i cant find a walk through for editing the saved game file with HexEdit. When i try to edit through DOS the first 4 numbers are 1776 instead of 14??:o

also when i edit through DOS all it does is corrupt my game.:o

It depens on what you want to edit. And don't forget that values are in low endian. It means that 04 7E (for instance) is actually coded 7E 04. So if you want to cheat on your money, you must search the value in low endian format. And yeah never edit using DOS.

You can try this editor I recently created, it does about everthing on the cheats page plus changing gevernments, etc. It runs in windows but edits CIV1 DOS saved games.:)
