It be nice to have this componect so that we can at least have some fun in battling, the rpg style that i like to have is just the combat part of it, I don't want to deal with putting up a lot of equipment for my warriors and all that. All i want is the ability to control your three man in battle in a Active time battle, be able to use any time of skill that the unit has and defect the enemy and get the gold. This mod will take some time to make, cause i want to see a lot of skills for each unit, like a power shot or ultima spell, something like that. I know that if this mod will be made, it can be use the many things, Just make sure it's good.

I also have thought about this idea, but the coding would be a mess. If this is completed it would probablly be a huge breakthrough in CIV modding.

Good luck with this darkedone - sounds like a lot of work. I hope you're up to it!

True, it would be cool to pull off in Civ4, but I wouldn't try it. Unless you wanted to use the full Civ4 engine for certain things, it would probably be easier (and would yield better results, graphically at least) to use a standalone game engine, rather than a series of rough hacks.

Granted, I would LOVE to see a free, Civ4-based MMORPG using a custom scenario. You could get into things like empire management when you take over a town for yourself.
