i think we should wait until we've finished our first settler, it may only be a turn but that turn could be crucial in getting it down where we want it etc.
whereas poprushing anything right now will only set us back.
robboo May 25, 2006, 07:32 AM I agree no pop rushing till we need it to keep our people happy or healthy. Dont switch till after we build a settler sounds reasonable also. We want to appear behind in tech when we switch if the other teams see it..
Robi D May 25, 2006, 07:52 AM I would be against going to slavery straight away just because we can. If there is a need in the future then do it then otherwise we might go through a turn of anarchy for something we didn't use
GeorgeOP May 25, 2006, 08:11 AM Yeah, with slavery no longer being cheaper than non-slavery, it's kind of pointless to switch unless we have a reason to whip some citizens.
robboo May 25, 2006, 09:06 AM my thining is this..salvery switched now stops us from potentionally wasting a turn later when we need it. That turn could very well be the difference in getting something pillaged or having a defender available. I agree we shoudl wait..how about waiting till the next civic comes available and switch at the same time

The thing about catherine is the creativity trait expands are borders quicky so surprise attacks are more difficult. However if another civic comes along then i don't have a problem of switch to slavery too. We should aim anyway to do multiple civics changes at once to save on anarchy.
BCLG100 May 25, 2006, 09:33 AM As others have said, on noble i think you can switch 2 civics for 1 turn anarchy with a small sized civ so we should definatly wait.

I've switched 3 at once in some of my noble games for only a turn of anarchy

Yer i think thats the limit, i imagine we should wait for a slavery/theocracy switch.
Robi D Jun 01, 2006, 01:31 AM Now that the rice is done i think we should look at mining one of the hills for production.
BCLG100 Jun 01, 2006, 05:33 AM yep i was planning on, the hill nearest the pigs to save a movement turn for when we get AH :).

Cool, i was going to suggest building a cottage on the river also, but then i saw we didn't have pottery
BCLG100 Jun 01, 2006, 07:44 AM Cool, i was going to suggest building a cottage on the river also, but then i saw we didn't have pottery
yup we should maybe think whether we go for AH or pottery first, it'd be a shame to not use our financial trait to the best we can...
robboo Jun 01, 2006, 07:58 AM pottery and Ah..how many turns till each. Go for which ever is quicker. Better to have the worker working...if they are the same then go with the cotttage since it needs time to grow.
BCLG100 Jun 01, 2006, 09:05 AM Well AH is 20 beakers more expensive, so in theory it should be pottery but ill check next term whether we have the pre req techs.
edit-beakers even:)
Robi D Jun 01, 2006, 09:26 PM for pottery you need wheel which i don't think we have
BCLG100 Jun 04, 2006, 02:13 PM Well thats true robi but were researching the wheel :)
We can research either upon completion
Pottery in 10
AH in 11
Which do we go for?
Also pop growth in 2 same turn as when the warrior finishes, i was planning on fortifying the warrior and starting on a settler-how's that with everyone?
ybbor Jun 04, 2006, 02:30 PM pottery. a food resource isn't exactly a priority
BCLG100 Jun 04, 2006, 02:54 PM yup everything else seem good? I was thinking pottery as well, its cheaper and will let us start making use of our financial trait-shame about the patch getting rid of the bank thing :)
BCLG100 Jun 08, 2006, 07:04 AM 1 turn of growth till size 3 after hitting enter last time, so everyone looking forward to settler @size 3?
robboo Jun 08, 2006, 07:53 AM What are we building now??? If it will be done in a few turns we dont really need to hurry yet.
BCLG100 Jun 08, 2006, 08:31 AM nope i MM'd the city so the warrior would be done when we hit size 3, allowing us to switch over to settler.
robboo Jun 08, 2006, 09:25 AM Oh well then carry on good job:)
BCLG100 Jun 08, 2006, 09:35 AM thanks but im still checking whether everyone wants that settler out at pop 3, i dont see any reason for it not to be because it'll take awhile to grow to 4 with the pigs not oinking for us.
robboo Jun 08, 2006, 10:00 AM Well what ever you do..please take care for the settler better than you did our poor scout.:)
BCLG100 Jun 08, 2006, 10:57 AM Well what ever you do..please take care for the settler better than you did our poor scout.:)

ybbor Jun 08, 2006, 11:25 AM :p that was on ybbors watch :p
