OK, if you want you can play from 4000 BC. Speed is Marathon because I love CKNs. However, I really wanted some input on whether or not to build the wonder I'm researching in 800 BC. :)

Researching Polytheism to build the Parthenon. Have already built Stonehenge, The Oracle and The Pyramids in Beijing ... because I could. :)

Please take a look and have fun if you dare. Warning: Lots of barbarians.

Oops .... second save is from earlier version with different strategy. Reply has current version. And yes, I'll replay openings some times as I'm still learning! :)

Clearly, the wrong link for current game. I tried two different strategies, this one worked better:

The start is nice, but the real power lies in what is revealed and the techs from the huts.

Why not build it you can always get the cash if you don't make it. Plus that birthrate bonus really helps getting your empire going. You do well with those CKN's and are a constant warrior machine in other games. Did you decide to go to builder mode??

I built the Parthenon and the increasesd GPs have been fun to use. I'm not really a total builder and not a total warmonger, just somewhere in between. I had to take out Cyrus because he was being a pain. Napoleon is always a pain, but even though I'm -4 on failure to pay tribute, he won't declare war on me.

It won't matter much as the Cavalry will take out his cities and leave me the continent alone. Then I can switch to builder mode. Probably a space race again. Sigh ...
