Welcome to CFC! I haven't played this one before, but I think this is what you need to do. This one is certainly a bit unclear if you're not familiar with modding.

First, download the big graphics file linked to in the first post. Unzip it. It becomes a folder entitled "Star_Trek_Graphics_0.8.0", containing another folder entitled "Star Trek".

Now open up the scenarios folder in your Civ III folder. It should be Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios or similar. Drag the "Star Trek" folder into here. Make sure you drag only that folder and its contents, not the "Star_Trek_Graphics_0.8.0" that contained it. So the scenarios folder will contain the folder entitled "Star Trek", and if you go into that folder you will immediately see the subfolders "Art", "Text", "Sounds", and some documents. These documents aren't needed for the game, they're all information about it for you to read.

Now go back to the thread and download the other three (small) files provided at the end of the first post. One is another zip file and the other two are text documents. Unzip the zip file and you'll find four biq files. Put these directly into Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios. Now drag the two text documents into Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios\Star Trek\Text. And you're done!

There are four biq files because there are four versions of the scenario. You can play them by choosing Civ Content from the main menu when you boot up Civ III.

As I said, I haven't actually installed this, just looked at the files and guessed where they should go, but I think this ought to work!

thanks, but i'm a bit confused.
is there a difference between Civilization 3, and civilization 3 conquests?

is conquests the expansion.......

if so, are any of the mods here designed for non-expansion?

Yes, Conquests is the expansion. Most of the mods and scenarios here require Conquests because it's possible to make much better mods and scenarios with it - it has more tools than than plain unexpanded Civ III.

There are some mods here designed for unexpanded Civ III - basically all the ones made before Conquests came out. So have a look for the oldest ones you can find. But you might be better off just getting Conquests, because (a) it makes Civ III much better, and (b) all the really good mods and scenarios, and certainly all the recent ones, require it.
