No Save Game Editors!
joespaniel Feb 26, 2002, 09:41 PM I asked Lefty to close the old thread, to avoid confusion.
Here is the current saved game:
We are at war with Rome for dominance of Western Europe.
donsig Feb 26, 2002, 09:45 PM Here is the order played so far:
Empror Coopinius
donsig
lkendter
joespaniel
xrang the II
PreTzel_22 started the thread, played a round but wasn't able to post the sav. I then played the same he had played. (I offer my apologies for that again.)
We could keep this order and it would be PreTzel_22's turn. Is this order ok with everyone?
xrang the II: it's up to you to keep the first post updated.
:)
xrang the II Feb 27, 2002, 10:16 AM I am going to edit the post. It's a good thing my turn won't come up soon, as I've just installed a new CD writer in my computer and it's having some (I believe) hardware problems. I'll be editing the post from my other computer. Oh, and I wont cut and paste the turn summaries like I said...we'll just start from scratch...
EmprorCoopinius Feb 27, 2002, 04:57 PM Sounds good to me, let's get this going again.
xrang the II Feb 27, 2002, 06:30 PM Pretzel_22, it's your turn. What was that confusion about two games going at once?
donsig Feb 27, 2002, 06:40 PM What was that confusion about two games going at once?
That was my confusion in the original thread. Empror Coopinius started the game and posted the sav. Then PreTzel-22 (who started the original thread) posted something to the effect that he was 'starting'. He was then unable to post his save but e-mailed it to someone. I assumed that 'starting' meant starting a game but I now realize he meant starting his turns. Before I figured that out I jumped on the posted sav, played and posted my results. lkentder played right after me and joespaniel after him. (This due to more confusion about the game being open.)
Anyway, I hope all the confusion is behind us now that we have a new thread, a playing order and know the game is not open!
:)
xrang the II Feb 27, 2002, 06:48 PM thanks for clearing that up, donsig
joespaniel Feb 28, 2002, 08:29 PM Hey Pretzel, sit down a while. How are things going in Germany? ;)
xrang the II Mar 01, 2002, 04:32 PM Pretzel, are you playing? If you don't post 'got it' before 12:00 AM Empror Coopinius will have to take it. I don't want the game to slow down!
xrang the II Mar 02, 2002, 11:33 AM Empror Coopinius, please take the game. Pretzel, no worries ,we can make you play after Empror Coopinius if you can.
EmprorCoopinius Mar 02, 2002, 02:58 PM Got it.
LKendter Mar 02, 2002, 03:35 PM [party]
We get some action.
[party]
EmprorCoopinius Mar 03, 2002, 06:16 PM All hail Kaiser Friedrich von Cooper II, crowned in Berlin, August 570 BC.
570 BC - The King orders a spearman whipped in Rome, while German swordmen engage and destroy a Roman warrior unit south of Corinth. The galley sent northward by von Cooper's predecessor continues to scout the western coast of Scandinavia. The same swordman unit which finished the wretched Roman warriors fights off an attack from reinforcing Roam archers and becomes elite.
550 BC - The spearmen in Rome begin to garrison their city, and a library is ordered begun. German work gangs begin cutting roads south of Innsbruck and Krakow. An emissary from Xerxes' court demands our territory map and 23 gold. We scoff at them and they declare war. Athens finishes the Great Lighthouse.
530 BC - troop movement, galley contines to explore.
510 BC - troop movement, more exploration, Babylonians demand contact with the Nipponese and literature, we say no. Luckily for Germany, they have "bigger fish to fry" . The citizens of Liege open their temple for public worship, and begin raising swordsmen.
490 BC - An elite archer regiment east of Krakow attacks from a hill, but is destroyed by defending Roman archers. Four regiments march west on Pompeii, and two march south from Rome on Antium. Berlin finishes her marketplace and begins recruiting swordmen, Krakow finishes her granary and likewise begins raising swordsmen.
470 BC - An elite swordman regiment kills a detachment of Roman horse south of Pompeii, our brave regiments outside Antium kill one defending spearman regiment. A galley is spotted sailing west from the besieged city. Innsbruck finishes it's municipal granary and begins outfitting a new regiment of sword. (hard to think of different ways to say the same thing.)
450 BC - Our elite swordman regiment outside Antium falls on the spears of a regular regiment defending the city. The Kaiser is outraged. Our western forces meet with more success, killing all three spearman regiments defending the new Roman capital.
430 BC - Pompeii falls to our glorious German arms, a small segment of the population resists our occupation (1 resister). The King orders a spearman regiment raised to defend the new town. A new regiment of swordsmen leave Berlin, and another recruiting call is immediately put out. Alborg finishes her granary and begins recruiting swordsmen as well.
410 BC - The Resistance ends in Pompeii with the beheading of its' ringleaders in the public square, per the Kaiser's orders. Liege raises a new swordsman regiment, and also leaves the call out for more recruits.
390 BC - Roman warriors fortified north of Pompeii are routed by our swordsmen. Roman archers attack Krakow, but are massacred by the spearman regiment defending the city. A new regiment of swords is raised there, and the Kaiser orders another regiment of spear to be raised to defend the city. Innsbruck fields a new regiment of swordsmen and likewise raises another regiment of spear for civil defense. Bucharest finishes her granary and begins recruiting a new spearman regiment. The Kaiser's palace is expanded in a spontaneous show of affection by the people.
370 BC - Our swordman regiment in the east kills Roman archers east of Krakow. An elite regiment of sword is sent out from Pompeii to disperse Roman archers in the woods, but is defeated. A second regiment attacks and avenges the lost German regiment. Berlin fields another sword regiment and begins yet another.
350 BC - troop movement across the Reich. Three regiments of Persian horse arrive outside Bucharest, and attack a swordman regiment outside the city. It fights one off, kils another, and is finally killed by the third. The Romans land a regiment of archers north of Pompeii. Bucharest outfits a regiment of spear and begins raising swordsmen.
330 BC - The Kaiser, not wanting to fight a two-front war, swallows his pride and negotiates peace with Persia for 80 gold. The Roman archers north of Pompeii are destroyed. Catherine sends her emissary and demands the Reich's territory map and 29 gold. The Kaiser rails against her in private, but accepts her demands in public, because the Reich cannot fight on both her borders at once. With this, however, Russia has earned the lasting hatred of the von Cooper line. Alborg fields a new regiment of sword and begins raising spearmen, Krakow garrisons its' newly raised spearman regiment in the city and begins recruiting swordsmen. Innsbruck does the same.
310 BC - A regular swordsman regiment finds and destroys a Roman archer detachment west of Rome and becomes veteran. Two swordsman regiments attack Antium, both are destroyed. The Kaiser senses that the time to end the war is now, so that German troops can be armed and placed at optimal points of attack to bring the Romans to heel. He signs a peace traty, and Rome cedes the cities of Antium and Viroconium to the Reich.
Notes: It was all good till everyone started messin with our Kool-Aid. Now I think Russia and Persia will both have to die, just a matter of time. Western Europe is now pretty much secure, they have 3 more cities which we should be able to take at our leisure. I suggest Greece as our next target...Corinth is a big green eyesore in our empire. Next? :)
EmprorCoopinius Mar 03, 2002, 06:19 PM And the file.
joespaniel Mar 03, 2002, 10:13 PM Nice summary Coop! :goodjob:
I love a German dominated Europe! :D
PreTzeL_22 Mar 04, 2002, 02:29 PM Once more (groans), I'm sorry. BUT. It ain't cause I'm not reliable, It's cause my computer refuses to let me post. If at all I don't reply, don't think I've just forgotten. I'm really sorry guys, I don't have nearly enough time on my hands to keep up with this.
I vill play next (in two days), then we can resume normal order.
donsig Mar 04, 2002, 03:42 PM Glad you made peace with the Persians. Was a little bit worried about the immortals. It is wise to fight one at a time.
Hey PreTzel_22: Are you still unable to post attachments or are you also having trouble posting replies? I think you have to made a certain number of posts (10?) before you can attach files to your replies.

donsig Mar 04, 2002, 03:52 PM Donsig, it looks like your time to move.
I'm at work now and can't play.:(
Also, PreTzel-2 said he wanted to play and I've already played over his turns once. I don't want to do that again to the guy.
PreTzeL_22 Mar 05, 2002, 02:22 PM Also, PreTzel-22 said he wanted to play and I've already played over his turns once. I don't want to do that again to the guy
aaawww.... so kind.... Actually, thank you, nobody seems to like me :( .
Hey PreTzel_22: Are you still unable to post attachments or are you also having trouble posting replies? I think you have to made a certain number of posts (10?) before you can attach files to your replies.
I thiiiiiiiiink :scan: I've posted more than ten (more than likely). I'll play the game tomorrow and If I can't attach it, well, I'll just have to leave the game (GASP! NO! )
PreTzeL_22 Mar 06, 2002, 02:31 PM Just so nobody starts playing in my place (grrrr  ......), I will phrase this so nobody gets any other impressions: I WILL PLAY THE GAME AND ATTEMPT TO POST IT THIS AFTERNOON, OK? If I can't play it, whoever's next in line, post their email adress, so I can send it to you if all else fails.
BTW, what is the process required to get a screenshot to appear in my posts? I tried "Print Screen", and then a paste, but it just don't work! Help!
In regards to the game: I'm glad we made peace with Persia (Immortals), but aren't they a little far away to be threatening? I though Persia was in the middle East? Anyway, why make war on Greece, shouldn't we wait till Hoplites aren't in vogue? I'm thinking more of invading England. Never mind, we shall crush them in time.... :tank: :tank: :tank: :tank: :tank: :tank:
ACHTUNG PANZER!
EmprorCoopinius Mar 06, 2002, 04:32 PM Yeah, they're far way, which is why I didn't care if they declared war, but once they actually showed up, I was in the middle of Latin-bashing, and didn't want a 2-front war. Figured I shouldn't repeat Germany's greatest mistake before we even got out of the ancient era. As for the Greeks, the only reason I suggested them is cause they planted Corinth right in the middle of France (bastards) and we could get the Great Lighthouse out of it if we took Athens. I'm all for killing England too though =) Good luck with the game.
PreTzeL_22 Mar 07, 2002, 02:13 PM Here's the game. Donsig, it's your turn.
I'll post a report this afternoon.
PreTzeL_22 Mar 07, 2002, 10:54 PM 320BC (How does one know when Christ is to be born?... ;) ) Herr Pretzel, the warmongering egomaniac, assumes power over the small but soon to be dominant German civilisation.
T 1: Herr Pretzel has the distinguished honour of clicking on the 'end turn' button.
T 2: To sate his egomaniacish desires, Herr Pretzel renames our glorious capital 'Pretzelgrad'. The people throw spontaneous celebrations in honour of Herr Pretzel's ascension to power. Our palace is given a choice looking roof, though heating still remains a problem.
T 3: A turn of realisations: Herr Pretzel notices an anstonishing lack of workers and galleys, and the thorn in our side, Conrith, is fully realised as the annoyance that it is. Herr Pretzel does a tour of duty in his humvee to wip the inhabitants of several cities into producing 'two minute swordsmen'. Our boys move into attack positions outside Conrith, Hoplites or not, we shall prevail, we shall fight them in the streets, we shall fight them on the beaches...
T4: War is declared on the evil Greeks, several workers are captured while on a smoko brake. Legions of swordsmen move in and cut Conrith off.
T 5: Our swordsmen attack Conrith, two hoplites are killed at no loss, and a last warrior almost kills one of our swordsmen. Conrith is ours! Although one disgruntled lady leads a band of resistors against our noble cause.
T 6: The leader of the band of resistors in conrith is deported to a new residence in the English channel. Egypt demands that we give them tribute, but our Iron leader is not one to be intimidated
by threats such as: "We will send our war chariot to squash you."
Egypt declares war. Our swordsmen redeploy for further attacks on Greece, who has thus far failed to respond. Hahahaha!
T 7: Our 'alchemists' discover monarchy (what does alchemy have to do with that?). Herr Pretzel wisely delays a revolution until we are descisively whipping Greece.
T 8: A galley heads to colonise Norway. (I suggest that that city is founded ON THE COAST). Greek bandits raid Innsbruck, the cowards.
T 9: Sparta is captured! The greek raiding party is defeated, but, true to greek nature, flee the might of or legions of swordsmen.
T 10: Construction is discovered! Monotheis is discovered!(through the great library. We will get feudalism for free, though).
Our people (no doubt entirely because of the great Herr Pretzel)
enter a new age of prosperity! The last of the greek raiders, once again in typical cowardly fashion, attacks a 1 hp swordsman but is killed! HAHAHAHA! Death to the Cowards! Seeing that the time for a new leader has come, Herr Pretzel supports a revolution to lead our people to a greater future!
Long Live Germany!
BTW, WE MUST GET SUN TZU'S ART OF WAR!
LKendter Mar 07, 2002, 11:19 PM I may get to play soon :)
joespaniel Mar 08, 2002, 12:01 AM Ditto. :D
donsig Mar 08, 2002, 01:43 AM 130 BC: A few entertainers are hired so as to avoid civil disorder on top of anarchy.
110: German settlers land in Sweden. There's Ruskies everywhere! Noble leader, give me more panzers that I may drive them over the beating hearts of our enemies! Including those war chariots near Athens.
90: War chariots gone.:) Greek horsemen make a run for the undefended Pretzelovski. (Why do our cities have Russian sounding names?) War chariots advance on Bucharest. We learn republic. Shall we have a revolution or are we happy with our anarchy? Hmmm. Pretzelville riots trying to figure that one out.
70: Greek horse falls outside Pretzelville as Oslo is founded in the north.
50: More Egyptians killed as our troops advance towards Athens in force. We lose a regiment of swordsmen to a Greek horse.
30: Donsig proclaimed King of the Germans. The new king tours his kingdom and issues a flurry of orders to ready his kingdom for the years ahead. Donsig orders Pompeii abandoned and puts down riots in Krackow.
10 BC: Outskirts of Athens is reached. Liz is upset because the citizens of Pompeii have moved into her territory. She's about to become even more upset...
10 AD: King Donsig passes away. His unpopolar son takes the throne and there are riots, riots, riots. Alex wants to talk. Must have something to do with the seven regiments of swordsmen outside Athens. Donsig II scorns the Greek peace offer and passes into history.
30: Donsig III takes his fathers place and Athens as well (along with its Great Lighthouse). He then finsihes another project started by his grandfather by founding the city of Brest right smack in England's territory. Liz declares war.
More to come. I'll finish my turns in the morning.:) (Well, later this morning after I sleep a little. It's 3 am here.)
donsig Mar 08, 2002, 12:24 PM 30 AD (continued): Greeks land on the Adriatic coast. Egyprians mass near Athens.
50: Still 2 chariots near Athens. Peace made with Alex. We get 8 g, 2 g/t, Pharsalos (N. Turkey) and Argo (Sunny Sahara). he Egyptian attack on Athens fails.:) The do take the undefended North Turkey.
70: Egyptians defeated outside Athens once again.
90: Library built in Bucharest. 3 war chariots converge on the undefended Sunny Sahara.
110: Cleo takes Sunny Sahara.
130: Advancing on North Turkey.
150: Massive civil unrest in the kingdom as Donsig VI is off campaigning in Turkey.
170: North Turkey recaptured.
190: China makes demands. The King refuses. Mao declares war.
210: Battle for New Turkey continues.
230: Egyptians defeat our forces and burn North Turkey. Liz wants peace and we get 7 g & 3 g/t. Library built in Athens. Forces rush to defend the straights near Turkey as Donsig XII orders horsemen recruited.
250: The battle for the straights begins.
EDIT: Attachment deleted to save server space!
donsig Mar 08, 2002, 12:29 PM The war with Egypt is non-productive. We should be able to hold the straights with minimal defense. We're probably better off making peace, kicking the Romans out of Spain and gearing up for the inevitable confrontation with the Russian powerhouse. We'll have feudalism in one turn. Two wonders in progress. The Hanging Gardens are most important IMHO. We have happiness problems in monarchy. I shudder to think what would happen in a republic. We have huge cities.
I was planning to disband Pretzelville and rebuild on the south coast of France.
EDIT: Attachment deleted to save server space!
EmprorCoopinius Mar 08, 2002, 02:10 PM Good idea. Maybe give the cities their real names back too. ;)
LKendter Mar 08, 2002, 06:30 PM Preturn -
FieldMarshall Lee feels insulted.
For German blood is much of what runs in his veins.
Our capital is renamed Berlin.

Delhi gets the Gardens in 28 turns.
Paris gets the Great wall in 42 turns.
Japan gets the Great wall in 29 turns.
All possible embassies are established.
Trade world map around.
Get a few bucks. Get some territory maps.

I see the French map. Displacing them slowed India and China down.
:flamedevi:
Do I turn Babylon on Egypt?
I turn Persia on Egypt at the cost of Feudalism.
We are now trying for Sun Tzu, not great wall.
What have we started?
France and Egypt sign an alliance against Persia!
Palace expansion.
270 AD - Finally, another turn ;)
Marseilles is formed, as a German city :)
Peace with Egypt. We give them $45, and pick up a working during the deal.
OK, more civs are annoyed with us, but what is new?
Start a wine for spice trade with India.
We still have 2 wines idle.
The palace expands again.
280 AD - Weee. The goody hut in Africa is angry barbs.

Still working on the game ;)
LKendter Mar 08, 2002, 07:17 PM 310 AD - Hanging gardens expires to quickly, switch Liege to palace.
I hope to snag the Chappel
Good think I was giving up on the Gardens, Thermoplyae builds it!
A dangerous cascade to Sun Tzu.
Bad news - Theology from the GL. That means major competion for Sistine.
Chivalry is ordered.
320 AD - India gets our spare iron for $17/turn.
Purchase a Roman worker.
China will finally talk, the the price is absurd.
Japan and Egypt sign an alliance versus Persia
Yet, Japan can really hurt them!
I must be doing something right, yet another palace expansion.
This is the wierdest palace I have ever seen. ;)
330 AD - Rome and Persia sign an alliance against France.
Zululand and Egypt sign an alliance against Persia.
340 AD - Zzzzzz
350 AD - See 340 AD
Still working on it. 45 minutes for 5 turns - already!
LKendter Mar 08, 2002, 08:54 PM 360 AD - [party] We can now trade with Persia. They get wines for $10/turn.
Babylon, Russia are now eligible to trade with, but are broke :(
Chinesse price for "peace" is still absurd.
Rome and Egypt sign an alliance against Babylon
370 AD - Zzzzz
380 AD - Hmmm... I suggest that Greece get Nervous.
Chinesse forces approaching Trans Russia.
390 AD - Is it time for bed?
400 AD - Peace with China. We give them Trans Russia. It was a 1/1 city, and had a large stack on
units approaching it. We then trade China wines for silks & $1/turn.
Another round of trading, just a few bucks and terriotory maps for our world maps.
We need cash for the upgrades to knights that are hopefully coming up soon.
Of course, as long as our galley in the pacific keeps exploring...
410 AD - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
420 AD - The Hanging gardens problem is solved. We take Thermopylae from Greece.
I plan to "tax it to death".
We know have a source of incense. Another source of horses.
HeHeHe - Now Greece will talk. I could not squeeze world map, but I get territory map and $20.
France and Rome sign a peace treaty.
I begin research on Education. I know it will kill the Great Library, but Smiths, Observatory, etc
are on that part of the tech tree.
430 AD - MEGA Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
440 AD - Ok, it is only $3/turn, but we sell wines to France.
:satan: I know a source of more wines....
Our world map trading nets enough for a horse to knight upgrade.
Greece and Rome sign an alliance against Babylon.
450 AD - I **DEMAND** Rome leave our territory, and the declare war.
GOOD. They were the aggresor.
Net result, we get 3 workers, kill 1 archer, 2 horseman.
We lose 1 horseman.
460 AD - More trading. Horses to France for $5/turn.
Well I was trading to get enough for another knight upgrade, but I can't resist another 2 workers
from Russia for $45. Knights building up in Marseilles.
470 AD - We get Engineering for Free. We get Education for free. Research on banking begins.
The Great Library is obsolote.
[dance] We complete Sistine Chappel.
480 AD - More dead Roman units.
490 AD - More dead Roman units. Cumae holds, and our last swordsman dies.
Pop a good hut and get $50.
[dance] I don't believe it, but we ALSO get Sun Tzu.
We get a golden age.
500 AD - Kill another unit in Cumae, but it still holds.
Of course, a lot of knights now converaging on the city.
Summary - The fighting in the world is hard to even track. What a mess.
:flamedevi: To think I started it :flamedevi:
We now have a much better defense for military. 100% veteran, pikeman. Still to thin at 1 unit per city, but much better than what I started with.
Our knowledge of the world is better, but still a lot of holes in the map.
The Palace in Krakow is to get us Smiths. Research Economics next.
EDIT - Deleted old attachment
joespaniel Mar 08, 2002, 09:07 PM 450 AD - I **DEMAND** Rome leave our territory, and the declare war.
GOOD. They were the aggresor.

Good one, Lee! http://community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/happy/thumb.gif
I believe I am up. Im not looking forward to such long turns, but I'll deal with it.
Cant wait to smash Ceaser and rule all of Europe!
All hail Germany!
:ninja: :ninja: :ninja:
donsig Mar 08, 2002, 09:12 PM Great job!:goodjob:
I think we will have a big war with Russia someday. Should be fun.;)
joespaniel Mar 08, 2002, 09:14 PM I was thinking how much fun it would be to "annex" Russia with panzers...
http://community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/angry/elaugh.gif
PreTzeL_22 Mar 08, 2002, 10:14 PM I was thinking how much fun it would be to "annex" Russia with panzers...
Wasn't it bismark who believed that germany should not make war on Russia....
I was thinking more along the lines of.... OPERATION SEALION! Joespaniel, you should know what I mean...
PreTzeL_22 Mar 08, 2002, 11:37 PM Our capital is renamed Berlin.
Spoilsport! :D
What is the current diplomatic situation? ie. Who's at war with who?
AND HOW DO I POST SCREENSHOTS?!
LKendter Mar 09, 2002, 08:29 AM We we only have 1 war - ROME.
The rest of the world it in turmoil with the wars.
Greece accepted peace after I took smyrna - now guarded with walls and 2 pikeman. Starved down to almost nothing, so not much in the way of greeeks left.
Don't forget, after we take those 3 European Roman cities -
several more wines to trade. Every buck counts ;)
I think the next target = UK. The walls will be difficult, but it is good land. :flamedevi: - plus I am bad. I prefer to beat up the weaklings. Hey, 3 roman cities will add a lot to our empire.
I can tell a bunch of warmongers here - no comments on the fact that I pull a rabbit out of my hat, and got both Sistine and Sun Tzu. No cascades, so a lot of flushes shields for the AI. An if Joe follows the Banking to Economics route, the palace will get us Smith's. Our little German nation is a wonderous nation.
My only regret - I wish there was a unit on the galley sailing the world! We could have popped all type of goodie huts!
joespaniel is up next
PreTzeL_22 Mar 09, 2002, 02:17 PM We we only have 1 war - ROME.The rest of the world is in turmoil
Exxxxxxxccccccellent. :flamedevi: Muhahahahaha.... Fools, we shall crush them all,
In time.... :tank:
joespaniel Mar 10, 2002, 12:41 AM Im having problems with the game, its locked up on me three times, and Ive only begun the first turn.
I dont know if the save is unstable or if its just too darn big.
Can someone else download LKendters attachment and try it?
LKendter Mar 10, 2002, 06:55 AM Well in case it was a bad download.
EDIT - Deleted old attachment
donsig Mar 11, 2002, 11:22 AM I tried the new sav that lkendter posted and it worked fine.:)
joespaniel Mar 12, 2002, 08:12 PM The save works, but I have another problem now.
My root canal from Friday has gone badly, and I am in alot of pain. Im also taking vicadan. Sorry for holding things up, but Im in a bad way, and going to skip my turn ok?
When Im feeling better, I'll be back. Good luck guys.
EDIT: BTW, xrang - are you going to play in the (other) German SG? I understood you wanted to, so I put you in the rotation. Let me know.
xrang the II Mar 13, 2002, 10:15 AM I've got the game....
Yes, I would love to play joespaniel! Thank you!
PreTzeL_22 Mar 13, 2002, 08:33 PM Oh No! Darnit, I know what your going through, joe. Dentists are EVIL MONEYGRABBERS! On a lighter note, hope you feel ok.
xrang the II Mar 14, 2002, 04:18 PM In 500 AD Richard I was crowned the Holy Roman Emperor. This is the story of
his military success against the Romans.
Turn 1, 500 AD
Ghandi wants Chivalry in return for nothing! No way, pal.
No war... good. A Knight goes for Cumae, wins. Another Knight goes for
Cumae. Cumae is taken and is renamed Barcelona. The army continues
west. MMOW. GE(galley exploration).
Turn 2, 510 AD
MMOW. Knight goes for Hispalis, wins without a scratch.
Another knight, OUR VICTORY HAS PRODUCED A GREAT LEADER, Barbarossa!
We'll keep him safe until we need a rush. MMOW. GE.
Turn 3, 520 AD
France and Persia have signed a peace treaty. A Knight takes

LKendter Mar 14, 2002, 04:31 PM :goodjob:
I suggest Peace with Rome. Nothing more to gain.
The question - How quickly to use the leader? Have we had a victorious army?
I agree - England next. Close to the capital.
PreTzeL_22 Mar 14, 2002, 09:54 PM Is empror up next?
BTW, look guys, I don't mean to be annoying/irritating, but I must reiterate my query: HOW

As for annoying, the request for the screen shot was!
I **HATE** yelling in these forums.
If you are on a PC, then simply hit print screen.
Bring up paintbrush (if windows XP),
edit, paste, save as and select .jpg.
Then attach.
joespaniel Mar 15, 2002, 03:44 PM Im back on duty gentlemen. Feeling much better now. :D
I humbly suggest we consolidate Europe, build wonders, improvements and infrastructure.
LKendter Mar 15, 2002, 03:48 PM :satan:

Good one donsig. :D
OK, I agree with Lee on this. Take the British Isles.:hammer:
Some day, in the distant future, we will run amok in the east with panzers, laying waste to the Russian empire.
One does have to have a dream you know... ;)
PreTzeL_22 Mar 16, 2002, 11:22 PM Some day, in the distant future, we will run amok in the east with panzers, laying waste to the Russian empire.
Hmmmm.... Perhaps we should consider 'crippling' America, India, China and the other large and powerful nations in a similar fashion to the invasion of Egypt in German SG one. Then we could beat them all in the space race, as the other victory conditions are.... shall we say, impractical? :p
Well England is part of Europe, isn't it?
 I suppose so, I WAS (not yelling LK :D ) going to conquer England anyway. :p
Empror's up next! Give 'em hell!
joespaniel Mar 17, 2002, 09:02 AM Then we could beat them all in the space race, as the other victory conditions are.... shall we say, impractical?
Bah! Give me enough panzers and I'll build the Forbidden Palace in the rubble of Moscow!
:hammer:
EmprorCoopinius Mar 18, 2002, 06:15 PM Hehe, sounds good. Sorry about thed delay guys, got food poisoning over spring break and had to drive back to school yesterday. I'll have this one played and posted by tomorrow.....I'm on EST, btw. Again, sorry all.
xrang the II Mar 18, 2002, 07:00 PM dont b sorry, man... food poisoning...ouch

PreTzeL_22 Mar 18, 2002, 09:00 PM Bah! Give me enough panzers and I'll build the Forbidden Palace in the rubble of Moscow!
Ah, no, I've a much better idea. Seeing as though every loves us so much, we might as well go for dilpomatic victory. :D Oh, yup. Diplomatic victory: A great reward for all those hours in front of the pc. It's nice to know you're loved. :p
On the serious side of things, would it really be a good idea to put our forbidden palace in Moscow? The terrain isn't AS good as, say, that of india (plus we could seize a few much needed luxuries): This may sound abit far-fetched, but why don't we take whatever city occupies the link between the mediterranean and red seas and build a 'suez canal' there to allow for an amphibious invasion of india, then build our forbidden palace there! :crazyeye: :D Then (groans) we could use that as a base of operations to invade China and America!
That should give us something to think on!
EmprorCoopinius Mar 20, 2002, 02:07 PM Ugh, sorry this took so long fellas, my bad. Just got back to school and found out I had a 10 page humanities paper due before spring break. Whoops..;)
In the year of our Lord 550, Kaiser Gerhard von Cooper ascended to the throne, becoming the third in the legendary line to rule Germany. An entrepreneuer named Johan, owner of a series of grills known as "Johan in the Box" serves the Kaiser his new "hamburgers" at the King's coronation. The Kaiser becomes violently ill, and when he recovers he has the army burn all the Johan's to the ground and has the man himself impaled, trampled, stabbed, drowned, and finally dismembered, leaving his head in Berlin, his torso in Vienna, a leg each in Rome and Athens, and an arm each in Brest and Oslo. Future cooks are reminded to sear their cow meat well on each side.
550 - German armored knights gather on the French coast, aas ocean going ships are constructed in Alborg. German scientists and merchants come up with banking, and begin looking into invention. The Athenians begin an aqueduct, and the resistance in Lisbon is ended with the hanging of 100 arrested and suspected resisters.
560 - worker movement, the Kaiser orders additional pikeman regiments raised to defend German cities from the Russian menace. The happy German people expand the Kaiser's palace.
570 - German galleys continue to explore the Pacific and map the African coast. The Imperial University opens for classes in Berlin.
580 - The Kaiser meets King Hammurabi of Babylon, and the two leaders agree to exchange territorial maps. In addition, Kaiser von Cooper III grants Hammurabi knowledge of chivalry, in exchange for Babylonian blueprints of their printing press. King Lincoln also sends an emissary, but he demands chivalry for free, and is thusly expelled from Deutschland.
590 - more worker movement, the palace is expanded again.
600 - death of Kaiser von Cooper III in Berlin.
Summary: Short turn, just to get it out of my hands and in the rotation again...I'll play more next time. Knights are ready, two galleys near France, another being built, England should be ours soon. Some Knights and catapults fortified in eastern cities in case Catherine gets greedy (which is only a matter of time)
EmprorCoopinius Mar 20, 2002, 02:10 PM And the game file.
donsig Mar 21, 2002, 04:50 PM preTzel_22 is up!
BTW: I have deleted all my old attachments in an effort to conserve server space.

What a good Samaritan! Good going!
I will play the game tonight. All of europe will soon be ours!
Muhahahaha!
joespaniel Mar 22, 2002, 02:12 PM Pretzel does have a good point. By the late stages of this game, the turns will probably become agonizingly slow. I hope we win before it gets unbearable.
One or two good romps with panzers would be fun though. :D

14 days have passed since my last move
Still 3 players in front of me.
Can we actually play the 24 / 48 rules like posted??
I am about to drop from boredom.
joespaniel Mar 24, 2002, 07:41 PM OK, Im dropping.
No offense to anyone, its not personal. I just cant play once every few weeks and stay with it. Sorry. :)
xrang, I started the Japan SG, and have 5 solid players. You are welcome to be #6, as I promised you earlier.
Look for "code of bushido" thread if interested.
LKendter Mar 24, 2002, 08:30 PM Drop me from this one also.
Another two days since my comment.
I have seen zero effort to push players to go.
My interest is down to zero, and I am over committed to games.
I don't want to hold a slot open for a game in limbo.
donsig Mar 24, 2002, 10:16 PM If preTzel_22 ever takes his turn I'll play.
I hate to skip him since he's the one who started this game so long ago...
PreTzeL_22 Mar 28, 2002, 04:52 PM If preTzel_22 ever takes his turn I'll play.
If no one else wants to play... Well, it is my fault, I don't really have the time for commitments of this nature. Sorry.
Thanks for playing everyone. Sigh.
TheWatcher Apr 17, 2002, 07:56 AM Hey, what happened with this one?
I want to watch;) this game.
