God is always activy and why would he want to destroy airplanes.

An he doesn't have to work, he can just think about working. And he doesn't need to be built he was always here. :D

*in a extremly sarcastic tone* Oh yes this is so brilliant Mally, but Why... I have to ask... Why? I've done that before GOD HAS EVERYTHING!!! He has all upgrades to explore even though He's better than everything and already has them. Yea people don't try to make a God unit, there is a great mystery around Him.

This is DragonBird signing off...

He rises for "Alpha" (The Begining and the Tech that is needed to build him) and he reigns forever; "Omega" The end of time. Have you ever read the Bible, or seen "Bruce Almighty"? :D

Potential upgrades and special attacks for unit:

Smite: plus to damage percentage against troops from other religions.
Burning bush: can destroy enemy forests.
Plague: lower enemy city population through plagues of frogs, snakes, etc.
Resurrection: percentage of killed troops restored after three turns.
Vengeance: plus to damage dealt to attacking troops when defending (now you've gone and made God mad...).
Flood: terraform hills into flood plains.
Parted sea: land troops can cross one square of water to adjacent land.
Omniscience: line of sign into all enemy cities.
Rapture: all troops built in a city with a temple are "called home."
Bread and wine: all cities with access to fresh water automatically have wine resource; all cities with access to wheat +1 health for multiplying bread.
Death of the first born: enemy cities -1 growth.
Jericho: enemy city's walls destroyed.
Daniel: unit will never be attacked by barbarian lions.
Cure: -1 unhealthy faces for curing leprosy.

Some Remakes

Burning Bush - the burning bush didn't burn, instead God used it to give Moses a message - all allied units in target forest become elite

Plague - Snakes were never used on enemies but instead on allies(when the people worshiped the calf in the desert - Added effect, if used on an allied unit it loses all but one health and is turned into an elite on the next turn

Vengence - God doesn't take Vengence - no effect

Flood - no reference noted - changes any land-square into coast for on turn, side-effects are losing all land units on that square and when it turns back losing all water units there

Parted Sea - When Moses parted the Red sea the ground they walked over was dry - like flood exept reversed

Omniscience - seeing and hearing all (Bruce Almighty) - Removes Fog of War

Rapture - On Judgement Day all Rightous souls will be called from their bodies and brought to heaven - all units that have not been in combat are: allies turn into angels and enemies are destroyed.

Extras in next post

Jun 27, 2006, 11:55 PM
Plague of blood - 1 of the 10 plagues of Egypt turned all water into blood (Malbeth wasnt this the first plague?) - removes river bonus for 10 turns, makes one unhappy face and adds one each turn

Saddom And Gomorra - These two cities were destoyed by God because they were so evil - raze target city and destoy the garrison (can only be played twice... as far as I know)

Ka Zappity Zap - like smiteing - remove target square and everything on it from the game, can only be played once a turn (yes you can wipe the entire map away)

God's Playing Field - nothing to say - Mini Game pops up for 60 seconds in which you kill as many stick figures and cars as possible, destroy units equal to the number of kills on the mini game

Hold Tongue - (I'm doing this all by memory Help me with this one Malbeth) a man in the old testement was muted so he could not tell people of his child - Human players cannot curse at you for using any of the effects

The Hold Tongue thing: are you thinking of John the Baptist's father?

Maybe I should add the Knights O' Columbus, with their big Pirate/Admiral hats. Kinda a Catholic thing. Oh well.

Also, why is he available to heaven? With 0 resources to build, heaven can make billions of Gods, so we are talking polytheism here...

He takes 3/4ths of your cities to pay for him, kind of like armies

Check the new pic.

Here's a crunchy fact:
The Jews were originally Polytheists. They switched to Monotheism under Babylonian rule.

Where did I get that? Oh yeah, CivIII. :D

BTW: Even if God was 0 shields Heaven couldn't make 'billions' of them. Even if a unit requires 0 shield it still takes 1 turn to build them. I've tried it.

Also, why wouldn't Heaven be able to build him? That's where he lives. :jesus:

If heaven has a thousand cities, it can build 1000 Gods per turn......

God should be pre available to Heaven, like King units.

Good points, but i've always believed that Heaven was one huge place, not small cities.

I like the King unit, but he was there "Before Civ3". :D :

In the beginning God created the Light and the Dark on the first hallowed day; the Light to play Civ3 in and the Dark to play Civ3 in.
On the second God created water so that his children wouldn't die of thirst from none-stop Civ3 playing.
On the third day God created the Earth to put civ3 on
On the fourth day God created the sun, moon, and the stars (unrelated to Civ3 so who cares :D )
On the fifth day God creates animals, especially dogs and horse so that they will be in Civ3
On the sixth day God made man to play Civ3
On the seventh day God rested and played Civ3, and it was good.
