Really quick question. Does giving the AI a favorable deal in tech trades or others better relations w/ them? Or does a fair trade for both sides give the same bonus?

I don't think it affects what they will give, but whether or not they will give a deal in the first place.

AFAIK, all trades give the same diplomatic bonus, up to +4.

When you trade with the ai for positive relations you are just hurting yourself. Why get a +1 with one guy, when it will automaticaly give you 3x(-1) or worse with others?

This is only an issue when you're trading with someone's enemy. If you trade with neutral parties, or with just a single faction, you'll never accrue meaningful negative modifiers. This encourages you to build an allied coalition, and trade amongst its members while boycotting the others.
