View Full Version : The Daily Pineapple
Robi D Jun 08, 2006, 08:02 AM As you might have seen in the foreign office their has been a discussion about starting a team newspaper like the ones in the civ3 mtdg so we can show the other teams why aloha is the best. Once we start publishing everyone is welcome to contribute stories or story ideas. I think we should aim for an issue every 15 to 20 turns. So stay tuned for more details, i'm hoping to rope ybbor in to do some artwork as mine is not so great.
ybbor Jun 08, 2006, 12:48 PM Here's what I'm thinking. Let me know of anything you want to change, and whether you want the "A" to be typed or a pineapple (or if there's another letter you want to replace with a pinneapple)

Go ahead wihtout my article...i dont have time right now. It was going to be about our scout exploring...
Love Nov 04, 2006, 11:06 AM When is The Daily Pineapple coming out?
robboo Nov 15, 2006, 10:31 AM my article fix it and publish it... dont remove the "notes to self". Think of thsi as a journal.
Adventures in scouting...
We were sent along to catalog teh findings of our scouts adn to look for useful resources that our smart gusy may figure out how to use later on.
A few days into our journy we came upon a tribal village. The natives were eating something they called "fsha". They showed us a place where the "fsha" were jumping from the water and were in great abundance. We will call the animal fish...because fsha just has too many constonents in a row.
(note to self...Dont come back to this village...the last thing I need is to find out the tribal chief's daughter had a kid that looks like me. I just coudlnt help it...it was th first women we have seen in days.)
We continued our journies and started to run low on food. One of the tribal people told us to watch the animals for clues on what was good to eat. We stayed close to the sea since we had hoped to find more of the fish. We saw a great many birds pickign amongst the rocky shore. They were cracking open rocks that had a inside material that looked like nose liquid. One of our group (Lam) decided to eat one of these rock creatures and declared it edible. He even cooked it over a fire to smoke it much like the fish. We had not named the animal when Lam said we should call it Sealam. I wrote it in the official journal as "clam" since I was trying to save the limited supply f bark that I had to write on. This Lam says woudl be a good spot of another city...however after eating the nose liquid creature( also takes like nose liquid) I think only those with very little taste buds or the weak minded who we coudl fool into thinking these were desireable would want to live here.
Thats all Robi....you get the idea. Next issue we find ice and cows
Robi D Nov 16, 2006, 01:05 AM Here is the Final Draft:D
Sorry robboo, your journal will be a two-parter:)
GA and RM are free to look at it, but i have made sure there is no inadvertant spoiler info as no other teams are mentioned.
Anyway unless there is strong objections it will go on the main forum when the next turn is played

Robi D Apr 26, 2007, 11:56 PM Well its been a while.
George has given it the kick start to get it going again, but given the long break lets all throw in some articles and make it a multi page special edition:)
George paste your one in here so i can start putting it together
GeorgeOP Apr 27, 2007, 05:08 PM A revolution has occurred in Aloha.
For years a section of our population has repressed the people of Aloha and kept us from the glory that we deserve. They have led us down a dark path and supported isolationism. Finally, some noble Alohans have gathered together to throw off the yolk of oppression.
Kuningas led a government based on “democracy” and “freedom”. He and his lower class proletarian supporters voted in their own leaders. The list includes Treasury Secretary Ybbor, in charge of redistributing wealth, and UN Ambassador Robboo, in charge of giving away all of our government secrets and keeping down the rich.
They did not know that the Aristocracy had secretly inserted one of our own into the government. BCLG hid his wealth in off-shore bank accounts and slummed around, acting like a beggar. He made such a convincing bum, he eventually became head of the Foreign Appeasement League. From there, he saw how poorly our government was run, and how we didn’t form strong alliances with anybody. He decided to change that.
The revolution was bloody, but needed. People of wealth across our nation started to treat the poor how they deserved to be treated. No longer would our money be taken to pay for such luxuries as food and medicine. From now on if you can’t pay back your loans, you actually pay a penalty and sit in jail until you give the money back.
A council was formed to set up a new government. For his efforts in enslaving those worse off, BCLG was made the new King of Aloha. Most of the rich people were finally able to buy large tracts of land and were set up as Lords. King BCLG appointed several lords to important positions, including Lord Robi D in charge of the new Foreign Allies Ministry, Lord GeorgeOP as the new UN Representative, and Lord Gandhi Rules as the new Tax Collector.
The only bad news from the revolution is that most of the traitors from the old government have escaped our Torture and Re-education Centers and are still on the lam. There are even rumors that they are still trying to contact the other nations of our world to sabotage our efforts. We will be trying to change the passwords on all of our accounts, but until then it is still possible, and threatened, that they will play our turn without following the orders of King BCLG.
As of this point, Aloha Kingdom is forgiving all nations of their dealings with the country. We are actively looking for trading partners and military partners to help further the money making capability of our upper class. All questions and formal contacts should be directed towards Lord Robi D or Lord GeorgeOP. King BCLG is much too busy to waste his time answering mail. Please ignore all contact with outlaws, as we will treat conspirators the same as the poor class themselves.
Meleager Apr 27, 2007, 07:24 PM It's been a while since I have come here.
Are we winning?
BCLG100 Apr 28, 2007, 05:57 AM We're not losing but i wouldnt say we're number one either.

Robi D May 18, 2007, 06:22 AM i finally got around to posting edition 3.
Don't be shy with stories/ideas for edition 4
robboo May 18, 2007, 09:21 AM i posted a reply...and added a bit. Someone needs to respond to my response.
Love Jun 05, 2007, 07:08 AM How are we going on the next issue?
I'm trying on a article...
After a suprise attack (well atleast a bit) President BCLG100 are in a dark corner in his dark office, throwing darts at a Picture of Tubby Rower. Somehow, he hits it the time. He yells at the ministers, Robboo and George OP to tell their point of view. George think that if we build enough workers, it will take ages to finish all of them up, then a army can run to Piffles capital, build a wooden horse and hide in there and during the night, they could run out and raze the city. Robboo thinks that if we get lucky, the galley can beat crap of theire galleons whith the big odds of 0.4%, it is really possible, as we have seen in so many games... BCLG100 reacted on both plans whith that way so the ministers ran out whith several dart arrows after them...
You guys can end it up.
