I almost took a pass on this because of the qualification for achieving a conquest victory. I think you should have a good grasp of a difficulty level before shooting for one specific victory condition. So, with that in mind, here are some threads where people have given lots of good advice for the move from Noble to Prince:

Be agressive... I noticed that even in prince AI builds a lot of archers so take romans and learn iron working... get iron, make 15 praetorians and go...

It's also worth reading Sisiutil's ALC threads which are all at prince level, lots of discussion of tactics and strategy.

Don't worry, just try and error until you succeed.
Some general tips:
1. Use at maximum your leader special abilities, if is Philosophical, use specialists and wonders to get as many GP as possible, if is aggresive, start early wars, if is spiritual, change civics and religions oftent to maximize the output of your empire at certain date or for diplomacy reasons, if is financial cottage spam, if is organized... ok, I guess you got the point.
2. Trade and diplomacy. Is very important to trade very often with the AI for technology, resources, world map. Make them fight each other.
3. Spies. Use your spies to slow down the oponents spaceship building.
4. Specialise at least a beat your cities, don't build just everything. Build only what you need.
5. Micromanagement. You need to do more of that, if you want to beat AI's Bonuses. At the begining is even easy to do it and it can mean a big diverence. Saving one turn with micromanagement at the begining of the game, can mean a lot (founding religions, being first to build a wonder, etc.)
I guess for prince level is enough. The important thing is to try to use as many features as possible. The game is very complex, and can offer a lot of options to use.

I do agree with this. I find a spaceship victory is the easiest to achieve and it also lets you play through all of the game. Conquest and Domination can be tough if you're not used to the increased costs of expanding.
