not, does anyone know how to make this change in Beyond the Sword? Watt_Connektion Mar 10, 2008, 01:46 PM I've found that making this change does not affect Beyond the Sword, however if you copy the "CIV4ProcessInfo" that you editted already from : C:\Civ4\Assets\XML\GameInfo and paste it to : C:\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\XML\GameInfo It will affect Beyond the Sword, and allow you to "Build Wealth" / "Build Culture" / "Build Research" from the start of the game! Yakk Mar 10, 2008, 01:52 PM Never change the base assets of the game. Instead copy the file to CustomAssets, and change it there. The CustomAssets file will "override" the base Assets file. ... Beyond the Sword exists in a subdirectory of Civ4. Watt_Connektion Mar 10, 2008, 02:13 PM Never change the base assets of the game. Instead copy the file to CustomAssets, and change it there. But what I am saying is that you have to actually copy and paste a file to add an XML document that did not exist in the default Beyond the Sword XML folder. I don't know if it is enough to put it into the custom assets folder by itself, or you have to copy the whole directory there with the "CIV4ProcessInfo" added. Yakk Mar 10, 2008, 06:57 PM Beyond the Sword does seem to take some XML assets from the base game. So snarf it from the base game, and put it in the appropriate spot, and then test to see if it works! TheLastOne36 Mar 11, 2008, 08:09 AM something unrelated, But what about making a new option called "Build Espionage"? It could be workable for CoL on. It seems like something Fireaxis "forgot". So snarf it from the base game, and put it in the appropriate spot, and then test to see if it works! Yeah, I found it does work. Just copy and paste the "Civ4ProcessInfo.xml" from the main game, edit it as mentioned, and put it in your Beyond the Sword custom assets XML folder, and it does work. something unrelated, But what about making a new option called "Build Espionage"? It could be workable for CoL on. It seems like something Fireaxis "forgot". Well, it seems more efficient to just dump it all into wealth and use the excess money to adjust your espionage meter. But you do bring up an interesting idea. I'm sure it can be done, but i'm happy with the 3 so far. I kind of do miss build "happiness" from the 2nd game or 3rd game ( can't remember which one ), but I guess "build culture" replaces that. deanej Mar 12, 2008, 08:54 PM If you want espionage, just use my convert production to espionage mod (link in sig). |
